The Boiling Pot - Old City
The Boiling Pot Sauce, Garlic Butter, Lemon Pepper, Cajun, or Old Bay. Come in today and explore the goodies under the sea!
Amazing time. Would definitely try again
I already recommend it to all my friends. I will be a frequent customer!!
I had the boil which included potatoe, andouille sausage, corn and my choice of: shrimp, crawfish, mussels and the boiling pot seasoning. Food was seasoned well and tasty. The sausage was kind of cold but didn’t take away from it. Server was attentive. I would definitely go back and recommend.
The wait was crazy even though we had a reservation we still had to wait a hour on top of sitting us next to an open window even though it was below 30 degrees we had to eat with our coats on
The music was the best part of this dining experience. The restaurant only offered a prix fixe menu on this night, a fact that was not indicated when we made the reservation. There were several other customers sitting near us who were disgruntled to have had the same experience. There were two dinners from which to choose: one for $100 per couple and one for $130 per couple. Each came with lemonade as the only drink option. Each came with a choice of salad and a choice of two entrees from a list of five. No sides. Dessert was one slice of cake to be shared. No coffee available. The wait staff spent most of the time on the side talking to each other and never checked on us after the mediocre, heavily-sauced, too salty food was served. Would never return.
Pre fix menu not good over priced
Too much noise and food was not all that good at all this was my first time going there and last to be honest
No clean wine glasses !! Service was poor. Food was good doubt we’ll go back.
The restaurant was recently opened but the food and service was good.
Food was great and was accompanied with great service from the staff. Our server Rob valued our time and experience. I’m from Baltimore therefore I love seafood. This was the best seafood I’ve tasted in Philly.
I expected the food to taste better. Was bland at best.
It was great !
We didn’t know that it was BYOB. The server who sat was not helpful. Our glasses was dirty. The food was not to be expected. It wasn’t hot when they brought it out, it was like warm.
I told all my friends about this place and they said, they will be visiting this place real soon. The server was polite and told us everything about the menu. We will be returning soon. Thank you.
Please have Rob serve you. We waited forever for service , once he came to our table everything changed. The food was wonderful!
I loved it just wish they had a variety of music
Must love garlic. The seafood was really good. The calamari was great. We ordered the mid side pot for four and added an extra appetizer. My husband loves crabs legs and was not disappointed. They are still a BYO but the liquor license may come in any day. Until then, they are giving out complimentary wine and beer. Also loved the Motown soundtrack. A fun night out.
Annual Pollyanna it was great music quick service pricing was OK atmosphere was nice for the occasion. Love the byob.
Fantastic. Server was outstanding, funny and personable and on point. Food was incredible, this place is gonna be a huge hit once more people know about it! Get there before the masses.
They were out of a few items we wanted to order, but the food and service were excellent.
Delicious! Had a great dining experience. Will definitely go back again
If I could put 0 stars I could. The food was so bad it was inedible and server expected us to pay for food we could not eat. DO NOT GO HERE- save your time and money. Awful experience and wish we didn’t waste our vacation time.
Restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived, server who sat us was nice, and gave us the option to sit anywhere we liked. The menu was ok, there were a few items that peeked my interest but I ended up going with AYCE Crab Legs. They were fair, not a lot of meat Inside so I went for a refill. They also come with 2 small ears of corn and 2 red potatoes. They do not have a liquor license yet. The server offered beer and wine however they were out of wine. I suggested that he go to the store less than 500 feet away or ask someone who was not doing anything. He declined, this is where he lost with me. Why wouldn’t you go above and beyond to make the customer happy as you are a new restaurant who relies on customer reviews. Overall, it was average, I may go back but I doubt it.
Over priced, limited sides
Great but needs there liquor license asap lol
Seafood is fresh and cooked perfectly. Different spices and heat are options. The Menu is prefixed with pot sizes be ready to share. They do have alternate dishes but only cooked by the pound.
It’s a great place to sit and get casual over mostly finger and fork eating.
Nice and unique neighborhood gem.
It was our first time at this establishment. We saw it driving by one day and wanted to try it out. We had no idea what to expect but it exceeded any expectations we had. Food was succulent and seasoned to perfection. Rob, our waiter was very pleasant and accommodating. My husband is usually very particular and kept commenting on how great the seafood was. We ordered the large bowl for $160.00 and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed our meal and the entire experience immensely. We are already planning to return with friends.
The place was good, the environment was nice. The food was good, very fresh, but the only issue for me was the level of spicy. Despite I requested the food not spicy, the food itseft was too spicy and I couldn't enjoy it. The lava cake was delicious.
Excellent new place. Service was outstanding. Soup was incredible. Price was reasonable. You get a lot of food in the boils. Bring your own wine. The liquor license is in limbo.
The shrimp boil was great!! Wings were crispy delicious, good service. They are still waiting on their liquor license, served us complimentary wine. Would definitely recommend!
Eating at The Boiling Pot is a must in Philly!! The food was great and Rob made the experience even better!! Definitely ask for Rob if you are there, he made some excellent suggestions.
What a fantastic spot!!. Fresh seafood-including crab, shirimp, clams and more—-Ask for Rob. Great server and great guy. Very knowledgeable and attentive. We will be back for sure!!!
It was good
The location is easily accessible and the BYOB was awesome. We loved the wine with the seafood but the shrimp was over cooked. Everything had a delicious flavor but I definitely wish there were freshly steamed veggies available or something to break it all up. Service was slow and awkward but the flavor of everything was well worth the night out. Will be back!
The food was good, but no liquor license. No one was there because of that. The service wasn’t that good. The waitress was not paying much attention to us even we were the only one there
Out of blue crab, dregs of King crab, out of only dessert on the menu. Had to get up & ask for everything we wanted.... Meh.
Food was good, but the service was horrible!
Wonderful seafood assortment prepares beautifully. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and evening! Already have recommended this place to friends!
The boiling pot was a great spot located in the heart of old city. Very convenient to transportion via uber, train or bus.
I love the fact it was BYOB and I found a great wine spot a block away. Food was excellent if you are a seafood lover. I received excellent service from a very special server named Darius. From the moment I walk in greeting us and every guest with a genuine smile to helping out my server who was extremely busy. Even when he wasn’t our server he went above and beyond his duty: open our wine bottle to the whole dining experience. I was saddened he wasn’t our permanent server. I want to let the owner and others know if you come to the Boiling Pot there is great food and service from Darius who needs to be commended with 10 plus rating.
I was very disappointed with my experience here. The sauce was too oily, had a bad smell and after taste as though it was on the verge of going bad. wanted to have a good time with friends but we were not impressed. We had to walk couple blocks to get drinks afterward.
