We arrived at 2:30 on Sunday, only to be told the menu was limited as they change over for dinner preparation at 3:00 pm. The entrees we were looking forward to were no longer available. We both ordered omelets and found it was more like an "egg with your vegetables". The omelets were overflowing with vegetables, to the point of dissatisfaction. My omelet had been cooked in a pan that had cooked other entrees all day long and had a faint odor of burned oil. I don't believe we will be going back.
Great evening with out of town friends... they drove 3hours for another function but completed their visit by having dinner at the Boathouse ..I asked the server to turn fireplace on n he was so willing to give the ambiance to my friends...great Dirty Martini's...
It was our 6 year anniversary. We celebrate every anniversary at the Boathouse (Rockett’s Landing) where we got married on March 10th, 2012. The food has been consistently good and the evening view is simply gorgeous. We also dine in the restaurant with our daughter from time to time as she love the food there too!
Great views and place! Loved it!
The ambiance of The Boathouse is why I like it. Can't beat the views of the City and the James. We enjoyed our meals, the shrimp and scallops were delicious. The crabcake has no lump crabmeat and not worth the cost in our opinion. Still, the service is amazing and it's a fun night out, so we'll definitely be back because it's such a fun night out.
The table wasn’t ready and the place was packed + noisy but the food and view spectacular
Food was excellent!! Little slow getting the food however they were slammed. It was well worth the wait...
Great food, service from bar was good. Hostesses could be more friendly.
Excellent Sunday brunch! The lines were too long for the waffle and/or omlette bar, but the off the menu selections were wonderful. Got the stacked roasted veggie benedict and loved it. Bloody Marys were unexpectedly strong and very tasty but would have have liked more pickled veggie garnishments. Service was attentive. Try the red pepper crab soup!
Food and service always terrific. View is spectacular
Wonderful dinner with family! Exceptional service and food!!
It was great!
The food was great and our waitress, Emily, was wonderful. We were astounded with how fast everything came out considering we ordered drinks and oysters first, so kudos to the kitchen staff as well.
Kaleigh was an awesome server. Very attentive yet not overbearing. Recommendations were spot on!!excellent job.
Seven friends got together to celebrate a friends Birthday! We had a very nice evening! Our food was excellent and I will definitely go back.
As per usual the Sunday breakfast buffet was delicious! Only thing still missing was a sausage gravy boat!...hint hint...
Brunch was wonderful, everyone loved their meals. I had the French toast, which was completely decadent. Biscuits were fluffy and tender, steak and eggs were perfect, Bloody Mary’s were yummy. We were so happy with our choice.
Food was great. We had crab cakes, crab stuffed shrimp, and the 12 oz steak, and all were perfect. We had Red velvet cheesecake for dessert that was to die for. It was little louder than usual, but nothing crazy. I would recommend to anyone.
Great table with view of the river. Food was excellent but restaurant noted to be quite loud. Server was busy and at first we had a bit of wait but rest of service was prompt. Will definitely dine here again.
I took my friend for his birthday. It was the first time either of us had been. It was amazing . Aubrey our waiter was awesome and the manager came over and acknowledged my friends birthday. We will be going back.
Sat out on the deck with a gorgeous view of the river and city skyline. Great food and great service.
Each time I've dines at The Boathouse Rockett's Landing, I've enjoyed the entire experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We had one child with us and I was very pleased to see a reasonably priced children's menu. The restaurant was very busy, but our server was attentive to all our needs. Food was presented very well, was delicious and the portions were generous. The interior of the restaurant as well as the whole building is interesting. I would like to visit during the daytime to enjoy the view.
Food was great- it was a warm winter evening so we could enjoy the view from the balcony and appreciated the heaters to take off the cool night edge. Food was enjoyable and well prepared. Service was something we'll be using in office jokes because it was rather weird. See private note.
The dining experience has change at this restaurant. Employee's standing around talking. The result was slow service. Employees playing and touching each other's head no hand washing. Young man in the kitchen area drinking milk while food being prepared. Another young man touch his nose then proceeded to talk a food order.
Our first time having brunch at The Boathouse was EXCELLENT!
Always enjoy the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing. Really enjoy the Sunday brunch with the Omelette Bar - it may well be the best omelette in town.
We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary. One year ago we had our wedding reception at The Boathouse. Excellent food and service as always.
Perfect place for brunch until it gets busy. The line for the omelet station runs into the dining area. There is a good chance that someone waiting in line will join your conversation because they will be standing over top of your table.
Ordered two of four meals with poached eggs . Also ordered a side of Canadian bacon, as it is offered on the menu. Meals are delivered, two sides of regular bacon. I ask about the Canadian and they say it is not a side dish. Would have been nice to have been told that before it was delivered. Back to poached eggs... both dishes had two over done poached eggs. As I was explaining to the waitress, her comment was “if you want them cooked more that is not how we normally do it”. Another waitress was serving two other dishes and looked down and said “oh, those are not done right, way over cooked “. So, about 15 minutes later a manager comes to table with a plate of two well cooked poached eggs and apologized for the mistake with the first order. Well, they were done correctly, but two eggs, not four that we paid for. I dropped the issue at that point. Everyone was finished eating and I did not want to drag it on. Oh, yes, they did charge us for both of the poorly cooked meals. To their credit, our two guests with us totally enjoyed their meals.
My wife and I choose the Boathouse simply because we had never been before. I can say it was a wonderful first experience, as we had hoped. The food was delicious. The service was amazing. The views were to die for. We are definitely going again. The only negative is the parking, but it is Richmond VA the worst parking city in the U.S. The Boathouse was wondering I highly recommend it.
Food was delicious, and drink were on the spot! We had the best red velvet cake/cheesecake dessert that has ever been created!
Overall Great experience
We had a great late Vday they even kept the menu for us !!
Valentine weekend menu was available, my companion had duck while I has rack of lamb. Food was good, not extraordinary, portion of lamb much larger than the duck. Best part of the meal was calamari appetizer. Beautiful setting, would have been less stressful if GPS did not lead us to closed off roads and had darkness not set in so early, much prefer this place in summer or daylight to enjoy the view. Cucumber basil martini a favorite of mine. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient.
Nice set up carter to seafood mostly romantic view of water at night great date night
The food was expensive, but was the best steak we have ever eaten. The salad, potatoes and asparagus were very good, too. I think a piece of bread would be a nice addition. The special Valentine's Day dessert was delicious. The views of the James River are awesome. I was skeptical of the whole experience, knowing the cost, but was very pleased with the location, easy parking, wait staff, food and views. I would definitely go there again.
Our server Garret was very welcoming and friendly. I ordered the steamed shrimp appetizer which was 0.5 lb which was $14 and a side of mashed potatoes. He asked if I wanted the full portion which I assumed was the $14 appetizer so I said yes without hesitation. After receiving my bill, there was an extra $14 added onto the appetizer. I was unhappy about the up-charge. There should’ve been some type of communication about the upcharge . Other than that Garrett was a great server
Great service, food was prompt and delicious. Our waitress was attentive and polite.
The food and service was awesome!
