The fried chicken is amazing but takes time to prepare so if you’re in a hurry - order something else. The special KC Strip was over cooked and tough to eat. After waiting for fried chicken we didn’t want to wait longer and return the steak. But nice evening
We had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. Overall an excellent experience.
Great food and relaxing environment
Love it here
The corn bread appetizer is excellent, served hot with honey butter melting on top when served. It is almost better than having an after dinner sweet dish. We had steaks, which were cooked perfectly and had excellent flavor. The creamed Brussels sprouts were exceptionally prepared.
Food was very good and we enjoyed the entertainment.
I always love coming to this place.
Great time for brunch! Arica was a very attentive server. Food was delicious! Carrot cake divine. Loved the decor! We can’t wait to go bsckk
Had the fried chicken dinner. The fried chicken was very good. Just enough spice. The Brass Onion dip was very good also
This was a great gem to find. We like real food. Meaning meat, potatoes, veggies, etc. The latest theme for niche restaurants seems to be to how as many flavors into food and hope on dominates. Instead you get blah vs wow. Keeping it simple but unique enough to attract folks to come here vs a favorite is hard to do. Brass Onion nailed it. Quality food, great portions, great variety, great drinks, great service. One word for anyone reading this - cornbread. You'll thank me later.
Our food was excellent and the service was great! Our drinks never ran out the entire night. The appetizers were delivered quickly, which gave us enough time to enjoy those before our dinner was served. The noise level is perfect for a conversation at your table. I really enjoyed the night and I can’t wait to get back!
From the get go it was not a pleasant experience. The place was practically empty and they tried to seat us at a table next to the service station and door out to the patio. When I asked to sit at another table, they said they were ALL reserved. Service was horrible. Shrimp and grits were mediocre-at-best. Drinks were extremely overpriced. I will not be returning.
This was our first time eating here and we will be coming back soon. We ordered the burnt ends during happy hour, so we ended up bringing part of our dinner home. We were so excited to eat our leftovers last night. The food was still yummy!!
Our wait person, Cat, I believe, was excellent! There were only 3 of us & she had a birthday party of 8 plus a few additional tables. First of all, our table was annoyingly wobbly, and she fixed the problem quickly! Most important she continued to check with us without being intrusive! And last, when asked for suggestions, she was spot on with the 3 of us, all having separate entrees.
Dining was delightful & I will surely recommend the Brass Onion for dining with Cat as server!
Hi there, we are so glad you had a good time with Cat during your visit! We know she's great, but we'll definitely pass this on and let her know just how much you appreciated her service. It sounds like everything went well and we absolutely appreciate the very kind review! In an effort to improve, is there anything we could have done better during your visit to earn that 5th star? We look forward to any feedback you have to offer! Cheers
I was a regular customer, having visited many times. With the last several experiences quite poor and will not be back. The greeter/hostess is professional, kind, addresses by my name, just a wonderful introduction to the restaurant with the friendliest and most welcoming smile. The server, however, is arrogant, annoying, and made me very uncomfortable. For the second time having thought the first time was just a bad day. Firstly, was annoyed when I ask for my fish to be cooked more thoroughly. He almost acted as though he was offended and was quite an annoyance to him. Secondly, with 100 loaves of bread in our full view, when asked if we could have some, he threw two packages of saltine crackers at us. During the meal, he hovered over us circling until we were done. And then continued until we just asked for the check wanting to leave because he made us feel quite rushed. The most important part of making and eating establishment successful is making the customer feel special and catered too. Could not have been more the opposite. Absolutely will not be back
Everything was great!
The waitress was horrible she gave us water and walked away The host took our order for our Crab hush puppies and then she came to the table she messed up a chicken order I asked for 3 thighs and got 2 and a leg and she only took my wife's desert order didn't even ask me if I wanted dessert she wasn't worth the 5.00 tip I left only because it was my wife birthday. Very sad and like the place.
Great southern fried food! Waitress was new so a little slow. Ambience was good but just a little noisy.
Christian our waiter was excellent. All the food was excellently!
Thanks for the great review, Mark! Cristian is one of the best, we'll let him know you thought so too. We can't tell you how much it means to us that our guests have a great time, and how much it helps us out when you let everyone know it. Thanks again, and we hope to see you in for dinner the next time you're out this way. Cheers!
Our first time and we ordered from the appetizers. Love the shrimp bbq and meatballs. The cornbread was a bit too sweet for our taste
Thank you for the kind review, and your feedback on the cornbread! We'll make sure that gets passed on to the chef. We hope to see you in dining with us again soon.
A little pricy but food and service were excellent.
Great service, food was excellent. A little overpriced.
This is my new favorite restaurant
Overall service was very slow. Was 10 minutes before the server came to our table to even greet us and he was slow the length of our time there. Took over 30 minutes to get our food. Had to ask for drink refills.
Food was great, atmosphere good, service was a little slow. Had to go to bar to ask for extra ketchup, and mustard for a burger & menu said biscuits & gravy served w/fruit but it came out w/a salad & my daughter in law preferred fruit but noone came by to ask how it was so she just ate it. I ordered a cup of decaf & was never offered a refill. But, I know some days, waiters have a bad day so I would most definitely go back for another try & hope for better service.
Was disappointed in the food. 4 of our 5 brunch dishes did not have good favor. Pancakes were dry, chicken and waffle had no flavor and the same with the salmon benedict. The beignets and waffle with berries were good. The coffee was bitter.
Was there for dinner the weekend before and the scallops were amazing.
The food, service and atmosphere are excellent. The fried chicken is the absolute best and make sure you try the cornbread!
Yes, the food was mostly delicious, and the cocktails were wonderful. The one thing we both noted was that our sandwiches seemed under filled and were mostly bread. The bread to meat ratio reminded me of the sad, pre-measured meat packs Subway uses. It was delicious bread, but everyone wants a balanced sandwich.
The beignets were amazing!
We came for brunch. Everything was amazing! Our entire group could not stop talking about how great the food and staff was!
The room was very pretty. I remember beautiful tile floors. Our waiter was friendly & helpful. The menu included a wide variety of offerings. Both my friend & I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.
Our table of six was well-served with an attentive wait staff. The highlight for the table was Mr. B's fried chicken and creamed brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. Two guests felt the scallops were the best choice with the risotto adding a great balance. Noise level allowed our table to enjoy celebrating a birthday and hear each other talk without too much restaurant noise. We will definitely be back.
I love this place
1st time and enjoyed brunch very much. Great food and super service. Will return! Gregory
First time here - the reviews were spot on. We tried, of course, the Brass Onion dip. Creamy, not an overly onion taste. The toasts were crisp and buttery. So many entree choices- I opted for the tenderloin salad. It was wonderful. The blend of lettuce, veggies and the beef was perfect. The Garlic dressing was not overpowering. My friend had the Reuben - she said it had a wonderful natural taste - which is what this restaurant strives for. She had the sautéed mushrooms and was not disappointed. I will be back - many more options to feast upon!
The food was amazing!! The device outstanding! Staff was very warm and friendly. First time we have ever been there... we will definitely be going back again, and again.
Our server was awesome! The food was very good. When the eggs weren’t cooked as ordered by someone in our party, the problem was fixed quickly and very nicely. We can’t wait to go back for dinner!
Best Shrimp & Grits’s!!
All was good
The food and drinks were delicious. Great live music!
It was an excellent dinner for Mardi Gras. Yeah I’m a skier was perfect and the food was exceptional.
