What Insiders Are Saying
The Bristol is an American restaurant in Bucktown good for any date or small group of friends.
Great food—great experience
Delicious brunch menu in a chill neighborhood setting. Would go back for sure!
A lovely time!
Delicious food! Wine list was just so so.
The noise lelevlelevelelevlelevel was VERY loud. The porchetta was too salty and the steak was not flavorful.
Awesome. Thank you for being so attentive and taking the time to talk to us table side about different fortified and dessert wines.
Amazing!!!! The food ambiance and service was impeccable. Thank you Chef Adam Meyer for coming out to make sure everything was delicious!!! Must go back every chance I get to try everything on the menu!!! Great place for all occasions!!! Food was 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
We were seated immediately upon arriving at the Bristol and our waiter came right over to acknowledge us. Service was fantastic and the food was outstanding. The monkey bread was delicious and the sauce that came along with it was addicting. Loved the chicken and my daughter said it might be the best hamburger she’s had. I can’t wait come back to Chicago to return to the Bristol.
Great place, unique and delicious tastes. But the portions were so small, we spent $200 per couple, with a couple drinks each, and were still hungry afterwards. Increase the food so we can enjoy and return more often!!
Great food, great service, great ambiance- what a gem!
Excellent service & great food, at a reasonable price.
Father’s Day. Food was not special. Ordered the biscuit and gravy. Gravy was just warm and salty and biscuit was chewy. Final nail on the coffin, changed the music to heavy metal toward the end.
Incredible food and incredible service! My pasta came a little spicy even though it wasn’t supposed to be and I am very bad with spicy food so I just let the server know for future references and told her not to worry about it that I was fine! Not only did she apologize but they took it off our bill! Just one example of how they went above and beyond!
Fantastic food, great service. Very nice establishment!
Had a great pre-father’s day brunch here. The pastry board is always a hit. Our party had the breakfast sandwich, French toast, and the burger, all of which were delicious. Never disappoints!
Overall the food was great!! French ramp dip is a must!! Have been twice in the last month or so and both times seated quickly. Wine selection is great at well.
Lovely and robust prize fixe menu with interesting wine pairings. Warm service.
The kitchen and wait staff were very accommodating for a last-minute request for a vegan entree, and they whipped up something not on the menu without any complaints and it was delicious. That paired with the beets and salad made for a wonderful meal. Thanks a lot for the extra attention.
I was screaming at the other people at the table because it was so loud. Even the waitress had to ask us over and over what we were saying because she could not hear.
food was adequate but I would not go back if i wanted to converse with who I was going out with
Great brunch with some friends!
The food was very good. Service was very friendly and attentive. Music was just a bit too loud. But overall we had a lovely dinner. Wish the entrees offered a few more choices.
Wonderful meal, excellent service, not as noisy as last time.
Food was interesting and delicious all but duck fries were soggy and not as good as I remembered them.
Stopped in during a business trip after a recommendation from friends. Such a wonderful experience! Our favorite was definitely the cacio e pepe. Great find!
One of my favorite meals of all time.
Food was awful. They basically took advantage of mother’s day and charged $50/person for pre-made food. I’ve been to Bristol before and food was great. Will never go back after paying $250 for four people to barely eat anything. Terrible experience.
The food was PHENOMENAL. We had the ramp dip and asparagus to start. Both plates were delicious but my god the ramp dip. I've never tasted anything like it and it was divine. We literally licked the bowl. Asparagus was served with iberico ham, a poach egg, and something similar to a hollandaise. Amazing and unique. All of us ate the steak: perfectly cooked, one person stated it was the best steak she had ever eaten.
Dessert was also a win. We had the snickerdoodle Sundae and the peanut butter cookies with chocolate cremeux. The whipped cream and gelato in the sundae were superb and the chocolate cremeux heavenly.
Drinks weren't overpriced (10/glass red wine; 11/glass prosecco). Good service. Highly recommend.
very good service, fast, dinner was delicious, value for what you pay, highly recommended
The breakfast sandwich bread tasted and felt like frozen bread that was microwaved. The sun dried tomato just made it taste like someone smothered it in ketchup, and the mayo on the sandwich along with the melted cheese made it far too rich.
It was quite difficult to get our server’s attention for drinks.
The mains came out approximately 4 minutes after we received our starter, making the table far too crowded and not allowing us to enjoy a well paced meal.
The Bloody Mary was quite dull, and the garnish was spartan and bland.
The servers were clearing the food while we still eating.
The food was delicious and the service was great!! I’ll definitely be back and have already told others about The Bristol
Food was inventive service was personable & amusing. A really lovely evening.
Definitely get the cinnamon roll. The burger is mediocre.
i absolutely loved the space. feels like communal seating but with added space of individual two tops-which to me is perfectly cozy. our server navigated the right space with ease and only popped by at the most opportune moments. the rye waffle with housemade pimento cheese & salmon roe was my favorite dish of the night. the cocktail list is great for simple but complex drinks. would say a great date spot. i wouldn’t take my parents here because it’s pretty dark (although i likes that) and loud (ditto).
Excellent quality and service. Wish they provided a bread basket at this point instead of $8 monkey bread.
Went on a Sunday. Not a lot of people. Service was incredibly attentive. We drank a lot of water and yet our waters were always full! We had the monkey bread and pimento cheese starters. While both were good, we agreed that we would get the pimento cheese 100% if we came back. It was amazing. I had the shrimp agnolotti and bf had the sausage-stuffed porchetta. I enjoyed my dish but my bf went crazy for his. He LOVED it. I had the sundae and he had peach gelato. We liked his more than we liked mine but the presentation on mine was great. Ambience was fine. Overall we agreed we would come back which is saying something because there is so much great food in Chicago! For future, hope they have some non-alcoholic drinks on the menu for when we return.
We found The Bristol a warm and welcoming restaurant. The staff was super friendly! Thank you for treating us to a FANTASTIC dinner. Everything was perfect from presentation to taste to hospitality. We loved it and we will be back with friends!
Poor un-attentive and pretentious service. Waited forever to place drink order (10 min) , took forever to get the drinks (another 10 min) and we ordered wine and beer NOT a cocktail. We then waited forever to place our dinner order , waited even longer for second round of drinks. was there for over an hour and a half sat mostly waiting. This was our second time at the Bristol last time was in Feb for restaurant week and experienced the same type of dinner service. We were more forgiving during restaurant week because of the volumes that it brings but two bad dinner services has led us to believe slow mediocre service is what to expect. So many other places to eat and spend money...NOT going to waste another Saturday night there
The food was excellent, but the portion sizes were too small. I ordered one of the heavier dishes, and was told it was one of the more substantial portion sizes on the menu. I can only imagine how small the other dishes were.
