The Bristol is an American restaurant in Bucktown good for any date or small group of friends.
First visit with husband and tween daughters. Everyone liked their food- I liked the cocktails! Ate upstairs and there were 3 large groups that made the noise level way too high- we were grateful that they slowly filtered out and we could hear each other again. Together we had a burger, hanger steak, pasta and the chicken-all delicious! My favorite though were the beets- perfect! Would recommend and we will be back!
Went here for brunch with my family and it was wonderful! Great location, perfect ambiance and excellent food. Can’t forget the top notch service!! Really a pleasant experience! We will be back!
This is mid level American cuisine. I’d go back in a pinch but dishes are pre prepared and reheated, I literally got our 3 apps before we got our cocktails, 3 min max.
I've been here at least half a dozen times over the past few years and I've never been disappointed. Always great and well worth the money.
Great food, fantastic service, and got seated right away with our table ready (group of 7). Not our first time there, won’t be our last!
The brunch menu looked promising, however no one in our group enjoyed their food. Overall, very disappointing.
Returned after a pleasant experience for brunch earlier this year. We were seated by the open window as requested and the table was ready when we arrived at the time of the reservation. Only one minor hitch - English muffins under eggs were gummy and not toasted. Told wait staff and although we did not want to wait for another she comped a Basque cake, which was very good. Things happen and it is how you deal with them, here they continue to be a place I would go back to.
Very good food with great cocktails. Thanks Pablo!
I can't recommend this highly enough! We have been twice now, and both experiences have been wonderful. I strongly recommend sharing a variety of dishes and selecting several items from all categories -- including dessert. The Basque cake should not be missed -- save room for it.
They have an excellent wine selection. Both times we have bought a bottle on the manager's recommendation, and I have added both selections to my personal wine choices.
Service is excellent.
One of my favorite restaurants! They never disappoint!!
I thought the staff were very friendly and attentive. The bloody marys I had were tasty but very weak. The mushroom toast tasted good, but the sourdough bread was too crusty to cut through. I'd suggest a different bread.
Been there many times. Keeps getting better. A little cramped but worth it
Very good food and drinks. The server was great and gives very nice advice. Everything we had was superb and we had a great time.
We were a six top of dudes hanging out for a bachelor party. The Bristol was very accommodating and handled us well. The food was top notch the service was courteous and fun and the drinks were great. I look forward to dining here again.
Neighborhood stalwart that never disappoints.
My wife and I had a gift certificate to The Bristol, so we went in last Saturday night. I had been to The Bristol once several years ago shortly after it opened, and for some reason, I never went back. We will definitely be back, however, as it was delicious and a really fun night. Awesome place!
A late Mother’s Day brunch
Amazing, as always!
Great atmosphere, great food. Seemed like a "locals" restaurant. Out of the downtown touristy area
A good overall experience with excellent service, good food and great company.
Went there for Mother's Day. They had a price fixe menu and all the options were great!
The service was horrible. Our waiter didn't even take everyone's drink order at first - he walked away after one person said they wanted coffee and didn't turn back around when we called for him. He never came by to refill our water or coffee. The power went out at the restaurant (not their fault), but 45 minutes passed before anyone came by to explain the situation to us. The explanation only happened when I flagged down our waiter. We did, however, notice the floor manager going to only select tables to explain the situation, but he skipped over other tables including ours. I noticed that the tables he visited were tables with well dressed people. It was very offensive, and I will not be visiting any time soon.
Great food and the service to match. Will definitely be back.
It was so Good. Every flavor was unique and delicious. The drinks were amazing. And our server was so helpful and not overbearing. Really great experience.
We've been here twice now and both times have been absolutely wonderful! Fantastic service and amazing food! We celebrated my birthday here last night and it was lovely. Beautiful card waiting at our table and it was a lovely night so they accommodated our request to sit by the open air doors. We loved the monkey bread with dill butter and our entrees were fantastic as well! Our wine pairing was perfect and the dessert (with a birthday candle too! Nice touch!) was absolutely delicious (get the Snickerdoodle Sundae!). It's a great place to visit if you want to have a delicious meal in great ambiance with impeccable service! Highly recommend!
This was our first visit to The Bristol. We really enjoyed it. The peapod appetizer was delicious and so was the Monkey Bread. We also enjoyed the interesting wine list along with our main courses. The restaurant had a lot of energy and had a fun vibe. The service was excellent. Overall a great experience. We will be back!
First visit here, great food and cocktails
I love coming here - always amazing
I live nearby, and The Bristol has been on my "to try" list since it opened. Finally stopped by after a rave from an out of town friend. The food was superb! We (two) shared a starter, pasta and entree since we were not too hungry, and the tastes were so intense, the generous portions were plenty. Cavatelli with ramps and chicken liver mousse were incredible. The duck confit very tasty, but just a bit too salty for us, and we love salt! The rich sweet jus helped cut the salt.
With two glasses of nice french wine, the bill was under $50. Very good value for a light meal.
It was full at 6:00 on Sunday, but emptied out by 8 on Sunday, so I will be back to sample the intriguing cocktail menu and try more exquisite food. Bring friends to fill a large communal table and order a lot to taste, you wont be disappointed!
We love the Bristol, it's a great neighborhood spot but also worth the trip. Easy to get a reservation for a restaurant of this quality. Great cocktails, great food & desserts haven't had a bad dish. The Monkey bread, raviolo, chicken & the duck fat fries all are worth the trip (just to name a few).
The service was rushed. Hanger steak was dry and tough to eat.
Great food and service!
Great food. Very kid friendly.
It was a delicious meal, it was more lively and louder than I expected for brunch.
We had 7 for a bachelorette dinner. The food was amazing, we ordered almost every appetizer and they were excellent. Our dinners were great, service was great, I will be back!
Great meal with two friends. We all had a great time. The meal was delicious.
We've been going to The Bristol for years and it never disappoints. Lately we've been back into brunching and decided to pop in on a Sunday for the most delicious fried egg sandwich, duck fat french fries and a pork shoulder hash. SO GOOD. The coffee cake wasn't worth it but everything else was.
Cost far outweighed the experience. Extremely loud, slow service and average food.
Tremendous food quality. The orecchiette with morels and peas was perfectly al dente and the duck confit classically executed and quite substantial with two full legs.
