The Boatshed La Perouse
The Boatshed in La Perouse was a perfect spot to get a huge seafood platter. It was nice to be offered the option of fried or grilled fish, and we added a lobster mornay as well. There was so much food to choose from. We ate oysters, scallops, prawns, crab, calamari, octopus and chips. Everything was delicious. The service staff were friendly and attentive and followed Covid guidelines.
Very very average. The service was super slow & the food was okay.
Top location and food was pretty good, service was slow considering the many waiter/waitresses but would still go again
We were seated reasonably quickly offered a menu and left to decide on our food. Once we ordered service was very prompt and the food and cocktail were delicious. This is becoming one of my fave local venues to eat I love bringing friends and introducing them to this wonderful dining experience. I am bringing another friend who has never been next week. Thank you
Lovely spot but we were a little disappointed with the seafood platter. We had it once before and it seemed smaller this time around.
The food is fresh though and under covid restrictions I trust there is limited service you can do. Our waiter was lovely though.
I was extremely happy with our meals, seafood cooked to perfection and staff were polite. We had a 11:15am booking and were seated at 11:30am. At 12:45pm we were advised we had to vacate the table by 1pm for another booking. We hadn’t ordered dessert at this stage. If this was the case the staff should tend to us immediately. We waited fifteen minutes before I had to hail down a waitress to place our order. I felt our dessert was rushed and felt disappointed
Have been a few times and has always been good. Will definitely come again.
It was Dirty, noisy, service was good. Felt rushed as closed at 7pm on a Sunday...
The meal was amazing, great view, great food and staff seemed friendly. I had not been before and looked on the website weeks in advance which said open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and so booked for 6.15 dinner for a family 50th birthday celebration. We arrived at 6pm, the place was heaving and there was not a table for us at first. We had a cocktail and waited which was fine, we then ordered and the lovely food arrived . Into our first bite another waiter came to say they closed at 7pm so everything was closing did we want anything else. I questioned this and they said it is on the website. Sure enough next day I looked and if you scroll to the bottom it is indeed a 7am to 7pm. BUT in sayding you do dinner and allowing a booking in for a 6.15pm dinner and a follow up call on the phone the day before and sitting to order not once did anyone mention BTW we close at 7 pm! Very strange and disappointing end to a wonderful meal .... without birthday cake at end, rushed out... and left with half our meal in a doggy bag at 7.30pm.
We had stomach ache after eating seafood platter and lobster was tough probably overcooked disappointing as the surrounding scenery is lovely friends have gone and had similar experience don’t think we’ll go again
Loved the service from start to finish, attentive and prompt delivery despite a full restaurant on a long weekend. Wonderful seafood and cocktails, we'll be back.
Expensive food, not tasty,
Cocktails had no taste.
No taste in the food. Spending a lot and ordering a lot of hot seafood was not worth it. Terrible.
Charged for table water & holiday surcharge? Waitress should of explained so we could make another choice, get our own water. Coffee was all froth. Waitress clearly wanted to be elsewhere. Price not indicative of good customer service, trading on location
The LaPerouse area definatley has a car and parking problem. Had to park and walk 15 minutes to reach your restaurant. The food and restaurant are very good once you get there
Great food, great service, great location. What more can I say.
Very busy took along time to get served had to asked 4 times where our drinks were glasses were dirty once we received them supposed to replace but they never came back worst service ever
Great location and food. However it took 20 minutes to get anyone to take order & 15 min to get drinks. It was busy but should not take that long. Aside from that I would recommend the venue.
One of my favourite places, very accommodating & always super quick with service .. can’t beat the view & cocktails beautiful! Even my daughters apple juice had a flower for decoration ... love it !
Highly recommend the hot and cold seafood platter - plenty of food per head and fresh
It was a very hot day, and extremely busy, but the service was great and quick. I felt the prawns and crab was a bit salty and not that fresh , maybe due to the heat . I have been there many times and the seafood was always fresh.
Booked online and so quick and easy when we got there. Table service by Lachlan was outstanding, so pleasant. Food servings were a generous size. We ordered kids pancakes and haloumi stack (side of bacon and a poached egg), coffee was nice too. Will definitely be back and would recommend.
Great view, variety of good catering to all palates.
Wrong drink order, food was not hot and the restaurant did not feel clean
The food was amazing and great for value. Will definitely go again soon!
The overall experience was great, but some of the kids service was very poor.
You had 4/5 kids wiping cutlery and it was very hard to get someone’s attention to ask for something. We had ask someone to clear our table after we had finished eating, after an hour.
Luckily we were given a table upstairs on the top deck which was a wonderful surprise and we had a really lovely meal looking at the view. Best visit ever.
(1) We arrive a little early and waited 15 minutes before we were approached by staff. I ordered drinks for which we waited another 10 minutes. The drink order was wrong when received.
(2) Our entree's and main meal was served at the same time. When I complained I was told
"we do not have "entree's" all the food is served when it is cooked"
(3) The fish (flathead fillets) was good however it was served sitting on a pile of hot chips which softened the batter on the underside.
(4) The staff were very pleasant but appeared to be UNTRAINED and were perplexed as to how to handle genuine complaints.
(5)_ In particular the attitude of one of the male "waiters" was, to say the least "truculent".
(6) I was a regular visitor prior to the new ownership and was EXTREMELY disappointed
in my experience
We had a great lunch for my niece’s birthday. Back again this Friday for another birthday.
The service was non existent and the manager was rude.
Food was ordinary, not enough variety. Extremely noisy and overcrowded.
Delicious food served quite rapidly and satisfactory.
Great food, reasonable prices. Seafood platter needed more fish instead of hot chips. Sauces were delicious
Seafood platter for two was delicious.
Wait staff polite.
Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Food was tasty and excellent presentation as expected from the boathouse.
Thankyou for an enjoyable meal.My guest was a first timer and indicated to me that he would return again to dine
I loved the scallops and Sydney Rock Oysters. The prawn linguine was a little over cooked and we did have a small bug in our salad 😳 Loved the location!
Great place to get away and enjoy with family. Food was excellent and drinks were just as good.
Food was really good, prawns were fresh, service was great, attentive staff the whole time, would definitely come back.
Good food and beautiful view, kids Friendly. Will be back soon
