Start your day with our signature Boon Fly donuts, and end it with our award-winning fried chicken or one of our nightly dinner specials. Resort guests and locals alike are drawn to the energetic vibe and satisfying cuisine that’s based on the agricultural heritage of the region.
Named for a Carneros pioneer named Boon Fly, who planted orchards and vineyards in the area in the mid-1800s, our café is a homage to local flavor.
Boon Fly, descended from settlers of the early New England Colonies, was part of the great tradition of wagon trains that brought many of the early families west. He was drawn to the farmlands north of the city and settled outside of Napa on a property that would become known as the Fly District.

The Boon Fly Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Terrific food in a fun, casual environment. The menu has great options and the pricing is more than fair. Good wine list, as you would expect. The Carneros location is perfect for those who can't decide to head to Napa or Sonoma. Split the difference. Only downside on last visit was our party of 6 was seated at a table for 4. Very uncomfortable. Had made the reservations a couple of weeks in advance, and if they couldn't accommodate that size party comfortably, they should have just said so.
My husband and I went to the Boon Fly Café for an early dinner. We were in Napa enjoying a winery party and this restaurant was centrally located to the event.
The food was good, served timely and our food server was very professional and friendly.
Parking can be limited, but we were able to find a spot. The restaurant was pretty busy for 6PM, but the kitchen seemed to handle the rush just fine.
My husband and I both agreed we'd go back there again, even though Napa is a bit out of our way.
We enjoyed our visit...until next time!
We have been to Boon Fly Cafe many times & are never disappointed. We often have the fried chicken because it is absolutely delicious but this time went with a flat bread & it was lovely. And we ALWAYS have the donuts for dessert - we simply cannot resist!! Wonderful as always...
It was beyond surreal how many flies there were. Hundreds? Anyway, our kids immediately got coloring books and sippy cups — nice! The server also brought their food out first. (Great service for adults too.) As for food, the dark meat fried chicken was excellent, whereas the white meat was dry. The burnt ends fall far short of Mighty Quinn's in NYC, much less great local places in the Deep South, because they didn't have a smokey flavor and were a bit dry. (The BBQ sauce was good, and the pickles were a hit.) The cornbread was soft like spongecake and lacked flavor. The margarita pizza was very good. The smoked salmon pizza (with capers) was like having lox and a schmear as a pizza. (It didn't work for me, but my wife liked it.) I want to give over 3 stars because of the service but just can't because the food was so hit-and-miss.
We live in Napa and have been here before. This was a last minute reservation that my wife did not know about. She got there earlier with her sister and had just about finished their dinner when I got there. They moved us to a table for 3 and I still got the credit. Even though it was out of order I got my dinner and they got their desserts all at the same time. Now, that's good service.
We were disappointed with our recent visit to Boon Fly for dinner. We had a reservation and we were not seated until 20 minutes after our reserved time, and there were multiple open tables when we walked in. The hostess also seemed bothered that we asked twice if our table was ready after we waited 10 and 15 minutes. We had 2 virgin mules at the bar which were fantastic, and the bar tender was great. When we were finally seated, we were bothered by the flies. There were a lot of flies in the restaurant, makes it seem unsanitary. The food was just okay. Our table had Brussels sprouts, corn bread, and tempura like seafood for starters that came out quickly and were good. We had the steak, homemade pasta, and fried chicken for our mains, and they were all good, but not outstanding. We were disappointed that they did not have any ice cream for dessert, but we tried the donuts which were tasty and good for sharing. We'll probably come back again, as we have had better experiences in the past, but Boon Fly missed the mark on this visit.
The food and drinks were great. Amazing service! I have lived in the area for a while. This was the first time I went there. I was out taking my wife and parents wine tasting. We went to Jameson and Domaine Caneros ( 2 of my favorites). All of us really enjoyed it. I recommend the pizza and the Makers Mark Mule.
This place never disappoints! Drinks are bomb. Food, delicious. This recent visit, we had cornbread to start. Highly recommend, has buttery and bacon flavor. For the mains, we had the fried chicken (You get like half a chicken!) And a margherita flatbread with Italian sausage. For two, we ended up with take home. All was wonderful.
Food and service was good not great. There was a heatwave and the cafe was no less than 85 degrees inside. Had to beg for water, and they finally left a pitcher at the table. Freezer broke, so no ice cream and other things were affected. It was a bad day for them and their guests.
I almost hate to write a good review because then EVERYBODY will go here and it's a great find! This is a great local place to have dinner with friends or a special occasion. We were impressed with the taste and portions. The salmon was so fresh, I wanted more KFC the next day and there was so much flat iron steak I had leftovers. Don't forget to save room for the donuts. You WILL want to dip them in the chocolate sauce. Hadley is a friendly server as are the rest. Try and keep this a Napa secret if you can.
