The Boil Waverly Ratings and Reviews
Everything was good, but I just couldn't understand why the hostess booked my table to another group when I was still occupying the table and just got my food. Told us she couldn't serve us any alcohol, we'd have to go to the bar. Manager came and took care of the problem. Every time I think I've found a great spot to dine something like this also comes about.😅😅😅😅😅
The Boil on Waverly is a much bigger space than the one further downtown. That one is noisier and more of a front bar crowd scene. The one on Waverly is much more comfortable seating-wise. It too can be loud and rowdy and fun but it can also be calmer and just about eating really good seafood in a nice and dirty fashion. Food’s basic and great, add some jazz and it’s almost like being in NOLA!
We have been to The Boil a few times and it has been on a steady decline. The host staff act like mean girls instead of gracious hosts and sat us 30 minutes after our 9:00 p.m. reservation. The snow crab was over cooked. The table and bar service was pleasant this time but it’s hit or miss. They don’t even have hot water to wash your hands with in the bathroom. I think this will be our last time visiting.
The food was delicious and the drinks and atmosphere were awesome. The only issue we had was the restrooms. The water at the sink was freezing cold and the toilet water was low so you had to hold the handle for a long time to get it to flush. At one point, an employee had to add water to the toilet to get it to flush.
We are charged 20% auto gratuity. Because we are FOUR (4) of us. I don’t mind to leave more than that. But our server was very mean and wasn’t helpful at all. The other server and a busser were very nice and kind. Food was okay but it wasn’t even warm when we got boil bags. Definitely overpriced(a bowl of rice is $4). In addition, they take cash only!!
came here at the recommendation of a friend, after which I immediately made reservations for that night to dine with my family. we ordered the crab and crawfish combo, lobster and shrimp combo, and an extra lobster for good measure. we chose the sauces garlic butter (butter so thick and flavorful with the garlic) and the house cajun sauce (spicy with a good kick!). seafood was fresh, and it was fun eating it with our hands since they gave us gloves, a bib, and some shelling tools for the seafood. the combos come with corn and potatoes, which served as good starches to complement the seafood. we also ordered the chicken tenders basket to start, which came with cajun fries as well. highly recommend. this place is larger than their LES location (I think) so it might be easier to get a table. will be coming back here with more friends!
They didn't have my reservation in their system, and there was not heat or hot water on one of the coldest nights in NYC. Disappointing... Food was delicious, first server less than to be desired, second server very good, and the bus person cleaned the table while we were still sitting there. This usually happens once you leave. A little courtesy goes a long way.
The Boil on Chrystie is usually packed so we decided to try this one. I was shocked that it was quite empty. I’m sure the fact it was NYE played a part as well. Anywho, the service was great and the food was good.
My friend & I ordered the king crab legs and shrimp. We had them tossed in the boil signature sauce with a medium spice level.
While, it was good, I prefer Claw Daddy’s and Hot N Juicy. Corn and potatoes come with each item and you get more for your money.
The food and service is wonderful! On our first trip there we met and fell in love with Jenny and then on this night, 12/29/17, we met another Jenny! All I can say is that these women are amazing! The bartenders, guys that serve the food and clean up are just as cool. Great time all around. Highly recommend!
I scouted this place out in advance as we were visiting from out of town and wanted to give my husband a great seafood dinner on his birthday. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, the atmosphere lively and great value for money in the city! Highly recommend this place but worth noting- it is cash only.
When making the reservation we did not know what to expect but after going and seated , it was the best decision!
We had an amazing waitress..... right away we were very comfortable!
When our food came (OMG) that was the fun part !
Everything about the food was delicious, tasty ! (WOW)
Thank you The Boil !
The environment was a great one. The service was amazing. The young lady who tended to our table was very courteous and seemed very caring about how we felt at the time. The food was great and was an even better experience. It's children friendly and a good place to catch up with friends and have fun. I give "The Boil" two thumbs up and will definitely recommend it to friends.
