I really enjoy bringing friends, clients and business associates to Brixton. The service and food are great. The only issue (at times) is that the music can be too loud. But that does not stop me from coming and enjoying the fun restaurant.
Great variety of food for folks from GF and vegans to carnivores.... uniformly consistent statements, “this is yummy!”
Also attentive and genuine service from Robert. When in Cow Hollow, this is a breakfast/brunch favorite.
Great place to go before a baseball game. NOT just fried fast bar food bites, but some real food. Compare the menu and you will agree. All 6 of us were pleased.
Food was terrible
My only objection is that during the day they play the music much too loud. It is nearly impossible to have a conversation. Love the service. Food is yummy. Really enjoy bringing people there except for the loud music.
I always enjoy going there. Service is excellent and many good choices on the menu.
I prefer to write good reviews but can't do it here. We took out-of-town family for dinner there and had a lovely time for a while. Meal was decent, service good, prices SF high; we spent big for 9 people. Until the GGWarriors play-off game was broadcast on TV just as we were getting our meal. TVs were turned up full volume. (Who needs to watch a basketball game at full volume?) Even worse, the TV commercials were at full volume, on and on and on. The entire place was full of drinkers by then and everyone in the restaurant/bar had to lean in and shout to their friends. I asked nicely for the volume to be turned down to a reasonable level and it was reduced but just a wee bit. It was so, so obnoxious! Our group was all so annoyed, and I was embarrassed for choosing the restaurant. We actually ate quickly and left in a hurry so we could chat on the street instead. We saw other diners do the same.
I understand the concept of a college bar and the attendant noise level but this was way beyond reasonable. Even a basketball fan asked to have the volume reduced. No way will I ever go back there or recommend it to anyone. And I suggest management speak to the employees about how to create atmosphere that doesn't chase away customers. Bad experience.
Perfect happy hour ambience. Food wasn't that great but the specials were good for that area so it was worth it
The service was pretty bad
LOUD. LOUD. LOUD. A group of 10 of us went there for Sat dinner and hoped for a chance to catch up with each other and plan our upcoming vacation. But the restaurant noise level was so ear piercing loud, we couldn't even hear the next person talked, we had to leave after only a drink and an appetizer. Food and drink were good and tasty. Call us "old" but we can't understand why restaurants have to create such a noisy environment that you can't carry on a conversation without screaming your lungs out.
Pricey but tasty!
Great food and service, very nice Bloody Mary station at brunch.
I went to Brixton to celebrate my birthday and really enjoy my evening there. The drinks and food were delicious, and the music very entertaining!
I like to go there. It's convenient and consistent.
Location, atmosphere and food were great. Waitress was pleasant but was horrible at her job. Order wad screwed up. No appetizer was delivered, meals came out late with obvious lies for excuses. Side dish was never put into kitchen. Food runner was completely confused and tried to deliver us three appetizers that we did not order. Total mess.
We enjoy the Brixton. The food and service are good (not great), but the ambiance and location make it a go-to spot for us when we have a large group and want the extra time to talk. Expect slower service and ask about the menu to find the best dishes.
Was in the mood to try something new and out the way. The food was good. The venue was very lively and energetic kinda hard to carry on a conversation without yelling at the person across from me. The service was good.
I go to this restaurant at least twice a week. The people are so friendly and the service is excellent. Love everything on the menu but hard to resist the tacos of the day.
Nice atmosphere, lively crowd. Good for groups of friends or an upbeat first date dinner.
Good food, great for groups.
Really Really loud - hard to talk to the people even at your table.
Great place for a casual dinner. They have the games on and an above average menu for a bar. Late nights it becomes quite the party
Food was horrible and expensive .the steak very dry and they save drinks little glass but very expensive
It was a joke. The staff was so aloof. Waited for anyone to acknowledge my party. So after waiting for any kind of service left. Spent money down there street.
I reserved a table for my birthday and had a great time! Drinks were delicious, food was yummy. The place was busy, music was fun. I would totally come again!
Come here for drinks, not food. Very energetic and fun vibe!
I wanted to like this establishment but my husband ended up getting very sick from the Mahi Tuna Salad and it lasted for 2 days. The service was excellent but the food we could of done without.
Yummy impossible burger, and broccolino. Great service, loud :)
Order a burger with fries ... medium
Got food 30mins later , burger was pink & some fries in the basket was cold
Great place for young people. Loud music. Food was pricy and just ok. Good service.
The evening we ate at the Brixton was the evening of the NBA finals. Five TVs were showing the game and the volume on all of them was turned up to the highest possible level. The restaurant was crowded and people were shouting to be heard over the sound of the game. The noise level was oppressive -- it was nearly impossible to have a conversation. There were probably some people who loved the atmosphere. I was not one of them. If you want to eat there, make sure they're not screening games of Bay area sports teams.
Food used to be great for done reason it’s not that good& tasty anymore
The fries were served cold & the rest of order was just ok
The orders were mixed up from another table
Only one bartender on duty on a very busy Memorial Day! Took a very long time to get our drinks which were very mediocre. Out of olives for martinis ordered and it was only 12:30 in the afternoon.
Eggs Benedict used bacon not ham; muffins very tough.
Will not return.
This is a good place for a friendly get together (especially if you have teens or middleschool age kids
Everything we ordered came out wrong
Made a reservation using Open Table. We arrived in the location on a Wednesday at noon . . . find parking . . . walk up to the door . . . to find out they’re closed (looked like closed for good) - via a note taped to the door !!! Very unprofessional to say the least . . . and yes, we did let Open Table know about it (wink) !!!
We have been semi-regulars here for the last 5+ years. A few days ago we showed up at our reserved time with out of town guests in tow. We found the Brixton closed, with a piece of paper on the door that essentially said "Not here, sorry." I understand that sometimes things happen and you need to close unexpectedly. But there is no reason you can't give your guests a heads up.
The hostess was extremely rude and acted as though I was bothering her! It was so loud I couldn't even have a conversation and I was sat next to an area where every time someone would walk by they would hit my chair. The waiter only came back once to ask if everything was ok. Unfortunate that the service was so bad because the food was good!
I made a reservation and they said the kitchen was about to close when I arrived
It was ok. Food was good. My daughter enjoyed her mini tacos, Caesar salads were good and the avocado toast was good.
The waitress forgot a few items but was very apologetic. It was so loud and noisy that she probably didn’t hear the order correctly.
A good place for the young adult crowd.
My partner and I had a performance on the north side of the city and so we thought that we'd check out Brixton. It reminded me of a college bar for folks who haven't yet given up on the fact that they've aged out of college bars. The food was so-so (not sure why they make such a stink over the Impossible Burger). The chocolate brownie dessert was awful (how can you mess up such a classic!?). The short of it: their marketing is really good but the experience doesn't live up to the hype - and we won't be back.
