Not a great experience. Had to wait 10 minutes for water. Wait time for food was way too long and also had to wait forever for drinks. Very unnecessary ordering system to order on your phone yet still have a “sever”. Probably won’t come back anytime soon.
Reservation times are just an estimate and the excuse is people will finish eating and just not leave because of the view. Food was good and came out very fast. Having to wait over 30 min past your reservation time to get seated somewhere other than what you requested was disappointing to say the least. Hostesses did not seem to really care and told us we were just waiting for a table to empty. Three emptied and were given to other parties. We were then told they had reservations before us?!?! Which one is it?
Amazing view!!! Love the outdoor seating during covid
Portion sizes are good, but you’d expect a little more for high pricing.
A wonderful day for dinner on the water! I love this place!
Never disappointed with The Boathouse! Great food and service, beautiful atmosphere.
Setting is superior, service is not. You place your order on your phone. Server doesn't even need to be there but automatically gets a 20% tip. The server forgot to bring one of the drinks and skipped the request for a change to how we wanted a menu item.
I wouldn't go back to the Boathouse until they have changed things. The fact that the server doesn't take your order, and you have to do it on the app is frustrating. Going out for a meal is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable, not stressful. All other restaurants have a server take the order, I don't understand why you don't. And the 20% tip is already included? For what? The server didn't do much.
My fiancee and Me, it was our best experience in long time. Thanks a lot for everything.
Food is great but you serve yourselves and 20% is still added
Deceptive and hard to understand their new order/pay system
Not a fan of ordering on your phone, having to call a waiter by pressing a button, etc. It takes away from the dining experience. I had heard this is how it works at Casa Del Barco and is the reason we have not tried it. Also, when something is delivered to the table, it should be complete! Waiting again for straws for a drink, for glasses for a beer, for plates to eat appetizers, etc. is annoying!! Had I known that The Boathouse also used this method, I may have opted for another restaurant.
Also, the value prop for this restaurant is out of whack! No way that dinner for 3 should cost almost $200! Appetizers and a few drinks were probably $80.
Lastly, explaining to me that the 20% automatic gratuity is “shared with all others to provide a living wage” is complete crap!!
Great food. Great view. Excellent service from Paige.
The food was excellent. The ambiance was good although we would have preferred to be on the main deck.
We appreciated the contactless menu and ordering but the system itself is a bit confusing. Also, the service fee is a bit extreme in our opinion considering the limited service due to Covid-19.
Overall, though, we would recommend it but perhaps not for a holiday.
Can’t say I’m a fan of the new ordering app, but somewhat understand why they have gone to it. Just feel it really downgrades the whole dining out experience. Regardless, this visit was a real letdown compared to many other visits. Appetizers and all 4 meals were lukewarm at best. Then to top it off, their app would not recognize my gift cards, even though their own website confirmed the balances.
Went Mother’s Day Brunch. Beautiful location. Outdoor tables were so unstable couldn’t really eat safely. Ordering instructions could have been more user friendly (esp. when you know you will have a less tech savvy crowd). Food was good given volume; okay compared to normal service. Servers were great.
Last Saturday I took my wife and children to the Boathouse at Sunday Park for a Mother's Day dinner. The food was delicious and the table on the lakeside deck at sunset was perfect. However the service was not to level I expect from a restaurant with your reputation and at that price point.
I understand that the impact of COVID-19 restrictions have been significant. However your choice to use a completely touchless ordering solution (unlike any other restaurant we've frequented during the pandemic) was off-putting.
Instead of being checked on by the assigned staff, we had to beckon them to our table with the button. This led to a 30 minute delay on our order for the main course, very infrequent drink refills and waiting 20 additional minutes for an incomplete dessert to go order. This meal was intended to be a special dinner to honor a wonderful lady, but it was very frustrating and disappointing.
On top of all this, when we arrived home one of the items was missing from the dessert order. I called immediately and spoke to a manager who said the apple cobbler would be removed from the bill. No other accommodation was offered, no apology made. This was the least that should be done, but even the refund not followed through. The item was not removed from my bill.
I contacted the restuarant, but they have not responded. I will not be returning to your restaurant for a long time and certainly not before you stop using the touchless ordering.
I expected it to be busy since we went on Mother’s Day.l weekend. I made reservations and we did not have to wait once we arrived which was great. However with it being a larger party with several tickets the contactless menu and ordering was a disaster. Everyone kept getting kicked out of the app and then couldn’t get back in. Service was slow but our waitress was very friendly. She manually took our orders. Our apps came out before we even got our drinks which was annoying. While everything was correct things were just extremely slow. Not horrible experience but not great either. I can’t say if this is the norm since it’s my first time dining there. It probably would not be my first choice next go around but wouldn’t refuse to give them another try.
Worth the price for its scenery & great food. However , the overall service is lacking especially the “contactless” system they utilize. The app is complicated and several servers come to your table throughout the dining experiences. I say this because isn’t the point of contactless ordering and payment to avoid or decrease contact ? Well this app does the opposite! Every server in the restaurant comes to your table to answer questions, bring or clear plates , so what’s the point ?! I think I’ll wait to return once this “contactless” system is no longer in place!
Our waiter was so nice. He made sure he got whatever we needed. He was very friendly. The food was perfect temperature. I liked the way we ordered. It was very efficient and effective.
Still using that iPhone based ordering and paying system that makes the customer work for their meal.
Hostess was bordering on rude saying real menus were not available to customers.
Menu has been changed and prices increased.
A nice place for a glass of wine at sunset but might travel elsewhere for dinner.
Service was very good and well worth the mandatory 20% gratuity. Always support your server.
