Welcome to The Boat Inn.

The Boat Inn Penkridge was built at the same time as the Staffs and Worcs Canal in 1779 and is one of the old ‘Gateways’ to the Village, for many years it was the first or last stopping point, as locals and visitors travelled along the Cannock Road.

Now a modernised Gastro-Pub & Restaurant, serving a range of menus including traditional hearty British meals, Bottomless Brunch, Afternoon Teas and Sunday Roasts.

Fantastic service, beautiful food and great prices. My mother is disabled and they couldn't do enough for her and really made both her feel very welcome. Celebrating my parents Diamond Wedding Anniversary and they were given a gift to take home and enjoy, which just made the day that little bit more amazing and was such a thoughtful and kind gesture. Food was absolutely fabulous and plenty of it, could not fault any of the courses we had and it was hot and very well presented. Great place for a Sunday roast and all the trimmings. If you want a place where you want to feel welcome, appreciate great customer service and assertiveness, no overpriced menu's and a relaxing atmosphere, then I would highly recommend this venue. Well done to all the staff and we will certainly be back. Thank you all.

Really nice meal at the boat. The staff were great and the pub was very relaxing. The outdoor area was clean and tidy and the food and drinks reasonable priced

Sat at table for 30 minutes and had no service for food or drinks. Walked out and no staff acknowledged or noticed. Bar staff stood talking and took ages to take orders. Very poor service.

I’ve been using the boat for a while, meal always good portions, but since it’s had a change of staff, meal are now controlled portions, they are cutting back on the meal sizes and for how much they cost it was a big disappointment. If you order belly pork, you’d expect cracklin, well me and my friend didn’t get any, the pudding we ordered with custard, well what can I say, I had to ask for more custard because it came in a very small amount. Very disappointing with the whole thing and have to consider if I will be returning.

Food was good but would have liked better desert menu which had only 4 deserts in total with one not available . Had to keep asking for cutlery and staff would reach over food instead of walking round. Passed cutlery to customers to hand out. Just little things which make a difference.🙂 Think with experience it will improve.
