Great variety on menu. Something for everyone! Cozy fireplace.
Slow service but very friendly. Food is a good value. Not amazing, but great for the price.
Blackhawks game
Food was EXCELLENT!!! Nice selection of beer and cocktails. Tons of TV's for Sports viewing.
Food was just okay. Bloody Mary bar was just okay. I went with a group of 8 for brunch and our waitress was no where to be found the majority of the time we were there. I would understand her absence if the place was busy, but we were one of 3 groups in the whole restaurant. When we did see her she was too busy chatting with other staff or on her phone to ask if we needed anything. While we were there, a customer (who was obviously too drunk to stand) puked on the wall and al over the women’s bathroom floor-there was no hurry to clean it up.
Overall, I’ve heard great things. I was excited to try a new Iowa bar in the city, but you could not pay me to go back.
Such a fun night and our server was FANTASTIC. Thank you
Always a fun place with a great menu and sports on numerous TVs.
Our food was good, but the service was terribly slow. We can't even figure out why it was so slow because the restaurant was predominantly empty. Even when the sever dropped off our check, it took ten minutes to get a pen so we could split the bill.
The Boundary was not busy when we arrived and I thought it was a great spot for a large group.
The food was your basic bar type food. The drinks were probably the best part of the meal.
The food at the table next to looked great! We were seated right away, after 10 minutes the hostess came back and asked if we had a server. We didn't and she said she'd get one. We waited another 10 minutes before leaving with no one coming by with a water or menu. I'd understand if it was busy, but we were 2 of 4 people in the place. Again the food looked good, just never got a chance to try it.
We were looking for a place that took big groups on a holiday. Boundary didn't disappoint with outdoor seating, a great brunch menu, & top notch service.
I absolutely love going to The Boundary just because I get to slam on their amazing burgers while drinking a beer to some live baseball or basketball. Unfortunately this last time I went, they had a low food stock. Burger buns were switched out (I'm guessing they had run out), no tater tots, and no giant pretzels. Pretty bummed since I brought a friend there for the first time.. Overall though, I'll continue coming to The Boundary just because its super cozy and the staff goes above and beyond. Super friendly! Plus the set up is perfect for watching your everyday live sports.
I will not recommend this place to anyone but people who has no where else to go to. It started when we walked in, the host was not pleasant (wrong job to be in). After we ordered, drinks and food didn't take too long (best part of the night). The food was bad. Clam Chower was terrible. Steak salad had a piece of hair in it. Meatloaf was okay (edible). Chicken pot pie was good. Our server was nice and friendly at the time, until............ we paid the bill. She thought we didn't tip and ran to her manager and presented him with 2 receipts that didn't have tip on it. But little did the manager know, she didn't provide him the third receipt that's worth more than 25% tip. He blindedly came to our table with those two receipts and asked what was wrong with the service. We were all confused. Then we asked where is the third receipt? He went back to her and came back to apologize. It's unacceptable when the manager doesn't have that knowledge to actually review this whole story before coming at us like that. It totally ruined our night. He offered to get us a round of drinks, but that doesn't fix anything. Good luck The Boundaries..
A table wasn't ready for us, but they righted that wrong by giving my friend and I the first round of drinks for free without me asking. Very friendly of the manager who did that.
However, I found it somewhat in poor taste to turn off a muted Chicago Blackhawks game to blast the Rachel Maddow show at a loud volume on a Tuesday night. I think people at a bar would much rather watch the local hockey team than listen to politics!
Nice space. Good food and great beer selection.
Was looking for a quick bite for brunch. We were seated when we got there and service was good. TV's were huge. Would try coming back here on a game night.
What you'll get here is a grown up version of a frat party. Lots of booze, sports, and not so healthy but totally delicious food. Great place to go as your last stop of the night or want to watch the game, but it's not a place I'd recommend if you're going on a date or trying to catch up with a friend.
Great beer selection, typical barfood but well executed. Went to watch an Iowa game with family. Crazy loud. Impossible to have any conversation. No reason to have the volume that loud during a football game.
Overall we had a good experience, but it seemed like the staff had been a bit overwhelmed from the previous football crowd. Our food was a bit cold and the waitress seemed very flustered.
This is the second time dining at The Boundary and again, they did not disappoint. Our waitress always stopped at our table to make sure my date and I were doing well. Regarding food, I took her recommendation on trying one of their burgers which in one word I can describe as AMAZING. Hands down, the best burger I've tried in a while. Will definitely be visiting again, soon!
The Boundary used to be one of my favorites in the neighborhood. Unfortunately I won't be visiting again. Chalk it up to personal preference but we much preferred the interior before they remodeled. The comfortable booths are gone replaced by high top benches/tables. I don't know what the motivation was but it looks like they were going for more capacity. The service was painfully slow in spite of the fact that there weren't too many other patrons. The staff was friendly but it appeared they had our server covering half the restaurant. Our first drink order took 15 to 20 minutes to arrive. The server proactively offered to comp that round of drinks but they did indeed bill us for them. The food was good but not outstanding. The service was slow the entire visit. All in all, it's not a good value and the service leaves a great deal to be desired.
pretzel bites with dipping sauces was great. The dough was cooked just right, soft and a little chewy.
The Staff was SO accommodating and friendly. We had a great table where everyone could see the game. There is a cozy table by the fireplace which is also a good spot I think. The prices are very reasonable and the space is clean and a fun environment.
I met on a "date" here and the place has a great space for entertaining with friends and family. I would recommend for that. Not so much for meeting someone on a date (My own fault). Good prices on appetizers and a huge beer selection. Check it out if you can.
They refused to honor our reservation. That was bad.
The steak and eggs was amazing!
I've been to the Boundary a few times now and it has yet to 'wow' me. It's a great spot for game watching and drinks but the food is nothing special.
I had lunch on The Boundary on Saturday with my dog. We sat on the patio. They have large dog bowls for guest dogs and other dogs to quench their thirst. The food was good. The tater tots were perfectly crispy on the outside. Our waitress was super sweet and nice. I'll definitely be back to dine al fresco with my dog.
Decent food and service but since half empty reservations obviously not needed. But it was a weekday so......
We were looking for a place for lunch today and believe it or not it is hard to find a good lunch spot in this area. Most places don't even open until 5-6pm. Finally found The Boundary and we lucked out and found a good spot to park right out front with no parking meters so that was nice!
The restaurant was not busy at all which could be expected at 1pm on a Monday. We were happy to find a nice booth by the bar and had great service. The waitress and bartenders were awesome. Another great thing about the service is that they have one of the chefs (I'm assuming he was a chef, judging by the white jAcket) bring out your food!
The menu was super easy to read with not an overwhelming amount of options. So many of burgers and wraps sounded good I wasn't sure what to order. I did end up getting the chicken wrap. It was great!! But next time I would like to try the scrambled egg burger. Boyfriend got a burger, he said it was okay (looked good to me tho).
The prices were a bit high but normal for the area. They have a bunch of beers on tap and in the coolers and a nice bar to sit at. I can't wait to come back and try a burger and some beers. Oh yeah, And the cheese curds are AMAZING.....definitely not a Wisconsin cheese curd but I actually liked the soft, crispy-ness of these curds better.
Not the busiest spot for a Friday Happy Hour but a nice restaurant and good location and friendly staff.
I've lost track how many times I've been here. It's one of our favorite spots in the neighborhood. Keep up the good work.
Great place/space to watch an NFL game. The funny videos during the commercial breaks makes this place unique. Good service. Good ambience. Good beer selection. Average food
Blackhawks HQ bar, excellent selection of beers and food is above average bar bars. Cool booths, lots of TV's.
Great food and a good place to watch a game. Lots of tvs. Nice fireplace too.
Went to the boundary on a Friday night early and had a good time. Because we didn't order any alcohol upfront, the very attentive waitress became very not attentive. Given that our bill was 50 dollars and we had planned on ordering wine with our meal, we didn't since the waitress was such a high ticket snob. We went elsewhere after dinner and had a few drinks. Not to mention dessert, do they have dessert....I guess not, we never were asked. Will we be back, can we make this waitress isn't there?
Absolutely great food, great atmosphere. Went for a friend's birthday and would definitely go back again!
Almost like you are intruding on a close group of friends if you are not at the bar, this place is good for an easy-going beer drinking group but I would not take an older couple (my parents) here. The staff all hung out at the end of the bar while we were seated at the front so people walking by would see that some people were actually there. It is a very big place so not very cozy, making you feel like you are not cool because you don't work there or know anyone that does.
Great food. Great service what more could you want and brunch that offers champagne bar(fix it yourself mimosas). AWESOME!!!
A bit nicer than your typical sports bar. Upscale bar food. I had the chicken salad and it was quite good. Lots of TV's for sports viewing. The staff was friendly.
