The Bristol is an American restaurant located in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood. The Bristol has become a staple for Chicago’s local dining crowd, off-duty chefs, and visiting gastronomes looking for a great dinner or weekend brunch. The menu features handmade pasta, farm-fresh produce and a nose-to-tail approach to cooking, thoughtfully crafted by Chef Todd Stein.

Beverages include signature cocktails, a wine list featuring over two hundred producers, and beers from local breweries and around the world.

The food and ambiance was great. The service, however, was meh. If you are going to offer reservations at 10p, I fully expect your kitchen to be open past that time. From the time we arrived to the time we left, the server was very pushy and granted he gave us 5 minutes, I feel like it was so rushed. Not the finest moment. Overall good experience.

Neighborhood gem for sure and the most accommodating kid-friendly restaurant around. Excellent food, but the service is the highlight of this place. We will be back very soon.

Usually this is a great spot. But Saturday the service was off, the food was cold and cooked incorrectly (steak overcooked, broccoli soggy). Disappointed.

We had a great experience at the Bristol and the food was excellent. Our server Mike told great care of us and made sure all of our needs were met. We had a large party of 12 and the service and food absolutely kept up with the large size of our party. Thx for a wonderful night!

We ended up waiting about 20 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. However, the manager provided a complimentary round of drinks, as well as several appetizers on the House. The food was phenomenal and our server was knowledgeable, friendly and timely. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant in the near future. Overall excellent experience.

We booked a reservation on new year’s eve. Arrived on time only to find out that they are backed up and our table was not available. Got our table at 11 pm. Reservation was 9:30. Did not get any notification prior that our table will not be available on time. We ordered right away but we still didn’t get our main entrees until midnight. Food was great. And our waiter was so kind and apologetic for all the delay. Giving it 4 stars for the kind waiter and manager who took care of our bill on the house.

We typically love the Bristol which is why we booked a reservation with them for New Years Eve.
Upon arriving for our 9:15 reservation, we were told that the wait would still be 45 min. After explaining the logic of reservations to the hostess, she told us it wasn't her problem. Unable to find an alternative on new years eve, we waited an extra 1.5 hours before being seated by another rude hostess.
After waiting 30 min for our first course, we waited an additional 40 minutes for the second course which was just cold noodles.
At one point I noticed that none of the tables had food at 11:30 and that there were only bussers on the floor, no wait staff or managers to be found.
While the manager was eventually found and attempted to remedy the fiasco with a bottle of wine, my party and I were really disappointed with the experience and will not be going back to the Bristol.
