Boiler House Texas Grill & Wine Garden is a true Texas original. Situated in the historic Pearl Brewery complex on the San Antonio River Walk, this wine-centric restaurant occupies the former “boiler house” which powered the adjacent brewery. The menu focuses on grilled items from local farms and markets, with a focus on “Texas ranch-style” cuisine. These delicacies are paired with extraordinary wines from around the world (all available by the glass, bottle and “to-go”), full bar, live music and a casual yet energetic atmosphere. The unique list of wines boasts some of the lowest prices in the area.

The restaurant incorporates various private dining areas suitable for private or corporate functions and an expansive outdoor patio area where guests can enjoy dining alfresco. Catering is also available at the restaurant or at a location of your choice.

Our waiter was absolutely excellent. He was very attentive, but not overly aggressive or bothersome. Because it was prom weekend for that area, they had run out of a few menu items, but the waiter's alternative suggestions were excellent. The food was superb and very delicious. For our reservation, I made a note to be seated outside and our table was ready right away. It was a lovely evening, perfect for patio dining. Their outdoor area is very quiet and romantic. Their drink menu and wine list is remarkable, something for everyone. I recommend this establishment to anyone visiting this area.

Everything was great until one of our guests pulled a hair out of his mouth, at least 12” long from one of the appetizers 4 of us were sharing. It was the the cheese board with assorted meats They offered us another appetizer but we declined because we were ready to order dinner. They didn’t take the appetizer with the extra hair off our bill. They offered us a complimentary dessert which was nice. If it weren’t for the hair in the food everything would have been perfect. All our meals were cooked to perfection and I’ll definitely go back because there’s no such thing as a perfect evening. Stuff happens.

What a wonderful meal we had here!! My husband and I were visiting San Antonio and read good reviews about the restaurants at the Pearl Brewery complex so decided to check out this place. There is plenty of parking nearby. Let me tell you, the wine list is very good , which pleased my husband, and there are many signature cocktails and brews from which to choose. We were hungry, so decided to share 4 small plates, we had the smoked bacon avocado spread which was a large scoop of mashed perfectly seasoned avocado with smoked pork belly( bacon) served with toast. The delicious cabrito with polenta came bubbling hot in its own small skillet and was so filling that we couldn’t come close to finishing it.. we also had grilled octopus with the.most amazing Serrano chili marinated watermelon - I highly recommend this innovative dish. We we stuffed by the end of the meal- the portion sizes are generous so keep that in mind when ordering. The waiters were plentiful and attentive , and the noise level was not bad. We will definitely return here the next time we are in town!!!!

Service was great, table was ready right away and our waiter greeted us for our special occasion. Food was excellent. I highly recommend the cod and the shrimp appetizer. So many wines couldn’t decide but our waiter recommended one.

Very cool spot - friendly service with well done food. The octopus was tender, bison meatballs delicious! They could have been my dinner! I took a group of people for dinner and all of our meals were excellent. Try the pork shank! You won't be disappointed.

Being forced to choose Yes or No on the question of whether I would recommend Boiler House, I chose Yes; however, I would prefer to respond "maybe." Our experience started out fine; but management had clearly not planned for the crowds of people in San Antonio for the NCAA tournament: they were out of numerous entrees on their menu. Our server raved and raved about a couple of items my friends ordered, only to return to the table to say they'd run out of them. That really takes the wind out of one's sails. We liked the industrial chic look of the place, and the location in the Pearl Brewery complex is edgy and cool. The food was fine but not memorable. Out server was a nice kid but struggled to cover for the lack of food on-hand. I wouldn't return here.

The menu on-line may not be the menu you find at the restaurant so we were initially disappointed, but we ultimately really enjoyed the items we selected. The waiter could have been more attentive - he never came by to see if we wanted another cocktail. The manager was great, she stopped by to see how we were doing and brought us a taste of another item to enjoy. Really cute, rustic ambiance.

Well, the drinks and the Brussels sprouts were good. I had the skirt steak and Mac and cheese. Both were marginal. My wife had a crab stuff fish of some sort. She said it really didn’t have much flavor. Should have gone to Ruth’s Chris for what we paid. Oh well.

I highly recommend The Boiler House. The food is superb and the service was great. My only complaint is the kitchen and servers didn't seem to know where plate of food belonged. Our dinner was constantly interrupted by wait staff asking if we ordered what they were holding.

My cousin and I came for dinner. We ordered the cheese plate plus cured meat. In total, it was approx. $24 for the cheese/meat plate. There was very little meat, two teenie-tiny 2” wedge slices of mortadella. We had to ask for more bread 3 times. The bill was very high $59 for a cheese plate and we shared a meal. Definitely NOT worth the cost!

Extremely overpriced. Guests are only paying for the location, not for quality food. Server was alright, food was not worth the cost.

I had a reservation, and they sat us about 3 feet away from the restroom, which smelled terrible. We asked to be moved to a different table, which they accomodated, but the waiter couldn't have been less attentive. My $50 steak was almost too salty to eat. I would not eat here again.
