i LOVED BOCUSE RESTAURANT. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND SO WAS THE FOOD. THE WAITER AND WAITRESS WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND THGE CALL OF DUTY TO ASSIST US. IT WAS FUN, THE STUDENTS ARE WELL TRAINED AND PREPARED AND THEIR INTERPERSONAL SKILLS WAS TOP NOTCH.

Staff were most attentive and it is very interesting to observe the students striving so diligently to please.

everything was great except for the misleading info about the prix fixe. when i asked the server i was told i could order anything off the menu. i did not see the fine print and the server did not mention to me only certain items had no additional charge. i really don't blame the server but management should have made certain that the servers advised people of the fine print. that being said the meal and service was enjoyable as usual.

A wonderful experience,beautiful presentation, students were very friendly and attentive. We had the prix fix lunch which was a good value, but otherwise it would be quite expensive.

To start we had the oysters and the goat cheese with red beet place. It was delicious and paired nice with our white wine that was chosen from the iPad. They have a nice and extensive wine selection. Our waiter was very helpful with recommendations as well. For dinner I had the dover sole which had wonderful flavor and sauces with fresh herbs. My companion had the salmon. The piece was decent in size and had nice flavor. Highly recommend both dishes.

Over the past week have visited each of the CIA's three restaurants. While had a good meal at each, the lunch at Bocuse was superior in terms of quality and preparation.

We hadn’t dined at Bocuse for several years. Not sure what about our last experience kept us from returning; something had turned us off the last time. Not thrilled with the ultra modern decor but that wouldn’t have been a deal breaker by itself. Anyway, glad we decided to return. We went for lunch during their winter dining special series: 3 courses-$19. My wife had French onion soup, roast duck breast and vanilla bean creme brûlée. I had pate’, octopus and vanilla creme brûlée. Pinot noir. We had a leisurely, relaxing meal during which we chatted with our student servers (both graduating the next day) about their culinary experiences and plans for their futures. We always are curious about the students. We decided we will return. American Bounty is our favorite followed by Caterina de Medici but Bocuse will remain for future consideration.

We were there to celebrate an 80th Birthday ... it was perfect - from the server to accommodations to the incredible food!!! Thank you Culinary Institute & especially the Bocuse. Marvelous!

Our special occasion dinner at the Bocuse Restaurant turned out to be a fabulous culinary adventure. The food was artfully arranged, and we enjoyed creative preparations of onion soup reinvente, Pekin duck with a shiitake mushroom "shepherds pie" on the side, chicken with date puree and green olive gel, and a dramatic table side ice cream presentation with a trio of apple treats. The student wait staff and sommelier were attentive and knowledgeable. Very special indeed!

This is an absolutely outstanding restaurant. Fabulous service, incredibly delicious food, and beautiful presentation. My daughter and I were treated like royalty! Dining at Bocuse is worth every penny.

The food was good and more importantly the student waitstaff were just charming. It is tough to strike the balance between formal service and stuffiness, and these young people were clearly concerned about getting it perfect! They understandably made some minor errors that I would not have forgiven in any other setting: like lunging for my guest's plate while asking if he were finished (which he was not), and this despite the fact that his fork was still resting on the plate and the table (a signal that you're not done yet). When I politely pointed out this cue to our waitress, she told me she was trained to disregard it and to rather ask Americans if they're done. She said she was trained that only Europeans still use such cues. Shame on that professor. I have to say that I am particularly put off by restaurants who permit waitstaff to remove diners' plates while other guests at the table are still eating. Makes the slower eater feel like you're on display and eating alone, and it's a sign that you're being rushed out the door. Also, the check came, without asking for it, while we were still eating dessert (again makes you feel rushed, even when the waitress says "take your time"). But these are minor flaws in an otherwise delicious meal and charming experience. One final observation: despite being charged full fare, they pour very stingily on the wine (a 3-4 ounce pour is generally what you get in a cheap restaurant); and my martini came in a tiny Manhattan glass! It is very enjoyable watching the orderly and immaculate kitchen preparing your meals with military precision. So different from the chaotic hell holes that are most commercial kitchens! Go! You'll enjoy dining there. Even if my critique pointed out these minor flaws. Could be your kid sweating bullets to please some persnikety old bag like me.

We have dined at the CIA’s many restaurants since relocating here twelve years ago but more frequently at Bocuse and American Bounty. The menu selections and execution are always special.
Regarding the Bocuse menu on the CIA Bocuse website that we checked before making the reservation we were surprised to find a different menu on arrival. Alex Cutler was most accommodating with an explanation as to why we found different selections. He was also attentive in his supervision of our server Chris to provide us with a most enjoyable anniversary dinner. As we are both veterans of the hotel industry, we cannot praise enough Mr. Cutler’s professionalism and decorum.

The Bocuse was a great experience, the cuisine and service was spectacular, the ambiance beautiful, we will definitely return with friends in the future , the presentation was great and the flavor profile also wonderful, if I had to say something not totally positive I felt the short rib coulda been served with more Demi as the cut was thick it demanded more Demi as I was half way thru it , I’m sure I coulda asked for more with no issues , nevertheless we really had a great meal and enjoyed the whole experience

It’s a very beautiful restaurant teaming with energetic and hardworking students doing great things with the skills they are learning at the Institute. Service, drink, food and ambiance are certainly top notch. Five stars for sure.

Two of us went to celebrate my birthday and were delighted with the price fixed lunch special. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. The selection was impressive and everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The special is only available January to March 13, but we had such a nice time that I’d certainly consider returning without that incentive

We went for lunch and our experience was very enjoyable. The only criticism I have is that my fish entree,
Dover Sole, was slightly warm when I received it. So, it was cold half way through the course. I must say even with the food temperature problem, it was incredibly delicious. I would positively order it again. This restaurant is truly a gem and the student/staff are always fabulous when we eat here.

Although we enjoy all of the restaurants at the CIA, we love the Bocuse restaurant. We prefer the Contemporary decor of the Bocuse and the French atmosphere. The menu was unique. The grilled octopus was the best we have ever had and its presentation was a work of art! The onion soup was also unique with its presentation and wonderful flavor. It would have been nice to have had a choice of some type of green salad. Overall, it was a 5 star lunch and we look forward to returning soon.

Overall, it was a great experience. Our server was super sweet, however, it seemes liked it was her very first night ever working. She seemed a little nervous. She had difficulty making the ice cream at the table. The food was very good but not amazing.
