Great venue for meeting friends for lunch. We were very pleasantly surprised as we didn't know what to expect. The staff were lovely, from the welcoming staff on reception, to the bar staff as well as the waiting and kitchen staff. All were helpful yet professional. The food was really good - a great selection on offer and just the right amount - and fantastic value. We will return, next time as a larger group.

The Brasserie at Sopwell House is a lovely open restaurant set out to look like an Orangery. It feels light and airy and never over crowded.
The lunchtime food is buffet. Small plates of delicacies set out around a central display area. The plates are replenished constantly so are never empty. It’s beautiful food. Lovely flavours. Beautiful colours and a great choice whether you are a vegetarian or meat eater. There really is something for almost any palate.
It was our third visit to Sopwell and we enjoyed it immensely.

I was very disappointed with the afternoon. I brought my parents to the brasserie as a treat, unaware that the a la carte menu would be unavailable. Sadly, the buffet was all that was on offer. The choice was limited and the food was cold, perhaps because it was towards the end of lunch, but having spent £30 per head I would’ve expected better.
Sopwell House itself is lovely, the reception is warm and inviting, but I wouldn’t recommend the buffet to anyone for the price.

The food was delicious. My only complaint was that I ordered my Lamb chops medium and I felt they were a little rare. The sticky toffee pudding was divine!

Service was excellent and we both had a wonderful meal.

Quality, service and general ambiance excellent. Only criticism is the wine list with limited options for those who want their wine by the glass.

Very poor atmosphere as restaurant almost empty. Main course Food selection very limited. Food on floor around starter / salad counter. When we ordered coffee there were a very large number of dirty plates on our table and we had to stack them up to make room for the coffee. They were never removed. Probably less staff on duty due to low bookings.

Very disappointing as this was a 50th wedding anniversary gift.

One positive was that the food available was good.

An enjoyable evening meal at the Brasserie, the staff were attentive and food was very good with our selection of fish cakes for our starters and Sopwell House Burger for our main course. Substantial meal and we could not cope with a dessert. We thought the only downside was the constant noise of other diners all competing to talk to each other, it was difficult being heard. Otherwise, our review would have been nearer to 5 stars.

We treated our best friends to a meal here so it had a bit to live up to. The evening was very enjoyable (table next to us was noisy) & overall a great night out. The service was very good & the food excellent (no food was wasted so must have been good). All for a very reasonable price.

A disappointment. We have previously eaten in the Restaurant at Sopwell House and found it excellent. We thought we would try the Brasserie on this occasion. The food was up to expectations but everything else was not. One of the mains ordered was somehow overlooked and so one of us had to wait while others were eating. When we got the bill there were three items on there which we had not ordered or received. To be fair, when we pointed this out they adjusted the bill and gave us a discount for this error and the forgotten main dish. It is also fair to say that the staff were courteous and pleasant.

We expected the ambience to be more relaxed than the restaurant, but the difference was quite stark. I echo comments made by other reviewers concerning the clear view through to the swimming area, which was not conducive to enjoying the meal. Another thing, the website specifies "smart casual" but there was a table of people wearing dressing gowns (fresh from the spa, no doubt), and another of guys all in t-shirts. We wouldn't mind the latter at, say, Prezzo or Ask, but our reason for choosing Sopwell House was for a special occasion, so we wanted and expected something better, and if a dress code is specified it should be adhered to.

The Brasserie at Sopwell is a cosy place with excellent food. There are also several vegan options on the menu as well as mu favorite champagne Taittinger! You will have a nice evening out as a family or as a couple.

Visited the Brasserie for a birthday lunch. Table looked directly over the Jacuzzi and swimming pool, which were both busy; not something we wanted to look at whilst eating.
Service was very casual in manor and drinks ordered not delivered as per requested (size etc).

Have had better buffet lunches, but the food was good for the price. Plates were whipped away pretty quickly, so no chance to go back for more if you hadn't taken all you wanted the first time! Less chance therefore of a leisurely lunch with friends.

Visited on a Sunday for the buffet and Sunday Roast. Buffet offered was very minimal compared to other establishments I have been to. Only fish and a very small selection of ham and salami. No chicken. Salad dishes quite basic and rather bland. The roast disappointing too with only red meat beef or lamb. The roast potatoes were cooked with Thyme which I dislike so it would have been nice to have some plain roasties on offer! Veg was a small basic mixed veg. Desserts were the usual fruit salad, variety of little pots of chocolate mousse, tiramisu etc but no hot desserts. It was a disappointing experience and I expected better from the Sopwell. Staff were quite robotic, unfriendly and lacking any personality. But hearing a kitchen staff member in the open plan kitchen starting to 'discuss' 'the English people' (until he was hushed up) is another reason why I won't be returning.

Decided to try the Brasserie as an anniversary celebration having married at Sopwell 14 years ago. We've been to the main restaurant several times over the years and this time decided to try the Brasserie.
Was very pleasant, good atmosphere, really good food, good service. A lovely touch at the end of the meal bringing out a desert with Happy Anniversary written on the plate. Bonus points for that!
A very nice evening thank you.

Food was incredible - highly recommend the corn fed chicken fish, absolutely delicious. The staff were polite and the service was great. We were staying in the hotel also and were a unhappy with the lack of cleanliness in the room but dinner at the Brasserie definitely made up for what the rest of the hotel lacked.

I’ve been to the Brasserie at least half a dozen times as part of a Spa break or for family celebrations but it would certainly not be my first choice. Perhaps this is because as a Veggie there’s only one main course at lunchtime. The starter table is very good and the mini desserts delicious but less choice for late lunch as they’re not replaced. Service was sparse, perhaps as it was a Bank Holiday and we had to remind that we were waiting for drinks with the main meal and empty plates waited on the table to be cleared between courses. My veggie paella was tepid and stodgy but the other guests enjoyed their roast beef dinner.
