IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE.
Really good food. Fast service. Would go back
Love this place!! It’s a must go!
great down home cajun seafood. excellent shrimp and crab and appetizers. good beer and cocktails. fun setting with great service. but very weird to eat with plastic bib and latex gloves. if you're not comfortable with that, don't go.
The crab legs and shrimp were a bit over cooked but flavorful.
Had a great time n my server was the bomb!!! Food n drinks were on point!!! Would definitely come back
Food was great split two bags with 3 other friends , I.T was worth our money food came quick
This restaurant was recommended by friends and I was NOT disappointed. It's a relaxed Cajun feel. The food is ridiculously good. I had the fried catfish and snow crab legs and it's THE BEST I've had, no exaggeration. The meat is moist and delicious. Most places either over cook the crab legs or they're old because the 'meat' is chewy or rubbery, at The Boil, both the catfish and the crab meat melt in your mouth. I will be going back.
The Boil is never a disappointment. I go here with friends at least 2x a month. Sometimes even solo. Haven’t had seafood anywhere this flavorful. You will love it!
Excellent service and very good food. You can only use cash. Loved the crab cake appetizer (the crab cake, the slaw it was served on & the sauce were all excellent). Loved the mac & cheese. Loved the crabs served in garlic butter the house’s cajun seasoning. We didn’t order the shrimp bc they had heads attached & were not deveined (that was kind of disappointing). I wouldn’t order the southern fried chicken wings again. Our mixed drinks were good too. Atmosphere was good.
The food is AMAZING!!! I’m a Louisiana girl and use to seafood that is well seasoned. This place is hands down the best I’ve ever had. A reservation is necessary unless you don’t mind waiting 2 hours but the food never disappoints!!!
... GOOD EXPERIENCE...
Great place for families and friends. Best seafood and drinks! Reservations are a must because it gets pack especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Definitely worth the wait. Great for birthdays, girls night out or a casual dinner date. We’ll be going back soon! Can’t wait!
One of the best places for crab! Love the garlic butter + o'bay the best! Fast service great price - just remember to bring cash although they do have an atm at the front.
Great food!!! Quick also!!
The shrimp was mushy, and hard to peel. This is a sigh of improper handling or other bad news.
Had a great time and can’t wait to return
This place is bigger than the other place on Chrystie St. I enjoyed the food and it’s slightly expensive. Our waitress was great and deaf friendly, so nothing bad about her!
Great food friends just getting together everyone enjoyed it. Cant wait to go back
It’s a fun experience and tasty, it is a little messy but they help with bins and gloves. Can’t be afraid to dig in. Spicy boil wasn’t as spicy as I expected... but it wasn’t the hottest option.
The food exceeded my expectation. I actually licked my gloved fingers several times after finishing my shrimp in garlic sauce.......the sauce is to die for.....the portion is generous.
I poached some of my daughters crab and loved that too.
We were a large group.....15 people.....so it took some time to order and receive our food and there was a little mixup with who ordered what and we never figured out who our waitress was as we had so many various staff bringing/ doing something or the other at our table. We had to chase someone down for the check even though the table had been cleared for several minutes and we were just sitting there.
Enjoyed every bit of the food will be back soon
Great time as usual
The food was great the wine was on point
It was my husband's 53 birthday. He really enjoyed it. He is still talking about it.
Food was Great. Only complaint is that I felt like we were being rushed to order, to be served and to bring the check. Service was so so.
This place is great for seafood lovers. I will definitely be going back!
I loved the boil. The dungeoness crab comes cleaned, the lobster doesn't (head on). But really, get the king crab legs. It doesn't look like a lot but the portion is huge. Don't bother with the snow crab, same as a buffet. The catfish is great, get the appetizer. Also make sure your bag has corn. The potatoes are meh but the corn is wow. Love this place.
This was a birthday dinner for two of us in a group of 7. Everything was wonderful!!!
Loved the food. Good vibes. A little pricey. Could have friendlier service though.
Got a table right when the restuarant opens to avoid crowds. The food was good and delicious as always.
Was disappointed. Didn’t expect a picnic for dinner.
Cash only so be prepared. Don't wear nice clothes. A ton of fun. Crawfish is ok, but no where near NOLA style.
I've been to The Boil five times! I love this place! The food is incredible! Their Boil Special sauce is delicious and their drinks are also really good! I recommend making reservations beforehand because this place does get really crowded. Also, make sure to bring cash beause they don't accept credit/debit cards.
Love this place😘
The food was overpriced. The service was chaotic. I made reservations and was placed right next to the door, and it was freezing. Before even receiving the waters, I asked the hostess if we could move, and she said no because they have other reservations( with the same amount of people as ours) and those tables were saved for them( mind you none of these parties were there). After speaking with the manager, we were finally moved. Once we started to order, I realized that some of the stuff was slighting over priced, when it came to the a la cart items (one dungeoness crab for $35, with no sides). The food was ok, but at the end we were told only cash and that there was an atm at the front of the reataurant. Our bill came up to $177, so in addition to paying that I had to pay the atm a fee of $2.50 just to pay my bill. Not worth it to me
We have been to The Boil at both locations and crave going back on a regular basis. Solid appetizers, really good head on shrimp in bags of tasty spices and butter sauce. Only overall complaint would be that they don't really have a genuine dessert. Fortunately we are usually too stuffed to care.
Good place for date or just hanging out for the weekend. Service, Food and drinks were near perfect ; so I would recommend this the Boil to dine. Thank you for your service . My lady Jenny likes to come here to eat.
We were in a hurry to eat in s group and this place was nearby. The bottom like is that is s good boilup place with good service (including great handling of a shrimp allergy). Negatives: options for.convenient sea food consumption are light (but there are decent other options). The rate of corn and potato to shrimp, crab etc is far too low (about one spud per pound of shelling). And most importantly, a place this expensive can't be cash only!!! Ridiculous. In Manhattan!
