Casual dinner after the Cubs game. Our friends and I had a blast. Our server, Ty, was so personable and considerate. He catered to our needs with a smile and a great sense of humor to match our energy as well as silliness! All and all our dining experience was very memorable 🙂

The server was not very interested in serving us, and didn't want to put in food for us before the happy hour ended, because he wanted to charge full price. Also, I received my bill, and he went to run my card and it came back 5 dollars more expensive without the itemize receipt. I ended up having to dispute the charges with my credit card company, pretty shady and disappointed.

We were not even able to eat and enjoy ourselves at Boundary because after making a reservation a week in advance, when we showed up for our 7pm reservation, we were told that all the tables were full do to people watching games and no one has gotten up yet but they will let us know when a table becomes available. At 7:30 when we were still not seated we asked how much longer it would be and were told they still had no idea and that the restaurant was not even supposed to take reservations that day (even though i did make one and got a confirmation the day before). We ended up leaving at 7:40 and going next door where we were seated immediately, watched the game and ate dinner. TERRIBLE SERVICE. They shouldn't take reservations if you are not going to honor them.

Made a reservation day-of to watch Saints-Rams no problem, which was nice. No complaints about service, and a happy surprise with all the games and shuffleboard in the corner which we took advantage of. My brother had the grilled chicken sandwich with chili on the side, dad and I both got burgers. Dad loved his, but my brother and were a little let down. Patty came out a little on the cool side, which was a surprise for the amount of time they took to come out. Either not fresh or took too long to run. Lacked a little in character, not a very discernible flavor from the burger. I tried the chili my brother did not like and was also let down, looked and tasted a little closer to sloppy joe mix. Best things about this spot is the TV's, ample seating and shuffleboard.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I have been here twice now, and after the first time, i didn't think it could get any worse...it did. When your server doesn't come to your table for over 40 minutes, go to the back of the bar, you can usually find all of the servers laughing and having a good time while ignoring their tables. Don't bother asking the hostess to send over your server, they're usually too busy on their phones to care. When you do get a server to the table, order everything at once. It will take even longer for the server to come back with your drinks, and you could possible die of starvation. If you go for a bottomless Brunch, DO NOT order a Bloody Mary, no matter how badly you want one. The tomato juice is thick and bland, there couldn't have been more than a TBSP of vodka in it and it took 20 minutes to get one. Ask for a pitcher of water, otherwise you'll never get more than the first glass. The natural lighting is the best part about this place. But there are way better bars in the neighborhood, don't waste your time.

Horrible service. From the moment we arrived it was difficult to even get waters for the table, it took forever. Clearly they were understaffed and we were cognizant of that however we were completed ignored for a majority of our time there. We ordered beers and drinks at the same time as apps and got the food before the drinks and had to again ask for the beers. Getting the checks was a nightmare...our waiter said he divided them by seat number however 10/11 of the bills had problems where people were charged for others orders. One check had to be redone 3 times before it was correct. Food was alright but the dissatisfaction with the service made it worse. Won’t be coming back.

Food was just okay. Bloody Mary bar was just okay. I went with a group of 8 for brunch and our waitress was no where to be found the majority of the time we were there. I would understand her absence if the place was busy, but we were one of 3 groups in the whole restaurant. When we did see her she was too busy chatting with other staff or on her phone to ask if we needed anything. While we were there, a customer (who was obviously too drunk to stand) puked on the wall and al over the women’s bathroom floor-there was no hurry to clean it up. Overall, I’ve heard great things. I was excited to try a new Iowa bar in the city, but you could not pay me to go back.

The food at the table next to looked great! We were seated right away, after 10 minutes the hostess came back and asked if we had a server. We didn't and she said she'd get one. We waited another 10 minutes before leaving with no one coming by with a water or menu. I'd understand if it was busy, but we were 2 of 4 people in the place. Again the food looked good, just never got a chance to try it.

I absolutely love going to The Boundary just because I get to slam on their amazing burgers while drinking a beer to some live baseball or basketball. Unfortunately this last time I went, they had a low food stock. Burger buns were switched out (I'm guessing they had run out), no tater tots, and no giant pretzels. Pretty bummed since I brought a friend there for the first time.. Overall though, I'll continue coming to The Boundary just because its super cozy and the staff goes above and beyond. Super friendly! Plus the set up is perfect for watching your everyday live sports.

I will not recommend this place to anyone but people who has no where else to go to. It started when we walked in, the host was not pleasant (wrong job to be in). After we ordered, drinks and food didn't take too long (best part of the night). The food was bad. Clam Chower was terrible. Steak salad had a piece of hair in it. Meatloaf was okay (edible). Chicken pot pie was good. Our server was nice and friendly at the time, until............ we paid the bill. She thought we didn't tip and ran to her manager and presented him with 2 receipts that didn't have tip on it. But little did the manager know, she didn't provide him the third receipt that's worth more than 25% tip. He blindedly came to our table with those two receipts and asked what was wrong with the service. We were all confused. Then we asked where is the third receipt? He went back to her and came back to apologize. It's unacceptable when the manager doesn't have that knowledge to actually review this whole story before coming at us like that. It totally ruined our night. He offered to get us a round of drinks, but that doesn't fix anything. Good luck The Boundaries..

A table wasn't ready for us, but they righted that wrong by giving my friend and I the first round of drinks for free without me asking. Very friendly of the manager who did that. However, I found it somewhat in poor taste to turn off a muted Chicago Blackhawks game to blast the Rachel Maddow show at a loud volume on a Tuesday night. I think people at a bar would much rather watch the local hockey team than listen to politics!

What you'll get here is a grown up version of a frat party. Lots of booze, sports, and not so healthy but totally delicious food. Great place to go as your last stop of the night or want to watch the game, but it's not a place I'd recommend if you're going on a date or trying to catch up with a friend.

The Boundary used to be one of my favorites in the neighborhood. Unfortunately I won't be visiting again. Chalk it up to personal preference but we much preferred the interior before they remodeled. The comfortable booths are gone replaced by high top benches/tables. I don't know what the motivation was but it looks like they were going for more capacity. The service was painfully slow in spite of the fact that there weren't too many other patrons. The staff was friendly but it appeared they had our server covering half the restaurant. Our first drink order took 15 to 20 minutes to arrive. The server proactively offered to comp that round of drinks but they did indeed bill us for them. The food was good but not outstanding. The service was slow the entire visit. All in all, it's not a good value and the service leaves a great deal to be desired.
