Wasn’t very impressed with the tasting menu. But ordering the regular menu is the better option. Good wine
The tasting menu experience was fantastic! Wine pairings were perfect. Staff was very attentive. And the chef took us on a delightful culinary journey that we won't soon forget! Can't wait to go back again!
Sensational dining experience with expertly prepared dishes and impeccable service!
Incredible food, and incredible service made for a truly memorable NYE meal!
Our first time eating at the Bristol was new years eve. Service was warm, professional, and accommodating to our dietary needs. Food and cocktails were consistently tasty and high quality. We will definitely go there again. Thank you to the Bristol for a nice evening.
We spent New Year’s Eve at The Bristol and all ordered their Tasting Menu and wine pairings. It’s hard to imagine a restaurant that does a better job of embodying both a neighborhood gem and a special occasion meal. The space felt warm, inviting, and energized and the service was flawless. Every course was flavorful, beautiful, and exciting. It’s difficult to name a favorite, because it was the kind of meal that you keep talking about for days afterwards remembering another highlight. At a time when the restaurant industry is facing unprecedented challenges, The Bristol still somehow manages to blow me away with their hospitality. We look forward to returning in the winter to see what the kitchen creates next!
First time dining at The Bristol, and we will surely be back! The food, drinks, and service were all incredible and made for a beautiful evening. Charles, the sommelier, had excellent recommendations for wine pairings & was so personable & kind. Cheers to The Bristol!
My family and I had a great time!
The risotto, while expensive, was outstanding. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable. A neighborhood gem.
We had 6:45 reservations and I had previously requested a special table since it was my husband's birthday but when we got there, we were told there would be a half hour wait and that we could eat our tasting menu at the bar! This initial experience was upsetting and disconcerting after all the planning I had done to make this a special dinner. Luckily, we were able to start the first 1 course at the bar with a glass of wine and then our table was made available. The wine was comped, which made me feel better. Then the food was absolutely delicious and beautiful. The restaurant had a good save. We really enjoyed our meal and the service was pretty good (although slow at the end and our waiter did not bring the small dessert with candle on it - but we were stuffed, so I didn't ask for it). Thank you!
What an awesome experience - We (a party of 3) had the pleasure of dining at the Bristol last Saturday night. For one of us (me), it was the first time with a tasting menu. It was quite the experience to say the least - the food was delicious, the cocktails / wine were amazing, and hospitality was on point. I dined with my boyfriend and friend from high school who shared the same sentiments. My friend from high school went to college with Sous Chef, Jeff Rueth. Since the first day he met him, he knew food was his passion and had a dream to become a Chef. It took a while to see him in action living half way across the country, but it was worth the wait - a true talent in the kitchen. Each course was unbelievable - our pallets were met with with tastes we did not think were possible. Our favorite dishes were the butternut squash sacchetti (third course) and the Venison (main dish / 6th course). To anyone on the fence of making a reservation, get it on the books - get the tasting menu and let the Bristol crew take care of you. You will not regret it. We will definitely be back - until next time.
Server's recommendations for the MULLIGATAWNY, MAFALDINE, and TEMPURA FLUKE were amazing!
Made reservations here for my friend’s birthday. The food was delicious. They even brought out a birthday dessert with a candle! Our server was kind
The bartender was fantastic
Excellent food. Excellent service
Food was great. Service was very nice but couldn’t hear understand the person explaining the dishes for the tasting menu and the atmosphere was poor. I did not like our table either. For the price I can’t be too picky so I give it a 3.5/5 due to the food and the price.
Great food, service, and vibe.
For clients choosing the tasting menu with wine pairing, thus spending a lot of money on such a dining experience, there should be special, more posh, intimate seating area for this. Sort of a VIP section for those spend a lot of $$ and indulging in the 8 course menu with wine paring.
Too much chit chat from server about the food - some is fine, but not too much
Great and innovative dishes! Wonderful atmosphere, the tasting menu and wine pairing are a great deal.
Although we had not been to The Bristol in a while, the food was still impeccably prepared and presented with superb expertise from our server. He knew everything about the menu, how the food was prepared and was sincerely passionate about working there. Short rib was our favorite!
Fantastic 8 course wine-paired meal.
The Bristol is a strong staple of modern American. The new menu is just as flavorful as the old one. Love it so much I got married there. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed the Fall pre/set menu. Flavors, colors, aromas, fantastic! Love this place and they just raised the bar.
So amazing. Every element of each dish was perfection.
Always a phenomenal experience at the Bristol. The cuisine is superb and rivals James Beard restaurants! The customer service is always top-notched.
Our evening experience at the Bristol was wonderful. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Every course was beautifully served, well prepared and full of flavor, each wine was presented with it's backstory. Our wait staff was attentive and personable. We will definitely return on our next Chicago trip.
One of the best restaurants in the city, in our humble opinion. We always go for ptheir seasonal tasting menus which are well executed, beautifully plated and utterly delicious. If you are looking for an exceptional dining experience, this is the spot. A class act.
The Fall Tasting Menu is a delight, and must be experienced to be believed. Chef Larry and his kitchen crew, the GM, and entire service team have really delivered an experience par excellance. Enjoy!
Delightful dining in a fun venue. The choices are limited but a nice variety and so very creative, in ingredients and presentation. The endive salad with carrot vinaigrette was yummy, and the Halibut outstanding. Interesting blend of flavors and textures. Service superb.
Bristol never disappoints. Food ambiance and service always top notch.
Each time we go to The Bristol, the food gets better and better, how can than be when it is already the best gourmet culinary experience in Chicago already?
Bravo Chef Larry Feldmeier and team!
The Bristol remains an excellent dining option. A clean, well executed menu, with exceptional service.
Chef Larry is a wonderful up and coming chef. No doubt he’ll have a Michelin star soon. His fall tasting menu is consistently wonderful at every course. Unexpected combinations that somehow work together with great wine pairings! The sacchetti is heaven on a plate; I wish this was available in a large portion on the regular menu. His pasta courses are always fantastic and thoughtfully composed. Definitely a don’t miss menu!
The food is always excellent and the service is a notch or two above similarly priced restaurants.
This is a special occasion dining place that one could come to each week – a comfortable syntheses of neighborhood favorite and fine dining.
The service, creativity, and flavor combinations are wonderful.
The Bistrol is a truly superb dining experience. The service is very attentive, friendly, and it’s clear the staff are passionate about their industry. The food—and concomitant wine pairings—is equally inspired, with culinary technique and creativity shining in each dish. The 8 course tasting menu was an experience we will not soon forget.
This restaurant just wasn’t our favorite. The menu is limited and very expensive. Also they take some creative license. One of the offerings included “gnocchi” which arrived as very pasty mash that did not taste good. The rest of the food tasted okay, nothing spectacular. Honestly our favorite item was the milk bread, but again $10 for a small serving of bread which is something that comes standard at many restaurants…I just don’t think the food in general is worth the cost. That being said the service was great and it is a pretty venue.
Anniversary dinner. Excellent food and service.
Joined the Bristol for the autumn tasting menu and had a terrific experience. Seasonality guided the menu and I particularly loved the lentil salad and the sole was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our wait staff was very engaging and shared our enthusiasm for the food and wine. Will absolutely make this a routine dining experience!
