For clients choosing the tasting menu with wine pairing, thus spending a lot of money on such a dining experience, there should be special, more posh, intimate seating area for this. Sort of a VIP section for those spend a lot of $$ and indulging in the 8 course menu with wine paring.

Although we had not been to The Bristol in a while, the food was still impeccably prepared and presented with superb expertise from our server. He knew everything about the menu, how the food was prepared and was sincerely passionate about working there. Short rib was our favorite!

Our evening experience at the Bristol was wonderful. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Every course was beautifully served, well prepared and full of flavor, each wine was presented with it's backstory. Our wait staff was attentive and personable. We will definitely return on our next Chicago trip.
One of the best restaurants in the city, in our humble opinion. We always go for ptheir seasonal tasting menus which are well executed, beautifully plated and utterly delicious. If you are looking for an exceptional dining experience, this is the spot. A class act.

Delightful dining in a fun venue. The choices are limited but a nice variety and so very creative, in ingredients and presentation. The endive salad with carrot vinaigrette was yummy, and the Halibut outstanding. Interesting blend of flavors and textures. Service superb.

The Bristol remains an excellent dining option. A clean, well executed menu, with exceptional service.
Chef Larry is a wonderful up and coming chef. No doubt he’ll have a Michelin star soon. His fall tasting menu is consistently wonderful at every course. Unexpected combinations that somehow work together with great wine pairings! The sacchetti is heaven on a plate; I wish this was available in a large portion on the regular menu. His pasta courses are always fantastic and thoughtfully composed. Definitely a don’t miss menu!

The Bistrol is a truly superb dining experience. The service is very attentive, friendly, and it’s clear the staff are passionate about their industry. The food—and concomitant wine pairings—is equally inspired, with culinary technique and creativity shining in each dish. The 8 course tasting menu was an experience we will not soon forget.

Joined the Bristol for the autumn tasting menu and had a terrific experience. Seasonality guided the menu and I particularly loved the lentil salad and the sole was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our wait staff was very engaging and shared our enthusiasm for the food and wine. Will absolutely make this a routine dining experience!

We ordered the tasting menu, the food was delicious with great service with attention to detail. Only criticism would be slightly larger tastes especially when it came to the main course, however it was tasting menu.

Had the chef experience 8 course menu. Food is excellent. Waiter/waitress are always there. The time between dishes are a little long but ok.

I chose The Bristol based on the reviews I saw on here, so it’s fair for me to also give one. Everything was great, perfect! The service was unparalleled, staff was so friendly and super knowledgeable and the food was delicious! We had the tasting menu and every course was unique and so full of flavor! We even forgot to take photo of the first 2 lol
We also did the wine pairing and that added an extra “oomph” that did not even know it was possible! Will for sure recommend it and come back! Thank you all!
fantastic 8-course tasting menu "experience"! if dining at alinea (and paying for it!) puts your teeth on edge, the bristol is the place for you. (they also do regular a la carte if you're not up for 8 amazing courses.)
the food was beautifully conceived, expertly prepared, and constituted a just-about-perfect dining adventure. the chef also did a marvelous job of adjusting the menu for my vegetarian, garlic-allergic husband without any loss of quality or care. and we would highly recommend the wine-tasting accompaniments. the (female) sommelier did an excellent job of introducing and explaining each wine that we had, and it made our experience of the whole meal that much richer.
we are sadly not chicagoans--altho we ARE difficult-to-please new yorkers--so this was a rare treat, but we will make it our business to get back to this restaurant the next time we are in the windy city.
if there were any criticisms (and they were very few), it would be that the flavor profile of the dishes seemed to fade toward the end of the meal...and the "cheese course" (which involved a VERY salty cheese mousse) could be rethought. (it was in fact the only course neither of us quite finished; every outher course had us nearly licking our plates.
one note of caution: the restaurant (on the first floor, anyway) becomes deafeningly loud as it fills up. even tho we were seated at the very front of the room near the window, with people only on one side of us, we could not hear each other across a two-top. (i cannot imagine what it was like deeper in the room!) we were told that the upstairs is quieter...but if you want to sit downstairs, try to go early in the evening, before the hollering starts. that's what we will do next time...and there WILL be a next time!!
We had a fantastic dinner at the Bristol. Every course of the tasting menu was lovely and the wine pairing was also outstanding.
We used to eat at the Bristol weekly back when it first opened and continued being regulars for several years. However, after the front of house manager Charles left and there were multiple changes of chefs we pretty much stopped going for diner as we were no longer fans of the menu and instead we just did the occasional brunch.
That has all changed now, the new chef is great and the front of house staff are all super professional, we will be regulars again.
We went to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and it was great! No one recommended the place, it is out of the touristy connaissance or not even part of the famous restaurants in Chicago and we just picked it after reading some good reviews over here. So, we were kind of going blind and just expecting something good. But it was soo much better than we expected! The food is sooo delicious! Flavors and mixtures that surprise you. And the portions are good, not ridiculously small like some gourmet places where you eat tasty dishes but you end up hungry. And everyone was so nice. They gave us a complimentary dessert and they even gave us a card signed by the staff, wishing us happy anniversary. They totally made the occasion even more special for us. Thank you!

We had some service issues early on, but the manager took care of us and made it right. The food was AMAZING. We did the tasting menu and it was perfection.
