   Food is good. But service and timing needs to addressed. I'm starting to get used to restaurants requiring appetizers and main courses to be ordered at same time, giving some excuse that the chef needs it that way. It was the same here, notwithstanding it was 5:30 on a Sunday and there were only 6 tables occupied. But then our main courses arrived while we were still in the middle of eating our appetizers. Totally unacceptable! It ruined the entire dining experience.

   So excited to check out Palmetto and we were generally pleased with our experience. Good food, with an authentic southern coastal vibe, but only fair service. I would have liked to have the lobster in my gumbo removed from the shell (or at least to know what I was in for, in advance). I wound up with brown gumbo gravy all over my white shirt from the ricochet effect of removing the tail from the shell with no appropriate tools to do so. Also with no bowl to dump the empty lobster shells into, my husband collected the messy shells on the edge of his dinner sandwich plate. Not cool. And really no need to also cram the empty head and torso of the lobster into the gumbo presentation, as it just diminished the overall effect. Looked cluttered. Ate messy. The actual gumbo was delicious. Eating it was difficult at best. When our server returned, after we had finished eating, I told her what happened and she offered a Tide pen for the stains all over my shirt. Made me think this happened regularly. She was very kind. I got the impression the restaurant was short staffed on the floor as our server was only able to check on us once, toward the end of our meal. I will go back again to give a second chance. The apps were okay. Deviled eggs were tasty, but beyond messy. Using the yolk mix to adhere the eggs to the plate is clever, but makes for a serious mess for those who struggle detaching the eggs from the plate. Even when using a fork, worse when using your fingers. Charred oysters were an interesting appetizer, though the charred taste was missing. Prices were fair, better than other local comparable restaurants. The location is great, the view and vibe are fun, and it will probably be packed all summer.

   We really enjoyed this new restaurant on the boardwalk in Asbury Park. Our waitress, Sarah was so sweet and attentive to our needs. We ordered the crab dip and the oysters. Both were delicious. We split the Lobster gumbo and corn pasta both of which were also very good! The corn bread we got as a side and is a must. We would definitely go back!!

   Could not wait to experience this new boardwalk restaurant. It's a perfect "option" . The wait staff were extremely friendly and gave us excellent descriptions of the meals we decided on. Very relaxed atmosphere with ocean views. Will be one of our regulars for sure.

    Food was great! Loved the cornbread and friend green tomatoes! Cool atmosphere. Great drinks . The server was amazing and made my day! Good vibes place !
