The Brixton Ratings and Reviews
We like the food a lot, but it took forever to get. Appetizers came at same time as meals and one of our orders was wrong and it took another 20 minutes to come out. Server seemed preoccupied with the BAR. Kids meals were great, lots of food and fantastic. Was a little shocked that an automatic 20% was added to the check for 6 people(including 2 kids).
This is a sports bar, in an expansive space. People come for the cheap bar food at happy hour. They have one or two people who take your order, never to be seen again. It took about 20 minutes for our waiter to show up, and 40 minutes for a flatbread pizza to arrive. The pizza was clearly made from frozen, and was disgusting. They leave the front door open and allow cigarette smoke to billow in and fill the place. The people who work there clearly could care less about service; they spend all of their time talking to each other and are on their phones. They have a food runner who delivered our dessert with no utensils, and then disappeared. They need a manager on site, but this won’t improve the food quality. It’s the place to go for salty, greasy, previously frozen bar food and to breathe in cigarette smoke.
I was really disappointed. I try not to leave bad reviews but this place deserved it. Our waitress came to our table three times the whole time we were there. Food came out cold and missing items but she would never know since she didn't come back. They seemed irritated about everything, even us asking for water. We came for a friends birthday and they didn't have the one thing on the menu she wanted to eat which was unfortunate but the waitress said she wasn't sure/would double check. Didn't come back at all. When I talk about missing items I mean basic things. I ordered a scramble, it had no cheese. My toast was cold, came with no butter or jam. Super disappointing and bland. Especially for the price.
The crowd was young, drunk and loud so not our scene. Service was not knowledgable at all and though she was sweet her lack of experience showed. The food was not great - devilled eggs were good but the slaw was bitter. Caesar salad was waaay over dressed and the dressing lacked acidity. My husband had the prime rib Sunday special and it was served over cooked and literally swimming in a bath of what I think was supposed to be au jus but instead looked and tasted like beef broth. Strangest presentation ever. The gratin potatoes were delish though.
I had the snapper over risotto and it the fish was way over seasoned.
Cocktails were same old. Nothing extraordinary.
We passed on dessert because the meal wasn't good.
Service was friendly. Nothing terribly fancy but all the comfort food was tasty. The sweet potatoe fries are fantastic if they are hot and straight from the dryer. We had two orders and one was warm and little soggy. Pasta Carbonara is a must. The steak was a little tough for a medium cook. Overall, it was an enjoyable visit and is worth another visit.
I was disappointed that I ordered a side of English muffin and it came without any butter or jelly/jam. I asked for some, and it never came. I asked again, and it never came. Then it was cold, and I had almost finished my meal. The waiter offered to bring me fresh English muffin, but at that point we were finished eating. I was surprised to see it on the bill at the end, given that the only reason I didn't eat it was because it came dry and got cold while I asked twice for butter and/or jelly/jam. I get it that it was only $3, but not good customer service any way you look at it.
Only one waitress for the whole restaurant. Service was terrible although she was very nice and tried her best under the circumstances. Pretzels, meatballs, and shishito peppers were good. Everything else was terrible. Fish and risotto were overcooked and super salty. Steak was super salty. Brussels sprouts were soggy. Chicken strips were dry and gross. Lots of drunk people too. Not going back.
We ate at Brixton on Easter at 1:00pm. I had a reservation and they seated our party of 4 promptly. We had the Bloody Mary Bar and put all the fixings in our cocktail, including, pickled green beans, asparagus, cheese, olives, beef jerky, celery, carrots and more. There were plenty of great beers to choose from. Two of us ordered burgers and 2 ordered the eggs benedict. We shared the apple crostada for dessert. Both meals and dessert were great and plentiful.
There are large TVs so you can watch the various games; Warriors were playing when we were there. All in all, we had a leisurely brunch and would definitely go back if we're in the area.
Have not eaten here in years. At that time most of the choices on the menu were bar food type. Our Caesar salad was delicious. My pasta dish was delicious. My husband ordered the roasted chicken and it came with a tasty potato casserole. The clam chowder was a bit salty to me. Good option for dinner in the neighborhood. Will definitely go again and not wait years in-between.
The young man at the front desk couldn't find our reservation, even though we booked through opentable. He was rude and dismissive, which was embarrassing as other people were starring at us. In the 2 mins we were there, it was very loud, barely able to hold a conversation
This is a great spot for diners of all ages. My husband & I took his 92 yr old mom and she just loves this place. She enjoyed the tacos, some of my flatbread and her son's burger. There is a happy hour that has to be the best deal around with a decent selection of wine and beer along with bar bites. Our server was attentive without hovering. We will continue to call this restaurant one of our favorites in Cow Hollow/Marina.
The vegan burger was absolutely amazing, highly recommend. The beet salad was full of beets and the candied walnuts were perfect. The squash and kale starter plate was delicious. Our server was attentive and pleasant as was the hostess. Looking forward to returning for cocktails!
Very cool atmosphere. Sort of old San Francisco feel. Service was friendly but fairly inattentive. Very loud bar scene. Probably great for groups but not as nice for a couple. Food was adequate. One of our party thought his Flatbread was very good, however.
Group of old friends went for a reunion dinner. This place is geared for HAPPY HOUR ambiance which apparently the owner insists on supporting. So...music was pounding. We asked the waiter to turn it down and he did, which helped a little. Fabulous water, great food...everyone loved what they ordered.
