A Traditional Pub and Hotel in the Yorkshire Dales providing excellent Real Ales, The Boars Head is a small family run hotel/inn located in the small village of Long Preston. The Boars Head at Long Preston is a lovely, 1700’s Dales Country Inn with cosy en-suite rooms, friendly restaurants, open log fire, rustic beams and lots of character. It is located in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, only 4 miles from Settle and 12 miles from Skipton. There is a large bar area and a separate restaurant here at the Boars Head with an open fire in the winter months with a good selection of cask ales and a wide choice of wines by the glass. The menu, served throughout the pub, provides a wide choice From traditional Bar Meals to sophisticated Specials.We also offer delicious dishes for our guests requiring Coeliac / Wheat – Free food – and for those on a Vegetarian Diet.

Disappointing. We first visited there just over 2 years ago when we rented a holiday cottage in the village and had several nice meals there but it has changed a lot. Should have realised when we first arrived as the man at the bar was very scruffy looking , unshaven unironed filthy shirt . I ordered soup with brown bread, when it turned up it had white bread but nothing was said so I had to call out to the girl as she left to ask if it was a mistake and received a shrug. The soup proved to be inedible it was so salty and the bread stale so I sent it back and had to wait ages for a menu to be brought to me. Ordered an alternative which was less than average but at least edible. After our plates were cleared we weren't offered the dessert menu which we planned to have so gave up paid the bill and went elsewhere for dessert.
