The Bonneville is a chef owned and operated, upscale casual, New American restaurant run by the husband and wife team of Chris Hurley and Jennifer Costello. Our style is Classic New American Bistro, offering a variety of dining options that change according to the seasonality of ingredients and the whims of the chefs. Although we’re both classically trained in French technique, our style draws on influences from across the globe, focusing on the quality, accessibility and availability of ingredients to drive the menu. The Bonneville is a bright, open and inviting spot with a lively bar, wonderfully friendly service, and cozy corners.....a casual, comfortable place to grab a quick bite or linger over dinner.

Your service has been way too slow the last two times. Restaurant was a third full, and it too 10 minutes for drinks and 20 for appetizers, then another 15 for main course.

This place is a "hidden" gem- right close to many great restaurants, but yet off the beaten path by a block. Our meal was great, and the place was fairly empty after a big graduation party left. The lamb shank was perfectly prepared. The wine list, though small, has some good choices that complement the menu items well. I can't wait to go back for a Sunday Brunch- that menu looks great also!

Excellent food and service. Really liked the Ploughman's Platter appetizer. Wine was nicely paired with the entree - one pork chop and one smoked trout. The Sticky toffee desert with decaf coffee topped the meal off nicely.

WOW! First we started our Mother’s Day Brunch with a carafe of mimosas and the Homemade Pop Tart, Popovers, and the Pecan Sticky Bun. Heaven. All three were complete Heaven!! We had the Steak & Eggs, Breakfast Pizza, Goat Cheese and Heirloom Tomato Tart and the Chipotle Lime Chicken Hash. Each dish had unique flavors and presentation and were abundantly flavorful. Our server was attentive, funny and had great suggestions! We will definitely be back!!!!

Great food. Poor service. Very slow. We asked in advance to expedite only one of our meals for a guest who had to leave to catch a flight and nothing was done. She had to cancel her order and leave without food.

The staff was super friendly and attentive and made us feel so special. Unfortunately the Waygu ribeye was all gristle and almost inedible. But they comped us and were so nice. Overall we had a wonderful time and everything else was really delicious.

Creative, inventive menu and excellent execution! I had seared scallops on a crispy rice bed with grapefruit nage -- for the second time! It was delicious. My husband had the Wagyu beef stroganoff. The wine selection is lovely and the atmosphere modern, welcoming and refreshingly quiet such that we could have delightful conversation over dinner. Our server Sam was attentive and took great care of us. We'll be back!

It was a Sunday evening and my husband and I were the only guests at the restaurant. Food was good but not exceptional for the price. Ambiance was cute but suffered for lack of other patrons.

We only had dessert both times we visited. But they were outstanding! I heard from a friend that their Happy Hour is also fantastic but we didn't get to try it.

The price they charge is not reflected in the dishes they serve. All the dishes were really unexceptional. Many Austin restaurants provide better food for cheaper. Almost all of their customers looked like older wealthy people so they probably didn't mind being overcharged for the food. Their scallops even had an odd bitter after-taste.

Delicious, great service, good atmosphere. The waitstaff was attentive, the redfish was excellent. The LED lights with the tiny fake succulents glued to them were kind of weird but otherwise the vibe was cool.

As usual, the food at The Bonneville was excellent! I had the pork chop for the first time; it was perfectly cooked and the spice blend had just enough heat. The coconut rice was a perfect balance to the spice rub on the chop. This might be my new favorite.

I requested a substitution of the sides to my entree, selecting from other sides prepared for other entrees, and I was told, the chef has carefully coordinated the menu and will not make substitutions. Really? I wasn't asking for anything prepared especially for me. I simply don't eat the sides that were paired with my entree choice, and as a paying customer, I think my request was more than reasonable. Consequently, I ordered something different. It was okay, but my appetite was already spoiled by the chef's attitude. The chef's arrogance completely outweighs any concept of customer care. My husband and I will not be back.

They had a set menu for Valentine’s Day that was not advertised on Open Table. Very limited and very expensive. We should have walked out but other reservations were not available at the time.

The restaurant was nice and service was excellent, but we weren’t aware it was a prix fixe event for Valentine’s Day which I believe lowered the standards of the quality of the meal. Some courses the flavor was there but the texture was off, other times the flavor was off and things were undercooked or over cooked. Wasn’t worth the price at all and while I was really excited about eating there I don’t know if I would go back again to even give it another try.

Was wonderful, great taste, great location, maybe I’m a bit biased, but I think that the price would have been better if the portions weren’t extremely tiny. Otherwise the service was fantastic, ambiance was lovely and I would return if I knew that I was getting more for my money in terms of portion per course.

The restaurant was basically empty which we found disconcerting. Nevertheless, we persisted.

The server seemed very nice and very new. We ordered a few appetizers to share as a meal. They weren't great. We had some service issues. It was expensive. We ate and paid and left, feeling super disappointed.

THEN. I posted about my experience on my food Insta, @snackno. The restaurant responded -- not with hostility per se, but definitely in a defensive and not cool way. You have to look and see.

We just discovered what a gem Bonneville is! The menu was lovely - not overwhelming. Excellent cocktails. The charcuterie board was one of the best we have ever had. Well portioned, flavorful entrees and wonderfully, attentive and engaging service.

My wife’s resolution is to be more environmentally conscious (and earn a tax credit) so she took delivery of her new Tesla at the last minute. We decided to celebrate by trying someplace new downtown and turn in early when I came across The Bonneville on OpenTable. Menu looked good, but it was fixed this night. I read something about freeing Brady and F Goodell on their website so I was immediately sold. Awesome experience. 4 course meal with champagne and wine pairings for $110 per person ($75 without the wine). Service was friendly and helpful. Pacing was on point. Food was interesting. We each made sure to try different things so we were able to sample 2/3 of the menu. Pear/truffle soup and duck confit salad are not things we’d likely order, but we’re glad we did. Main courses of filet and scallops rival any preparation in town. The milky way tart and orange creme brûlée rounded things out with some kind of local coffee alcohol drink as the perfect finish. No better way to start a year. Check this place out. Go Pats! Go 2019!
