The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing Ratings and Reviews
Valentine weekend menu was available, my companion had duck while I has rack of lamb. Food was good, not extraordinary, portion of lamb much larger than the duck. Best part of the meal was calamari appetizer. Beautiful setting, would have been less stressful if GPS did not lead us to closed off roads and had darkness not set in so early, much prefer this place in summer or daylight to enjoy the view. Cucumber basil martini a favorite of mine. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient.
The food was expensive, but was the best steak we have ever eaten. The salad, potatoes and asparagus were very good, too. I think a piece of bread would be a nice addition. The special Valentine's Day dessert was delicious. The views of the James River are awesome. I was skeptical of the whole experience, knowing the cost, but was very pleased with the location, easy parking, wait staff, food and views. I would definitely go there again.
Our server Garret was very welcoming and friendly. I ordered the steamed shrimp appetizer which was 0.5 lb which was $14 and a side of mashed potatoes. He asked if I wanted the full portion which I assumed was the $14 appetizer so I said yes without hesitation. After receiving my bill, there was an extra $14 added onto the appetizer. I was unhappy about the up-charge. There should’ve been some type of communication about the upcharge . Other than that Garrett was a great server
Boat House Grill is great, i hAve been there many times. I take my teenage daughter there for a nice breakfast on a weekend morning. Good for bonding with daughter.
And i have been there on dates. At dinner the wait staff is friendly and very attentive. You just cant ask for more. I like seafood and its all good at Boathouse. The appetizers and the entries, prepaired well snd served well.
You guys are great! Keep doing it, Boathouse!
This is our second time here and our experience was pretty much like our first. Great service and very friendly staff. Love the ambiance. Food was good for the value.. only slightly dissatisfied with fried oysters this time.. over cooked.. too dry. Not too much noise even on a busy. Saturday night..Our waitress Amanda was very good and attentive to us and that added to our experience. We would recommend this restaurant to any of our family and friends..
Not the best of our visits here but still a favorite when we are in Richmond. The cocktails and oysters are enough to bring us back. Unfortunately, the special was dry and not up to usual standards. Service was rushed... we will be back but hope this was just an off night.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was unique. The the noise level was a bit high. Prices were on the high side, especially for the amount of food received. My husband and I shared an appetizer, salad, and we each had our own entrée, but we left feeling still a bit hungry. They could fill up their plates with a bit more food, especially since the entree prices are rather high.
We were a party of 9 celebrating my Mother’s 91st birthday. We were seated promptly and a great table where we had an amazing view. Carter arrived at our table immediately and provided outstanding service. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the appetizers we preordered were very good, calamari and crab and artichoke dip. Would recommend this restaurant to others for most any occasion.
First time visit for out of town guests. Outstanding view; may be best in RVA. Good but not great food. Crispy Pork Belly was all fat and not Crispy, but otherwise the food was good. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Fun evening right up until I realized I had paid $11 for a call whiskey AND $2 extra for the ICE‼️ So if you want a great view of the city skyline go to the Boathouse, but you might want to bring a cooler with your own ice
They were able to accommodate a large party of us with ease . We had a fun night and really felt like we were able to talk to one another and converse even with the person at the end of the table despite the energetic vibe . The food was delicious , service spectacular , and view was incredible ! Thanks ! We will be back !
It was our anniversary which we spent with a nephew and his girlfriend from out of state. It was a great experience for all. We were well tended to, and the food was fabulous. The corner window table was perfect as it wasn’t as noisy as it is in the center of the room. A bonus for those of us hearing challenged by background noise. Thank you for a perfect evening
