Went for the wine tasting. Despite being very quiet in terms of customers we were kept waiting for a long time between each sips (and i must say of all the wineries, Brander gave the smallest sampling). Wines were brought to the table under the arm of the server and whether this was the cause or not, were never served at what I would consider a correct temperature.
That said the wines were good, but the whole experience was not at anywhere near the level of the other vineyards visited.
It was a very casual wine tasting experience. The fountain was dry, the place did not seem quite ready for guests .
Had a beautiful afternoon with lovely wine!
Visited / Tasted on Saturday afternoon. Brander had a local band playing in their courtyard, and local taco caterer. Wine was great! Food was great! A most enjoyable afternoon.
Well, this was a bust. We went on a Saturday, so it was busy. There's a downstairs shaded courtyard where they have music and seemed like a pleasant place to sit, but we were told that we had to sit upstairs "because we had an open table rez." Upstairs was not shady, and it was hot. They told us that downstairs cost $15 and you could buy glasses of wine and that upstairs was for tasting ($20).
It was impossible to get a server's attention to get on to the next taste.
They have food downstairs (tacos and quesadillas) but you had to go back downstairs to order the food. So, we did. After about 25 minutes, when food did not appear, we had to go downstairs and collect the food.
The wines they had for tasting included the 2 we were interested in: Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé, but they only had the 2020 vintages of both, and they were not good.
I absolutely LOVED the afternoon we spent here. Gorgeous area, beautiful and lively patio— and SUCH wonderful service. Was visiting from LA and cannot wait to return!
Very mediocre to poor customer service. As members we were looking forward to returning and expected the same personal service as before. We brought two friends to possibly join due to our high praise. We bought a case and they bought a case and we were still charged 2 tasting fees. No ...it’s not printed that the fee is waived with a purchase but come on...members bring two prospective members and purchase 2 cases of wine. Back to Paso Robles and Edna Valley where they appreciate your business, treat you like a valued customer and give you little tid bits of thanks.
We did not have any food at this location.
The survey needs to add N/A choice.
Our server was excellent, friendly and informative. Great experience!
Not the place to visit in Los Olivos. It’s basically an outdoor wine bar with overgrown weeds, and not great wine. They offer ZERO tastings during the weekend. The service is slow and unreliable. They offer no information about their wine and clearly don’t care about the customer.
This is a great fun place to enjoy sipping on wine and listening to music. Especially when its windy, the courtyard is nice and secluded. Will be going back for sure!
Wines are fairly priced. Nothing really wowed me but there is a lovely courtyard and garden area for tasting
Great service Great ambience delicious food and good wine
Great wines and atmosphere .
Buy 3 bottles and get tasting free
Tom is the best.
The Open Table software distorts this review. We went for wine tasting. We did not eat, so have no opinion on food.
We were virtually alone on a warm Monday afternoon. The lack of other guests felt uncomfortable. We were well served by waitstaff Elana (except when she forgot a bottled water for my spouse).
While sitting on the deck we were disappointed there were no flowers/decorations on the tables, no cushions on the metal garden chairs, no glasses of water provided, no water running in the decorative fountain. Seems like a missed opportunity to make the tasting more attractive. A basket of bread or breadsticks would have been a home run.
The tasting flight was perfectly fine and the waitstaff presented each wine with knowledge of its flavor notes and characteristics. We really came to purchase wines we knew already, but the tasting was a nice opportunity to try something new.
good environment, nice people, service was a bit slow but we were not in a hurry. taco cart was tasty and wine was crisp.
Awful. No personality or vibe. Did not have a server forever and got up and left. Went to Vincent and for only $20 a tasting it was soooooo worth leaving. Don’t bither
We are going back with family or friends. Need we say more? In addition to a beautiful setting, their specialty (white wines) was great. We did walk away with Xmas present wines for our kids (grown adults) to enjoy.
It was my second experience at Brander, and I was a LITTLE disappointed.
It was still a good wine, tho.
Beautiful surroundings, great music, good food, what more could you want?
Beautiful outdoor patio, Attentive staff, Awesome wine!!
Peaceful, comfortable patio with pretty views for wine tasting. Fountains were an added bonus. Delicious well priced wine selection. Whites were the king here. Nice unhurried atmosphere.
Wine was wonderful, service was excellent! Was a great experience and will definitely be back in the future
Fred's birthday weekend was amazing! We had a great time!
Visiting Brander Vineyards is going on a trip to Europe for the day. Always delightful, everyone so helpful and kind.
Great vineyard, good wine especially the Fred. Would be nice if they offered some sort of flight or samples, but otherwise it’s an excellent place to spend an afternoon.
We didn't have food there, but the wines were marvelous.......
Brander Winery has a beautifully shaded courtyard that allows for an intimate setting, yet also socially distanced to be safe. I attended the Chris Stills concert and enjoyed wine and tacos. It was a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon and would recommend this place to anyone for a unique and friendly experience!
Branders was outstanding - the wine is fantastic, loved the Los Olivos Sauvignon Blanc. The live music was wonderful and not too loud. The patio is beautiful and charming with lots of shade and the tacos were great! I plan on coming back soon!
Lovely outdoor venue. The wine selection is good, and you can buy wine bottles to go.
Thank you for joining us!
We always enjoy visiting Brander -- the wine is great, the grounds are beautiful and all of the people working are friendly and know the area and all about Brander wines and the history of the winery. A great place to relax and enjoy your afternoon!
Thank you Caren! We enjoy having you as our guest!
What a lovely place, Brander Winery!!! The wine , food and music was delicious!
Thank you! We are so glad that you had a positive experience. We welcome you back anytime!
We had a reservation for tasting. When we got there on time, we were told they were not doing anymore tasting. Wine tasting selections poor. Were not given tasting fee costs up front. Wine just OK. Much better at other wineries. I won’t be back.
Dear Anita, We regret there was a miscommunication. We would be happy to have you as our guest for a complimentary tasting any week day. Please call or email us.
Weather was very hot, but obviously not their fault.
Great place for wine tasting and taco cart was delicious.
Why thank you David! We'll work on the weather!!
Awesome, Fred is an amazing host. Tom pored the wines, and Laurie handles the crowd!
Thank you so much for the rave review! Come again!
Brander is a very nice vineyard and they have a nice set up for COVID on their patio. Well worth a visit.
Thank you Thomas! Come back again soon!
Great way to spend a Saturday. Great music, tacos and wine. Outside service only and you have to order food along with the wine. Tables spread apart. Felt safe and comfortable. Reservations required.
Thank you. Glad you had fun!
Very nice place to hang out for a few hours. The vineyard has gone out of its way to make a nice setting for their wine tasting.
During COVID19 pandemic they have done a great job of social distancing and making things as safe as possible.
The wine was good, but a bit acidic for me and so I ended up not buying more, but perhaps others will find their flavor more to their liking.
Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful Peaceful outdoor courtyard with well-spaced tables, attentive staff and great Brander wine and food offering. Terrific way to get out during the pandemic.
