We booked ahead of our visit this time as getting a table last minute is usually a no go. So glad we did we had an amazing meal the mussels and scallops were everything we had hoped. Staff we very friendly. Wine and food not over priced. I rate it one our top picks for seafood in Plymouth. If u are worried about covid dont tables are spaced out and masks worn by staff and customers when leaving your table. Dont hesitate book today to avoid disappointment.
V nice experience will go back there for sure
Really lovely food and service was spot on. Its a beautiful location and highly recommend
Staff very efficient and attentive, even water for the dog, all covid aware, made you feel safe
Great place for a breakfast. I had eggs royale, my wife eggs benedict and daughter the pancakes with maple syrup. All very nicely presented and good. Cappuccino was good. Would be nice to have had a menu with cold drinks included but that is the only gripe. Service was excellent with the waitress extremely hard working.
Even being sat inside felt like outside with views of the Barbican / harbour and ferries coming in and out. We will return for lunch soon.
Always reliable, a good place for lunch on a hot summer's day.
Tables nicely spaced out, service good, calamari, scallops, surf and turf, mackerel pate all very good.
Great food, great atmosphere. Goid spacing between tables. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Fabulous friendly service, lovely setting opposite the sea. Food was exceptional, enjoyed ourselves immensely. We will definitely be visiting again.
Amazing food and service! Great atmosphere although the music was a little loud. Great experience and very friendly staff! 100% would recommend
was disappointed with the fish and chips as felt there was more batter ( which was good batter ) than fish.
the other meals were very good
We had a great night, great service, and lovely views. We had an issue with one dish, but the management dealt with the issue promptly, professionally and effectively. Which meant we had a fantastic night. I'd recommend the Boathouse for a great night out.
Massive portions, attentive team, beautiful setting. Very nice indeed
Really good time here following a harbour cruise. Service was really good. Very friendly. Great menu and quality of food was high. Would definitely recommend.
Definitely be back beautiful food such good value for money
Unforunately waited an hour for two lots of eggs benedict and Then waited another 20 minutes to pay for our food Paid £4 for a watered down apple juice. The food was fine but nothing to write home about. Also what we assumed was the manager was walking round with his mask around his chin during the whole visit Probably wouldn't return 😢
I booked a table for my fiancé birthday stating in the notes we wanted a window seat that didn’t happen then I also stated that I really wanted a fuss made for her as she’s an NHS worked who’s been on the front line battling Covid since March last year so I needed lunch to be special but it wasn’t the food was good but I felt the service was poor it seemed anything we asked for was to much effort we ordered a pint of coke and it was 1/2 when it arrived but we were charged for a pint when I questioned it they seemed put out and that I should pay full price all in all other then the food I was left hugely disappointed and quite honestly upset that my fiancé didn’t have the experience she deserves
We haven’t been for a really long time after we had a shocking experience before but we gave it another go and omg it was amazing the staff were brilliant really friendly. We got greeted at the door by really have a chap who showed us to the table. Then the young girl came to take our drink order and food. Food came out within reasonable time. The kids loved the food so did we. Over all it was lush and we will be back
It was a sunny and warm day which added to the ambience. Didn't have to wait long for the food to come out. It was very well presented and tasted good. The young lady who served us was very efficient.
Good service excellent fresh food and value for money
Lovely food great service and staff , we will be returning
Lovely scallops, reasonably cheap Amstel on draught
There was a few things unavailable on the menu, one of which was our first meal choice, seafood linguine and also second choice catch of the day was unavailable - this was a little disappointing. Also no bread was available with the mussels.
However that said, the scallops, steak and mussels that we did have were amazing, had so much flavour and very generous portions.
The customer service levels were very high too and the waitress was very attentive and helpful. The cocktails also highly recommended! Would definitely return here.
Visited the Boathouse for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised. The venue is beautiful with views of the harbour. The open roof allowed the sun to stream in, but protected us from the wind. The food was tasty and well cooked. The waitress was efficient, helpful and cheerful. A very enjoyable experience.
Great location, friendly staff, and delicious food. Highly recommended
The boat house was an awful experience for my family. The food arrived at different times, with my youngest daughter left waiting an hour for her meal. My husband’s veggie burger was returned as the price tag of £15 for what was delivered was just unacceptable. The icing on the cake was the manager who at the end of the meal argued with us rather than accepting responsibility and apologising. Avoid at all cost.
Arrived early but welcomed by staff. Order took a long time to arrive even though we queried that customers who arrived after us received their orders before us. 2 mistakes in order which were corrected when noted to staff.
We have been here many times for breakfast & is always good we went on a bank holiday this time around & it was a gorgeous day . Food was great took longer than normal to arrive but this was probably due to it being a busy bank holiday & first one in a long time since lockdown so was expected . Beautiful setting one of our favs .
Excellent food and service, the only downside was the volume of the music, at times it was like trying to have breakfast in a nightclub at 10:00 on a Sunday morning. That aside I definitely recommend a visit!
Lovely food, very enjoyable and service was great
Excellent food and customer service. Would highly recommend to friends and family .
Very friendly atmosphere & nice food. Was nice with a bit of music in the background too & got a table booked again for today 😃
Service was slow we as in there at 10 am left at 1145 just for breakfast . Bacon and as very crispy and the cutlery was bought after the meal no Brn sauce due to delivery .
Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff and wonderful setting overlooking The harber
Good welcome and service. Starters were very good but disappointed with mains. Seafood linguine was bland. “Catch of the day” was a fish cake and the fish and chips were only adequate. We expected better from a restaurant specialising in fish and shellfish.
Lovely setting, very airy and friendly atmosphere. The fish is freshly caught and delicious. There is no pressure to eat up and go. Also dog friendly
It used to be a sensibly-priced restaurant/cafe but now they've put the prices up and you don't get value for money. A seafood platter which used to cost around £21 is now £45. Yes, you get more on your plate, but who can afford £45 for lunch; better to have left is smaller and affordable! Won't be going there again.
I asked for scrambled eggs with my breakfast, the eggs were totally un-edible, I complained to the waitress who offered to change them. I declined as the rest of the meal would have gone cold while waiting. The rest of the food was good
It was fine, but wouldn’t rush to go here again. The seafood was okay but the burger we ordered wasn’t amazing and the chips tasted like they had been cooked in oil that needed a change long ago. The waitress dropped some of the food on the table as she was placing it down with no apology which I found quite rude but other staff were friendly and chatty. So all in all, not terrible but not great either.
Service was great, food was great, atmosphere was great. Will definitely be back.
