The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant is a stunning restaurant and bar, overlooking the shores of Lake Windermere, providing a picturesque environment for dining. Serving fresh, original, everyday eating on the shores of Lake Windermere, the menu includes traditional British favorite's. Enjoy a coffee, light lunch or something a little more substantial as you unwind with a drink overlooking the boats on Windermere Marina. Why not join us for simply great fresh food and fine wine in a contemporary, relaxed and informal setting.

The restaurant is open Thursday - Monday from 9am serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Tuesday & Wednesday from 11am serving lunch and dinner.

We ate here over 3 nights, the food was consistenly good I thouight thye price of drinks a bit high £7 per pint for Estrella but overall we enjoyed our evenings. The staff are really warm and friendly

Nice resturant, tho a little out of town, its not too far to walk. The staff were excellant and the service good. The food was Very good and as described, well presented. Portions were well sized and we left very happy for the Price. Nive view from the deck over the boats in the boat moorings which was veyr pleasant. Would recomend for an nice evening meal with a partner.

Our first visit and certainly will not be our last. Food was cooked to perfection and high standards. The service was good overall but we feel the service could be better ie. more eye contact from the staff eg. we were wanting more drinks and ended up having to go to the bar and get orders. Yes, this venue is recommended.

My better half and I had a lovely evening meal at the Boathouse. Its a very pleasant dining room, which was probably around half full when we visited. The food was very good, and just what was needed on a damp evening after a long day of walking. The star dishes for us were the starters, I had some excellent muscles in a broth with a large hunk of bread, while Ruth had the whipped feta with honey which was very tasty indeed. All dishes were generous in size and we left satisfied and thoroughly full up.

Pouting with rain. No car park. Just wish we had it highlighted more prior to our arrival. Lovely place. Food excellent. Service was a bit slow. Very little follow up for drinks or desserts etc. Had to keep asking for menus and find staff to get us a drink. All in all a nice place , I will visit again.

Really disappointing - nobody to seat you, really unorganised from the start. We had to get our own menus and the bottles of coke are ridiculously small… Told just to sit wherever and all doors were in use so the place was freezing as it was a cold day. Parmesan and truffle oil chips had no truffle oil on them and the Parmesan was plonked on top, definitely not worth £6. Lighting is really stark and bright so doesn’t have a restaurant feel at all… Most of the food was nice but the service, atmosphere and value for money is incredibly poor. The website and social media is a very false representation of the type of experience you’ll have here, don’t waste your money.
