    The food was great. Our waitress was wonderful and very helpful answering our questions on some of the items. The atmosphere was great. I am looking forward to eating there again. Thank you very much for making our Anniversary evening wonderful. The whole Boathouse staff was great

    The food was not quite worth the price. Staff was friendly and waitress was nice and attentive. We were celebrating our anniversary and has asked for a quite table with a view. Unfortunately, it wasn't too busy when we arrived but there was a large table behind us with a very loud, obnoxious guest. This in itself all but ruined the nice, romantic dinner we had hoped for.

    Over priced but we go for the ambiance so we don’t go but once or twice a year. The food is good and customer service is great. But with all the price increases In everything we don’t go out as much. A place like this is a beautiful setting if you want a nice date place too. It’s absolutely beautiful.

    I normally rave about the boathouse to everyone! I love it! I’ve been there many times! It’s my favorite place in Richmond to get a steak! But this visit was very disappointing. I had family visiting from out of town and was celebrating my graduation. The staff was adequate but honestly lacking from what we have had in the past. The restaurant was not busy but it took almost 45 minutes to get our food. When the food did come out, a majority of it was not hot, barely warm. One steak did not have a steak knife with it, and it took more than 5 minutes to get a knife. My New York strip was majorly over cooked. They did replace my steak, but I ended up having to get it to go because of the amount of time it took. It was just so disappointing to spend $300 on our meal and the food and service was lacking. Honestly, the visit was so disappointing that I don’t think I even want to try to come again and spend that much money to be disappointed. I’m Not one to ever complain. I can easily understand mistakes and being busy. But this visit was different. It really put a damper on my celebration.

    The view is still great. Thankfully they finally got rid of their horrible app ordering system. I hated that. Unfortunately the food still has not improved. I had the most boring basic plate of fried oysters you can imagine and a dry chicken sandwich with the softest squishy tomato ever.

    I’m a multi time guest. We took another couple to dinner last evening. Not your best. Food was just average. Service was okay. The calamari was not very good. Our friends were very Happy with what they were served but my wife and I were disappointed with our meals.

    We got there a little earlier than our reservation time & sat at the outside bar for a drink/appetizer. Plenty of tables were open. We wanted an earlier time but 7:45 was the best we could do. Sunset was great (as usual) drinks & appetizer were very good. Dinner was very tasty. Perfect evening.

    We took my parents there for their 56th anniversary dinner. My parents have some mobility challenges, and the staff at the Boathouse were very kind and accommodating. We ordered oysters and scallops and everything was cooked well and tasted delicious. Chastyde was the manager while we were there and she went out of her way to make my parents feel special. Thank you so much for all you did to make it a memorable occasion!

    While we waited for a table we said at the bar which coming through me off from the bartender didn't know what a fuzzy navel was and they couldn't make a sex on the Beach but overall the drinks we did order were pretty good and finally sitting down at the table the waitress was very nice polite energetic when answering questions about the menu when my guest had a special request. Great experience and a great place if you wanted to take a date celebrate anniversary or wedding or just because the food was great. Granted they couldn't control the weather outside but the table we had was nice and seeing the lake in the back was a great view especially when it started getting dark. If you're a sweaty person like me make sure you bring a sweat towel during the hot weather months...lol

    Great place for special occasions. We splurged for Anniversary with multiple cocktails & appetizers & fancy dinner. Menu had other options if you want a less expensive option. Service was spectacular.

    The Arugula salad with scallop topping was fine. The crab cakes contained very little crab meat and had so much bread crumb filling they fell apart when pierced with a fork. The zucchini chips were excellent. The meals were over-priced. Fortunately I was aware that a 20% tip was included in the bill. However, when the technical display was presented to sign, the screen showed the standard icons for adding a tip to the bill without indicating it was already added. The server should remind the patron of this. I would recommend the restaurant to a friend with a recap of this visit.

    Our dinner on Sunday evening was excellent! The service was great. The food was exceptional. However, I thought our dinner was a bit over priced especially with the extra 20% service fee, but I would still recommend The Boathouse to anyone who would enjoy excellent seafood and service.

    On a nice summer evening the ambiance is amazing. The food is alright. Not bad but feels a bit overpriced for what you get. You are definitely paying for the view but on a nice day that’s alright. I’m okay with a 20% service charge but the waitress then tried to tell us that the service charge doesn’t got to her and only any tip above would. I mean what is the expectation here? To pay a total of 30-40% in service and tip? Feels somewhat deceitful.

    Best part is the view! Overpriced entrees. Crab and artichoke dip was decent. Peach and bourbon salmon was just ok. Ceasar salad was disappointing, lettuce was wilted and brown. Great spot for drinks on the patio.

    Didn’t know who are waiter was? Didn’t staff would come to our table and had to keep asking for drinks/water. Had a reservation for 6:45 and requested a table beside the water/rail. Finally got a table at 7:15. Staff stated, “request are not always granted” there were 3 dirty tables by they rail/water. Poor communication with staff. A beautiful wedding was going on However the music was so loud, we could barely hear ourselves talk. 20% was automatically added to your bill. Did not agree with this at all. Been coming to this location for years, but will think twice next time

    We loved this spot. We picked a tough night to go with a wedding and the usual Saturday crowd enjoying the gorgeous weather. The staff seemed slammed and had a hard to keeping up. They were all doing their best and I hope the have better nights ahead.

    Although in a beautiful setting the indoor facility was unclean and room temperature was too warm. Service throughout the evening was slow and uninspired. The Oysters Rockefeller appetizer was watery; crab dip a bit better. The filet mignon was so salty it was inedible. The manager did address this at the table and remove the item from our check, but very little salt was requested when ordering. The evening was just a big disappointment.

    Went for my birthday and had the most delicious filet mignon over asparagus and real mashed potatoes. There was a handwritten birthday card at the table when we arrived and they offered me a birthday desert but I opted for the complimentary champagne toast instead. Truly delicious and fabulous!

    Ate dinner with my son. The calamari was good - crispy and tasty. My son had the scallops. They were bland and watery. I had the swordfish. It had a "fishy " taste, partially hidden by the topping. The portions were very small, given the price. The waitress was very good - friendly and attentive.

    They automatically add a 20% gratuity. I don’t feel that is appropriate. Tips are earned, not guaranteed. The last few times I have dined there I don’t feel that the service was very good.
