The Boatbuilders Yard
Always great - We keep n coming back. Never any complaints.
We will be back.
Once we arrived our experience was great.
However I had left 2 voice mail re booking with no return call.
SO i booked online and when we arrived there was no record of the booking!
I celebrated my birthday here for an afternoon. The staff and venue are fantastic. They were super accommodating with the cake, storing it in the fridge and not charging a cake fee. We had table service and our waiter/host was absolutely delightful! So helpful and friendly. I didn't catch her name but she has red in her hair. I ate the jerk chicken breast and a range of starters - all were delicious. They make a great Aperol Spritz too! The venue is spacious and suited the crowd I was with. I have no complaints! :)
Not very conducive to Corporate Group bookings as we ended up having to nominate one person to take everyone's orders and go up to the bar and it was hard on the bar staff to take food and drink orders for 12 people. Would have been better to have been able to order at the table.
Also, we had a booking until 2pm however were asked to leave at 1.30pm as the next booking had turned up early. Not our problem and not good that we were made to feel that it was.
Great food and service BUT our table booking was mucked up - not allocated and end initial joining a different group I g until we requested a separate table for our group.
3 of the guys ended up with skin pealing off their elbows, there must have been some sort of cleaning fluid still on the table. It would be good to talk to someone about this. Ian 0438812030, thanks.
Great atmosphere, good food. Some of the Bar staff could be a little friendlier. I know they are busy but they could give a smile
Very efficient and friendly service
Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. Our food order was lost somehow between ordering and the kitchen and only realised after 45 min when we went to check....so no food. It was not that busy so should not have been an issue. Really disappointing as it was a special occasion for us to all catch up and ended up leaving to find food elsewhere.
Great food, service, location and atmosphere. :-)
I had booked a table for 9 and unfortunately we had to sit on 2 tables. Not ideal really
Coffee took sooooo long and was longer to arrive than our food. Not hot enough either.
Food was amazing
Brill spot, they really looked after us.
We'd come again.
The food was lovely & the service was attentive.
We enjoyed the venue and the location was great, right on the water. Our food was delicious when it finally arrived, after it took a long time to get service after initially being seated, we had to call the waitress over after about a 15 minute wait to order, and our drinks that we ordered on seating hadn't arrived yet either. The waitress was apologetic and very friendly. 1 meal was then missed on the order so we had to reorder that, but it was delivered quite quickly. Thankfully food was delicious. I wouldn't say we had a negative experience but the initial ordering of food and missed meal just meant my review score was probably not as good as it could have been.
Food was great and very fast to come out. Service at bar was good. Many options for food and drink selections. Great idea having sunscreen in the bathrooms.
You seriously need to turn the music down. We organised to catch up with friends - ie we talked a lot and after a couple of hours we were sick of talking over the music. I wouldn't call the music energetic - just way too loud - back ground music is good - but when you can't hear someone who is 2 feet across from you or when the wait staff attend the table, it means the music is far too loud.
Geeat casual indoor and outdoor hangout for food and drinks with friends
Great relaxed atmosphere, very accommodating as we had a small baby with us as a group.
Great food options and love that we could share.
Great ambience. Good food. Pretty casual dining place.
Service though was found to be average and would be great if it can be improved. We made a request with our dinner booking for a suitable table for a group of 9 including a double pram and a stroller. We went down to the venue earlier in the day, spoke to manager, pointed out the section we would like to be seated and were told it could be organised.
However we ended up being put in a different section which is fine as that happens but we were placed on 2 separate bench tables which made it awkward for conversations, and hardly any space for the prams. To move the prams we had to ask patrons on the tables beside us to stand up and move so that was a bit disappointing given we had made the effort to make arrangements.
Service was also a little slow.
Overall we still do recommend this venue for casual dining.
Great location for a casual lunch especially if you have a large group. Children friendly and reasonable prices.
Went to the boat builder's yard for my boyfriend's birthday and we all had a wonderful time, the service was great, staff were all very friendly and knew the menu incredibly well. Food and drink all came out very quickly and tasted amazing.
P.S. apologies to the young brunette waiter on behalf on my friends who tried to set him up with one the single ladies in our group.
The food was good but above all our waiter Sam was excellent , his boss should pay him more as he is an excellent assert , Our whole party enjoyed our visit
Service was excellent, food pretty good. It was busy but staff were friendly and efficient
Absolutely loved the chickpea chips. Super salad was OK but lacked a complimentary dressing. We were seated in the 600s and the warmth was delicious coming from the overhead heaters.
Table of 15 booked outside with table service. We were there for 25 minutes before anyone came out to serve us, even then we had to go and ask. Once served some food and drinks no body came to clear tables or take further drink orders - to the point where we went inside to order.
Dissapointing and clearly missed out on some sales of beverages during the afternoon. We planned to stick around until 5pm, but left and went elsewhere.
Great food , in our group, 2 had special (very difficult) dietary requirements and it has been a long time and many cafes, restaurants since I have heard them both comment that the food was absolutely fantastic. Well done to all. We will be back.
Upon arriving we had booked a table inside we thought but it was actually outside which was quickly rectified by Jordan and also our numbers had dropped so we were able to get a table inside. Food was great service fantastic an overall great experience will return
The food was good... we had table service for ordering but we had to wait quiet awhile for someone to come... it would have been easier and I suspect quicker if we ordered at the bar when we came in. Also it was assumed that there would be one bill for the table but everyone wanted to pay indidviually... however staff rectified this when we left. The food was great!
We had a fantastic time, food was Great, it was toasty warm outside under the heater, and the staff were awesome. Thanks for another great experience
I don't think the food was great value. $9 for a small bowl of chips?! Also it would be good if all our meals appeared closer together. Our table was 12 people but some had finished their meal before others had even arrived.
My father and I both ordered the brisket. His whole meal was so tough he sent it back. My first piece was extremely tough but the second a little more tender. The manager was however very apologetic and gave Gina second meal to compensate the first very average one.
Service was amazing! Food was delicious and Fabulous selection of beer
Easy going relaxed place with an interesting menu. Love the inside outside choices. You can sit by the fire, in a deck chair on the river or tables under cover
Friendly staff and decent pricing.
Had a great time, was a bit annoying that the heater did not work. We got relocated but two tables. It decided the group a bit and we had to hunt a waitress down to order. Otherwise great evening!
The staff were great and an overall great experience - Thank you
Not great food, expected better because it looks busy every time I go past it...
I have been to Boatbuilders a number of times and usually it is quite good. This day however, service was terrible, with a 45 min wait for a coffee.
Good Location for a catch up with friends and not too expensive however some of the meals such as veal schnitzel tres ordinary - deep fried it seemed with a token average coleslaw. Some of the meals didn’t come and we had to chase them up.
The menu was lovely, I chose the pulled lamb salad and it was absolutely delicious. As was the almond dip. Nom nom nom
Our waitress was absolutely lovely too, always smiling and made some terrific menu suggestions.
Despite the inadequate choice of tables and the exposure to the sun we ended up moving to a more satisfactory seating arrangement and location. This was pre booked and discussed, as we had 4 toddlers and a baby as well as 16 adults. The venue was otherwise very good.
