The Blue Hen
Impeccable service and artisanal details combine to create an unmistakably refined dining affair. Local, sustainable ingredients are transformed into remarkably creative dishes for dinner and breakfast seven days a week in our stunningly designed conservatory. Simultaneously contemporary and timeless, The Blue Hen will exceed your expectations throughout your experience.
We dined off the Prix Fixe menu which includes a starter, entree, desert, and a glass of wine for $35. A good deal.
Dinner for a special date night! Awesome experience as always!!
The price fixed menu was an excellent value. Our server, Benny, was very helpful. We had the Salmon and it was cooked well. We would love to come back if we visit Saratoga Springs again.
The food was so delicious and the service and the restaurant is awesome.
Phenomenal experience with Benny, Ryan, and Patrick. Perfect service, excellent food, exceptional wine. The steelhead trout special was perhaps the best seafood dish I have ever eaten. This is a cant miss spot in Saratoga.
Awesome service and the food was excellent. Especially lived the fritatta
Had wonderful dinner with my 2 sisters, the scallops were cooked to perfection and the steak was even cooked rare enough for my one very picky sister. Ryan was great as our server and the room was very relaxing and cozy. I will recommend The Blue Hen to anyone that wants a great place for dinner in Saratoga.
Great setting and service .Had the strip steak twice previously and it was excellent this time there was a good deal of fat and grizzle in the portion .My wife’s salmon was great. Appetizers and desserts were excellent.
I wanted to love the Blue Hen, but I found it just ordinary. The highlight was the hostess, who sat us graciously and took our coats with attentiveness, and of course the beautiful surroundings. The waiter was sufficient, but not stellar as one would expect in a high-end venue. He was "there" but not enthusiastic - just doing his job. The food was an enormous disappointment. My omelet was ok, nothing special, but the salad, which appeared to have been dropped on the plate without care, was the typical salad mix, without any adornment or anything to make it stand out. Most importantly, however, is that many of the leaves of the mix were past their time, were stuck together and inedible. I was surprised that this passed muster.
I would like to believe this was just a bad day, and I will give it a second go. The atmosphere is gorgeous!
Nothing special, but expensive. The portions were small and the waiter was indifferent.
Brunch was fabulous- delicious food, many choices, served in interesting way.
The conservatory setting is attractive and pleasant.
Beautiful surroundings, exquisite food, attentive, gracious service -- a lovely experience indeed.
Great food, great service!!!!
The food was very good. The overall atmosphere is very nice. We went at night so the atrium style dining room was lovely. The service was not perfect for the fine dining setting, however the staff was friendly and it did not take away from a supurb meal.
The food was delicious! The prixe fixe was an amazing value!
What a beautiful little restaurant. The glass windows on the ceiling allowed the restaurant to appear bright and cheery. A very intimate dining experience. The dishes were delicious and the cocktails were freshly made
Service was fabulous and it’s a beautiful space but everyone’s food was very, very salty.
Trrrific food at a very very reasonable price we’ll go a few more time to take advantage of the price fix menu
Unbelievable food with impeccable service
Disappointing. Usually our favorite restaurant in Saratoga Springs but this time service was rushed and food was not special.
We had a wonderful time. All the food was cooked to perfection including the seafood (so often overcooked when ordered out) and my husband's duck breast which he requested rare. They have a fun listing of cocktails, a nice selection from the regular and a prix fixe menus, and our service was excellent.
The Prix Fixe option is a very good value and the food was very good. Lovely setting with dim lighting. As in previous dining experiences there - the service is acceptable but quite cool. More attention to details would be appropriate for a high end restaurant.
Perfect eggs Benedict and my friend loved the lobster scramble. Lovely garden room ambiance. Waitress was professional and responsive without being intrusive.
Would have been nice if We were furnished with Prix Fix dinner menu when we sat down. Benny our waiter was fantastic. How about adding some reasonably priced glasses of wine to menu?
Service and food were both excellent. Server was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to provide very good recommendations. Food was very good and would definitely have dinner there again.
Amazing dining experience! Foremost, our server Benny was the best. He was professional, very personable, and genuinely invested in assuring that everything was perfect. Having a server like Benny is akin to dining at your best friends home and the reason we will return over and over again requesting him. Next, the meal. With every bite all I could do was gush over how incredibly delicious it was and that carried through to every course! My sincerest compliments to the chef because everything from appetizers to desert was sheer perfection! Everything was impeccably prepared and plated beginning with the succulent scallops, moving on to the strip steak that was the most delicious, perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked piece of beef with accompaniments worthy of the my highest rating ... anywhere! Now, the desert.. the PARIS TEA POT DE CRÈME was decadent with so many delicious nuances it was choc-gasmic! Too much to say here without being redundant, suffice it to say that I can’t wait to return here as there are few restaurants I can honestly say hit all the high marks as The Blue Hen.
Fixed price dinner was excellent . Great Apps but small entrees but that was ok.
Amazing food. We cook all the time, chef-level meals, and this was a superior experience. Honestly the only odd aspect was the music...it didn't fit the atmosphere.
Lovely setting and service so professional. Salmon was the best in flavor I have ever had. So nice that the Adelphi recognizes the value to offering more affordable options for those "quieter" times in Saratoga where the locals can enjoy a reasonable but elegant meal. Reward to them will be ten fold. Hope to see you for Restaurant Week in the future.
Great service, food and atmosphere! Highly recommend for business or pleasure
Wanted to try a new restaurant for our anniversary and we liked the Prix three special.
Service was below average, food wasn’t great. Very mediocre experience.
Prix fixed dinner great value. Interesting choice of entrees / appetizers deliciously prepared.
Had a great dinner celebrating my son’s new job. Food on the price fixe menu was fabulous! Thanks to the chef for sauces on the side making my meal a little healthier.
Thoroughbreds have always come to Saratoga Springs, NY -- whether as pedigreed horses for its racetracks or pedigreed gentry wining and dining on Broadway. Add a new, culinary thoroughbred to this historic stable: Chef David Burke's The Blue Hen at the Adelphi Hotel. The winter prix fixe menu -- three Michelin-caliber courses with a glass of wine -- and panaché with which its staff delivers each step of your culinary adventure (hint: ask for Benny), makes this a truly fine, dining experience.
We simply can't stop 'crowing' about The Blue Hen.
Food was great and the Bloody Mary was amazing.
The eggs and avocado toast was fresh and tasty. We also had the strip steak and eggs with roasted vegetables which was a both delicious and hearty.
The atmosphere is tasteful and bright with glass ceiling and big windows.
Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We celebrated a birthday at brunch and it was a great outing.
This is the best of the best in Saratoga, the food is outstanding and the service is top notch. The squash bisque is a perfect winter appetizer, and the Lamb Crepinette is incredible. On the service side, Ryan paired the wines perfectly with my courses, but every server and manager makes you feel welcome. Incredible hospitality, I cant wait to go back!
What a lovely discovery during our weekend in Saratoga Springs! Light, airy environment with excellent food and service. Perfect for brunch!
The wait staff was good but the food was disappointing. The kitchen did not seem to know the brunch menu and sent out a dish that was unfinished, which took several minutes to be remedied. An overthought menu that falls flat.
Breakfast was wonderful. Great fresh coffee. Egg selections were delicious and the apple cider cinnamon donut holes excellent.
