About The Boon Fly Cafe
Fun, lively, and vibrant, The Boon Fly Café serves modern rustic cuisine in a contemporary roadhouse atmosphere. Start your day with our signature Boon Fly donuts, and end it with our award-winning fried chicken or one of our nightly dinner specials. Resort guests and locals alike are drawn to the energetic vibe and satisfying cuisine that’s based on the agricultural heritage of the region.
Named for a Carneros pioneer named Boon Fly, who planted orchards and vineyards in the area in the mid-1800s, our café is a homage to local flavor.
Boon Fly, descended from settlers of the early New England Colonies, was part of the great tradition of wagon trains that brought many of the early families west. He was drawn to the farmlands north of the city and settled outside of Napa on a property that would become known as the Fly District.

The Boon Fly Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Second time here for dinner, this time with a group of six. The wine was great as were the cocktails. Started with truffle fries...still great. We had a mix of ravioli, short ribs, tuna and fried chicken as our various entrees. We got the macaroni and the smashed potatoes sides. Delish! Everyone loved their entrees. The donuts and the brownie/ice cream desserts were perfect, the red velvet cake a little dry. Our server, Danielle, was flawless. We'll be back!
My husband and I were in the wine country celebrating our anniversary. This was our causal dinner. They made us feel special. Service was a attentive. They waived our corkage fee and brought us a dessert to take back to our room. I'd definitely go back. We have had many prior delicious breakfasts there and now I consider it a great dinner spot too!
The fried chicken was excellent. I would suggest putting the mashed potatoes in the center of the plate instead of on the side.; that way they'd stay warm because my mashed potatoes got cold quickly. The collard greens were okay but I like them sliced thinly - they were kinda thick. My husband's burger was perfect and my daughter inhaled the salmon. Our waiter was wonderful and even though my daughter ruined the evening, I still look fondly upon our meal. 😉
The staff was on top of everything. Seated and was comfortable. The food came out and was delicious! (Kobe beef burgers aren't that pricey) The table next to us struck up and conversation and was warm and friendly. Then we got dessert which was phenominal! Can't wait to go back, highly reccomended!
Kobe burger was wonderful and enjoyed the Flatbread veggie pizza. Desert pear compote with huckleberry ice cream was also tops. friendly ambiance but not too noisy. staff pleasant and meal service was fast. Nice short walk from my Carneros Inn accommodation.
Wednesday Dinner. Greeted warmly, service was sharp but friendly without a rush. Loved the jalapeño artichoke dip. The gimlet had plenty of gin :) the draft beer was limited but complimented the food perfectly. Again limited wine list but I liked what I saw. The burger was cooked perfect and the lady's shrimp and grits was cleaned off her plate with nary a sound. Cornbread muffins with honey butter.....honey butter is the balls. Ended the meal with an espresso actually made correctly!!! The wife's coffee was the worst thing we had, too bitter even with cream.
Well worth the price. Will go back.
We loved Boon Fly so much we came 3 times in 5 days--twice for dinner; once for breakfast. Danielle was our server both nights and she was a delight. We love the Kobe Beef Burgers, the onion rings, the fries... and it all goes so well with a bottle of bubbly. Also loved the Green Eggs and Ham (and freshly made donuts) for breakfast on our way out of town. Already can't wait for our next trip--we'll never miss an opportunity to visit Boon Fly if we're anywhere in the area.
