fave place!!! 100% recommended
Good food, fine service. We had a nice lunch.
The Brixton is a favorite spot for lunch or dinner. It's got a diverse menu and great cocktails and wine selections. You can share a few small plates or indulge in one of the mains. The music is pretty loud so beware of that -- not so easy to have conversation if your party is more than 2 or 3 people who can lean in to talk. Seems to me that it tends to be louder at dinner than at lunch /brunch. I enjoy going there for lunch and having a bite to eat and doing some work as its one of the few places open all afternoon and they are nice about it if they're not too busy. Love their salads and the short ribs are awesome too.
Came for happy hour and everything was great! Except it was us and another table in the whole restaurant and they cranked the volume all the way up. Super excessive but good for HH
Please warn guests when you are having a football event so we can opt to not come if we want to hear the sound of our voices and are not watching the game. What a horrible experience.
Highly disappointing brunch. First strike- our coffee didn’t arrive until the food did 30 minutes into the meal. Our server confessed hat it was his first time working brunch and couldn’t answer many of our questions about the menu, but instead of trying harder/being attentive, he went on to make multiple errors in our order and not apologize/offer any discount as a result. Brought the wrong side dish for someone and then completely forgot another one. Not to mention the food was highly overpriced. My two egg, entirely vegetarian omelette was $18 and came with approximate 2 potatoes on the side. I’d been here for happy hour before and it was decent, but won’t be coming back here anytime soon.
Were not actually serving food but didn’t tell me that when I made the reservation for brunch.
Noise to the point that it was impossible to talk. Little on the menu for vegetarians. Food was bland. Servers over-extended so little attention. All this for over $50 pp. (not $$ as stated). Disappointing.
I paid $17 for a "power grain bowl" and it was literally 2 cup of freekeh with roasted cauliflower and broccoli. That meal cost $1 to make, tops!
My brother and nephew got into town late from a long flight - I hadn’t seen them in a year - I made reservations earlier in the week.
We got to the restaurant and they said they were closing, and that they had closed the kitchen because it wasn’t busy.
And the way it was done was really lame and rude. Not handled well at all.
So I made reservations and showed up to a restaurant closing and was treated rudely.
Won’t be going back.
The staff was very attentive, and the food was adequate. Clearly a millenial date night bar striving to be a bit more, at a higher price point, so noisy acoustics.
The drinks are fine, but the wine list was an abomination -- a thin list of bad wines, and the few good wines were "all out" and the staff knew nothing about the choices. They did offer tastes of the few remaining bottles, but for an SF restaurant it was embarrassing. That said, we took our friends based on location, and clearly did not do enough research, so its on us to a large extent.
Tiny brunch menu and extremely overpriced
Food was undercooked and plates were served incomplete. Fried chicken Benedict was made of undercooked chicken tenders. Beet salad chicken was cold and overcooked. Understaffed, overpriced.
Second visit in to weeks. This place is feast or famine. First visit was a good time with decent food and a wonderful staff. Decided to go back and what a mistake. Restaurant and bar obviously understaffed. The waiter Jerry was in a miserable mood and the food was terrible. What appeared to be a manager was trying to help the waiters which resulted in the manger appearing to quit and walkout. Jerry said they lost their chef this week and the new chef does not know what they are doing.
So disappointing, inexcusable slow service on a monday night, appetizers took almost an hour to come out, food was mediocre, not clear what the hold up was other than the kitchen was too busy. The bathrooms were dirty, no toilet paper. There are too many good restaurants nearby to justify a meal here, I don't recommend this place.
My daughter celebrated her birthday here with friends and found this restaurant to be the perfection combination of: quality food, friendly service and great atmosphere!
We decided to host our Leadership dinner at the Brixton last minute. They were accomodating, very helpful, attentive, and I REALLY REALLY enjoyed their catch of the day. Which was scallops over risotto. It was amazing. Drinks were great. They were exactly as they should be. AND to top off a great dinner, it was priced better than I expected. I would definitely go back there again, recommend them to a friend/ anyone who is looking for a great meal, that is trendy, yet not too noisy or loud. (Although the game was on, it didn't interfere with our dinner at all.)
Please get better! How I want to write a better review. Brixton is very convenient to where I live, they have an Impossible Burget, and it could be a great place to get a casual meal. Sadly, it is not. We ordered a regular burger and an Impossible Burger and both were wrong. The first time one did not include onions and cheese and when it was brought back, cold cheese was slapped on and a side of onions were in a plastic cup. When I brought it to the server again, she seemed annoyed. The other burger was overcooked. IF it is this hard with something so easy...
It’s a bar. Only go for drinks and chatting with friends.
Bday party for my basic white boi friend. Great times.
The restaurant is beautiful! But we had a horrible server. I was a server for 3 years and never treated anyone the way Robert treated my friend and I. We came all the way from Texas to visit this spot and I regret so much.
Nice Sunday Brunch with family & friends! Open & Airy ambience with terrific friendly service! We all enjoyed our food! Recommended!!!
Nice decor, friendly staff. We ordered 2 appetizers and two glasses of wine. The place was busy but not excessively busy. The two appetizers took a long time to come, a good 20 mins. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious, the sauce of the giant meat ball was very good but the meatball itself was a little dry. And for these two reasons I refrained from giving it a 5 star review. I would probably give it a second try though!
Great food. Wonderful service. A little pricey. Great vibe.
I like Brixton. Good variety of menu options and friendly service. Full bar and wine list that's pretty good too. Great for groups or 1:1 or just solo dining.
The steak and eggs were great and so were the cocktails!
Disappointed, they changed menu for more bar food. Came all the way from Fresno for carbonara and no longer have
Great drinks, apps and food.
First time and loved it!
The food and drinks were delicious & the atmosphere was upbeat and lively. We will definitely be back!
Son loved the meatball. I think it was decent bar food but I was mistaken thinking it was fancier so that was my fault. Waitress was very friendly and professional. Made the meal more enjoyable.
Great place for brunch on a sunny day at an outdoor table.
I really enjoy bringing friends, clients and business associates to Brixton. The service and food are great. The only issue (at times) is that the music can be too loud. But that does not stop me from coming and enjoying the fun restaurant.
Great variety of food for folks from GF and vegans to carnivores.... uniformly consistent statements, “this is yummy!”
Also attentive and genuine service from Robert. When in Cow Hollow, this is a breakfast/brunch favorite.
Great place to go before a baseball game. NOT just fried fast bar food bites, but some real food. Compare the menu and you will agree. All 6 of us were pleased.
Food was terrible
My only objection is that during the day they play the music much too loud. It is nearly impossible to have a conversation. Love the service. Food is yummy. Really enjoy bringing people there except for the loud music.
I always enjoy going there. Service is excellent and many good choices on the menu.
I prefer to write good reviews but can't do it here. We took out-of-town family for dinner there and had a lovely time for a while. Meal was decent, service good, prices SF high; we spent big for 9 people. Until the GGWarriors play-off game was broadcast on TV just as we were getting our meal. TVs were turned up full volume. (Who needs to watch a basketball game at full volume?) Even worse, the TV commercials were at full volume, on and on and on. The entire place was full of drinkers by then and everyone in the restaurant/bar had to lean in and shout to their friends. I asked nicely for the volume to be turned down to a reasonable level and it was reduced but just a wee bit. It was so, so obnoxious! Our group was all so annoyed, and I was embarrassed for choosing the restaurant. We actually ate quickly and left in a hurry so we could chat on the street instead. We saw other diners do the same.
I understand the concept of a college bar and the attendant noise level but this was way beyond reasonable. Even a basketball fan asked to have the volume reduced. No way will I ever go back there or recommend it to anyone. And I suggest management speak to the employees about how to create atmosphere that doesn't chase away customers. Bad experience.
Perfect happy hour ambience. Food wasn't that great but the specials were good for that area so it was worth it
