Food was great, service was outstanding and a very elegant restaurant

The Prime Rib on the Bruch menu was indeed "Prime" and very generous. A large fresh berry dish awaited us upon arrival. The fruit was nice and ripe and excellent. The champaign was good and replenished as often as asked. The service was pleasant and timely and was provided by a friendly young woman . Overall, a great meal on a Sunday morning in a pleasant atmosphere. We will return often.

I really hate what I am about to say because, in the past, The Briarwood has always been a favorite place. Where to start.... the food was served cold, two members of the party ordered eggs Benedict with the prime rib. The meal arrived without the eggs. When we brought it up, we were told that there were no eggs with that order. My meal was cold and served without the sauce. The wait person appeared to be new to the job and forgot certain, simple requests. I can’t say we will ever return.

So very disappointing! Sad to loose a really great place! We have been going to The Briarwood for years for special occasions like Christmas and Easter and it was always outstanding. This was out first visit since they have changed from daily dining to special occasion ans corporate events.

The entries were room temperature, just $40 sandwiches, had horrible flavor, ...just nothing good to say about the food now. This place used to be our "go to" for a great dining experience and never used to disappoint. The waitress was "nice" but acted like it was her first day... a far cry from the superior service (like we din NOT have to ask twice for a coffee refill!) that one would expect when paying a premium price for the experience.

I felt sad that this would be our last time there....another one will soon be going out of business.

As usual the food was great and the ambience is well. However, the service is really gone downhill. The food took quite a long time to come. coffee refills took even longer. the waitress/food runner messed up two of the orders from a table of six. we just ate it anyway because it took so long to get the food. Worst part was the restaurant was barely half full. Otherwise it’s pretty good restaurant.

We were not at all pleased with this restaurant, that we previously have loved and had many wonderful lunches, brunches and dinners through the years. My husband's prime rib was absolutely tough. They no longer offered the regular eggs benedict that had two wonderful English muffins with the toppings. My husband had one egg benedict (with his prime rib) and the Canadian bacon was also very tough. We were quite disappointed with the food and lack of general atmosphere. So sorry to have to report this as such.

I have always loved the Briarwood however this is the first time i have done brunch there. I loved the INCLUDED pastry tray and the champagne however i can see how people think the price was a bit "spendy". $32.00 for an omelet is a bit exorbitant. If you factor in the champagne ($10) and the pastry tray $10, it is not so bad. My child and i split an entree due to the cost however she still enjoyed the pastries. It is a beautiful place and the service is outstanding.

We had a wonderful Easter Brunch at the Briarwood. Our server, Kim, as excellent. She was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu, food, and long history of the restaurant. The food was delicious. We are happy to be going back on Mother's Day!

We had "high tea" the day before Easter. It was a big disappointment. We've been to Briarwood a lot in the past and found it excellent. No longer. The scones were small soft cookies, the clotted cream was whipped cream. The soup was good. Then for each person there was a small deviled egg, one tea sandwich and a small baked egg dish. The sorbet at the end was first frozen so hard it was simply ice. When replaced it was flavored with watermelon and basil, so bland it was tasteless. The loose leaf tea was good. Service was good. Setting was good.

I really enjoy this restaurant. I was a little surprised however the food wasn't up to par. My crab cake Benedict Was lump crab benedict. Maybe that was my bad and misunderstanding. But it wasn't very tasteful. The shrimp on my friends shrimp Benedict Was rubbery and kind tough. I love the Briarwood however this is the one time my food was not as I expected it to be.

This was always considered to be an excellent restaurant and enjoyed high recommendations. Today it's a former image of itself and appears to be struggling to find its niche. However we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service and drove in from Longmont based on our past experiences.

If you want to take your time and enjoy a meal, this is the place for you. Staff was very friendly, although it took quite a bit of time to put our order in. Not sure if we had a waitress assigned to our table, but the girl taking water around took care of us. I asked for no polenta with my dinner and got it anyway. When it came around to dessert, they were out of the creme brulee , very disappointing. They made it up to us by taking a meal off of our bill. We did appreciate that. The restaurant was cold. Many people had their winter jackets on at their table. We were seated right in front of the fireplace. We loved that!!

I love going to Briarwood but I will never go again for 5280. Service was horrible. The French onion soup is usually amazing but there was no cheese melted on the top. Which is my favorite part of French onion soup. Very disappointing.
It took about a half an hour to get our soup. Another 40 mins to get dinner. The dessert took another half an hour to get. My fiance ordered a crown and coke and that took about 20 minutes to get. I understand being busy but for spending that much money. I expected better service even if it is restaurant week.
All the food was amazing except for being disappointed with the French onion soup. The prime rib and dessert was very good. I was very disappointed in the service though. I will still come back as I love Briarwood but it was not the best experience.

Overall I would say stay away from here. After reading recent reviews we were not too inclined to go to this restaurant. We went because we had received a gift card to this establishment.

First the good. Nice ambiance and the wait staff was on their toes. There was a fair number of people arriving after we arrived and there were plenty of staff on hand to pay attention to each table.

What RUINED it for us was our food. My wife and I each ordered the prime rib. My wife's salad was good but my onion soup was lukewarm or tepid. I wondered how old is was, definitely not fresh. Then our prime ribs were served. These may have been a prime rib a day or two before but they weren't tonight. Both of us noticed that the meat was cold as we went to cut it. I'm not talking about just being slightly warm or under cooked, but REFRIGERATOR COLD. I say the meat was maybe 50 degrees. WE both complained politely and our waiter returned the meat to the kitchen, a few moments later a supervisor returned these same ribs and apologized. I looked at the meat and could see it was slightly toasted on a grill. Needless to say the meat was still basically ice cold. I set my plate aside after one bite. My wife managed a couple of bites and set hers aside. The supervisor saw we weren't eating and never bothered to check back. Our waiter could see the result and was a bit flustered but it seemed there was nothing he could do.

We ordered desert and fitting with the previous 15 minutes, it came out stale.

I could on about this, but there is no point, serving customers COLD prime rib and expecting them to be happy with it, is the POOREST restaurant service I have ever experienced. Won't be back, ever.

We were seated at 4:50 PM & left at 6:50 PM; 2 hours. We've never experienced such slow service. We've been to the Briarwood many times and would have expected more timely service. The restaurant was not crowded.

The food was excellent and the server was mostly attentive.

We were celebrating our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. Great atmosphere, we loved the appetizer. Prime Rib and Salmon were also very good. Great service. They even gave us each a glass of Chambord Champaign when they found it was our Anniversary. We definitely enjoyed our Anniversary dinner at the Briarwood. We plan to go there again next year for our Anniversary.

Very traditional venue and ambiance — you’ll probably love it or hate it. Very traditional menu, too. Food is good (prime rib excellent). Service is friendly but slow (unexplained wait of thirty minutes between entree and dessert with server nowhere in sight). Briarwood is expensive and maybe just not quite as good as other restaurants at same price level. I’d read a lot of bad reviews on the Briarwood (some good ones too) so I was actually pleasantly surprised - a generally better experience than many of the diners who wrote reviews had. That said, I don’t think I would go back - just too many better places at the Briarwood’s price point.

Having been to The Briarwood back when it was in full service mode and the meal was an actual EVENT, not just sustenance, I have to say that I was disappointed. My daughter was finally old enough to appreciate such a life change meal and service. I was so excited! I told her to expect that they would place your napkin on your lap, refill your water after a few sips and would decrumb the tablecloth. None of this happened. Our server Brian seemed like he didn’t even want to be there. The food as always was amazing! Just so disappointed in the lack of service. We don’t do meals like this but every few years so Denver Restaurant Week seemed like such a great time to share this amazing experience with my daughter. Just REALLY disappointed.

Worst dining experience ever. Even with a reservation we had to insist on being seated 40 minutes later. The hostess was clueless and though the restaurant was fairly empty (no wonder) he wasn’t seating anyone. The chef offered a limited Valentine’s Day menu that did not even have a vegetarian or pescetarian 2nd course. I had to ask them to omit bacon and bacon dressing on a salad because French onion soup made with beef broth was the only other option. Basically I had spinach with a vinaigrette, nothing special there. My entree arrived with beet straws burnt beyond being edible. Unfortunately they were crumbled into the spinach and polenta, rendering them also inedible, so my entree was 3 scallops. They do not provide salt and pepper and everything we ate was under seasoned and bland. The dessert was awful. Honestly I was shocked when the bill arrived at $85 each before drinks. Don’t waste your money here. Briarwood used to be a special place but they will not be around much longer if they keep serving awful food and treat customers poorly. The only good thing to be said is that our server was excellent. I think he should find a better place to work, he’s too good for Briarwood.

Didn’t see a waiter for an hour not even to greet us or take drinks. After waiting 2 hours for service my date and I left. Terrible service here would not recomend to anyone.

Had a reservation for 7 pm, arrived at 6:50 pm for Valentine’s Day. Ordered wine from the bar and waited. Other customers loudly complained about their wait time, which became justified as it took them until 7:45 pm to seat us, even with a reservation. Low staff, no attempt to explain the issue. Ended up Ubering to a Texas Roadhouse to get food. Glad I made those reservations weeks in advance for a memorable date. Overall, a waste of my time and money.

45+ min wait with a reservation. Terribly unorganized. This used to be a premier restaurant. Now it is a disappointment. It pains me to say it, but it should maybe skip all restaurant events at this point and stick with private events only, assuming it can do this well. Farewell Briarwood Inn.

We have been going to the Briarwood for special occasions and sending gift cards for approx. 10 years. Until this experience it has always been a 5 star restaurant. Under the new direction of event center it isn't hardly a 1 star. They were very disorganized , food prep. was very slow. We had 4:30 pm reservation and never got seated until 4:45 and we were the 2nd couple to arrive. The first couple and us were skipped and others coming in were seated until I mentioned we had been waiting. The price listed for the meal was $80 and they charged $85. The waiter was very friendly, professional and working hard to get the food out but it was not ready. We did not
get finished until 7:15 pm and when we left no one was waiting. Usually the place is full and others waiting for the good service and excellant food. Very Very disappointed and has been taken of our list of places for any meal out alone special occasions.
