The food is so fresh and delicious, service is great, love the decor. A favorite place in Breckenridge!
Excellent in every way
We had a very annoying experience at Blue Fish. We ordered all our food together and end up not receiving my daughter’s poke bowl till 30 minutes later after we were all finished with our meal. There excuse was, it was made from another station in the restaurant. Never heard that one before. Their timing was way off of serving food all together. The manager removed it from the bill as well as drinks. Their lobster roll.... not worth the money.
Our first time at the restaurant and probably the last. Word of caution.. don’t eat sushi in the mountains.
Front to back, a great experience! My husband always says a restaurant must have 3 things...great service, great food and great drinks. The Blue Fish nailed them all. Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Continues to be the best of its kind in Breck. Never disappoints.
They weren’t open and clearly didn’t update their hours with you guys
Food was amazing. We had such a good time. Shannon was so sweet everyone in the party loved her! Crab pot stickers and Kobe Mandu. Sushi was excellent. Everyone in our party was happy with the choices
The food was outstanding! Sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, saki all were great. We will definitely go back there when we visit Breck again!
THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A BLUE FISH. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE THE FOOD TOOK AN HOUR TO COME OUT AND IT WAS ALL RAW FISH ROLLS. THE WAITER SEEMED TO BE A BIT HIGH AND NOBODY KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON.
BAD EXPERIENCE AND I WILL NOT GO BACK. I AM FROM DALLAS AND I LOVE BLUE FISH THIS WAS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT AND WASTE OF MONEY BECAUSE EVEN THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD WAS NOT TO THE STANDARDS OF THE BLUE FISH IN DALLAS.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU HAVE HOURS TO SPEND FOR MEDIOCRE SUSHI AND A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO ARE SO HIGH THEY ARE NOT WORRIED ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON.
The poke bowl was delicious.
It was extremely loud at first but I think party was going on. It went down a bit. Took a while to get food but waitress was tentative.
We arrived on time, things seemed very chaotic from the start. There wasnt really anyone working as a host, so it was very hard to even tell someone we arrived. After 20 minutes and having walkins be seated before us (the person who was seating was using a piece of paper, totally ignoring my group and another who booked with Open Table) we decided to leave.
Just remove this place from OpenTable as they dont honor reservations and dont appear to have any systems in place that are basic restaurant practices.
I’ll first say that we are spoiled to live in a city with some of the best sushi and award winning restaurants. The potstickers were advertised to be prepared steamed, pan fried or deep fried. We ordered them pan fried but they came out looking deep fried. We questioned it and were told they were correct. Taste was bland and disappointing. The popcorn shrimp was okay but we did not care for the breading; we’ve had a similar dish elsewhere with more of a light tempura batter that was better. The sashimi was nice, portions generous. The sushi rice in the rolls had a gummy, weird consistency. We did not try any main courses. Cute place and nice service, food was just okay.
We had reservations, but the place was jammed and they were having trouble accommodating everyone. The place is pretty small and no place for people to wait around- couldn’t get to the bar for a drink while we waited., wasn’t greeted by a host for at least 10 minutes. We were seated 30 minutes late and servers were doing the best they could, but they were scrambling! Food was good, but hoping management gets this place more organized. Just mayhem in the front room area!
Want sushi in a mountain town? I would recommend Blue Fish. We ordered lots of menu items and nothing was amiss.
BUT- the minute we signed the billfold on a very pricey meal, staff asked us to move to the bar. I mentioned to them that we were about to leave, and the staff member (as nicely as someone can say it) asked that we move to the bar immediately so they could make the table ready for a large group.
As someone who has worked in restaurants, I know its rude to sit at a table for hours after the meal is finished. But as a patron, I believe I can sit for 5 minutes and finish the last bit of my sake.
Opportunity for improvement
Seated by elevator and dish area - there should not be a table there. Dishes loaded and constantly transported to dirty dish room
One of the meals was not served for a guest - had to ask status - waiter didn’t know or realize - let us know someone must have taken it - would we like to read order ? Meal came when all guests were done. Check came and had the meal on the bill. We had to request consideration for removal
Seated 20 minutes after our reservation. Raucous crowd not what I would expect at a sushi restaurant. Will go to Mountain Flying Fish next time.
Good, but seating by the door was cold.
Always wonderful food and service. Fresh, well prepared food. Outstanding happy hour.
Overall a nice dinner, but the reservation is more a place in the waiting line rather than a table waiting for you. Nonetheless food was good and staff did everything they could to serve us as quickly as possible.
We arrived slightly late and they were able to accommodate us and did so very politely and rather quickly considering it was a very busy night. Our waitress was very prompt and attentive and helped make suggestions for menu items. The food was outstanding! Wonderful sushi. We ate every bite!
Food is excellent- we've been to the Blue Fish in Houston many times. However the service was beyond bad. From the host/manager who was seating people to the terrible servers and slow service
Very Disappointed with the treatment from our server. Very expensive for the experience and the food. I read the reviews and I thought this was going to be a great experience... to bad it was a disappointment. I don’t like to leave bad reviews but they really need to train better their employees on customer service.
Just overall eh
Food was awesome. Really really good and no complaints whatsoever.
Service was good until our server brought the check. Was getting ready to pay until she insisted we try the ice cream. We assumed this would be comped after an expensive meal — she had already brought the final bill. Great. After she cleared the dessert, she took away our old bill and printed out a new check with the dessert added onto it. Wasn’t really a good look since she was the one who talked us into dessert in the first place.
During our recent ski trip to Breckenridge, our group had dinner at The Blue Fish and enjoyed an excellent sushi dinner. A delicious experience- food, service & atmosphere. Thanks...
Fantastic, highly recommend
Vacation dinner. Had at least three different servers, was very confusing and it took a very long time to get our entrees.
Besides the signature scallop dish (scallops over a California roll) I would not recommend this place. The waitress was flighty and things kept being asked numerous times within a short amount of time, plus food and or drinks had to be requested more than once. The restaurant was out of two items on the appetizer menu, and could also not make one of their drinks listed on the menu. This was our first time at Blue Fish and we will not be returning.
Food was very slow coming out from the kitchen. While I would expect this if the place was packed, but we came early to beat the rush. The rolls were pretty bland and rice did not taste fresh, but the presentation was fine. Server was forgetful and not very engaging.
I have been to the Blue Fish in The Woodlands, TX and had high expectations for dinner, which were not met. I would not recommend this establishment to any of my friends vacationing in Breckenridge.
Very sad that a Japanese restaurant ran out of pickled ginger. This should never happen.
First meal we’ve had that was really sub par. We were disappointed because we like eating there. Our server was very nice.
Sushi was good reg food average
Everything was horrible
They were out of things.. endame , lots of things
Food want great
Miso soup was cold when we told waiter he told us that was impossible!!
It was ridiculous
The waitress was nice
Andy was great but sashimi was “off” they were also out of so much
Food was fantastic. We were able to slide in at the last minute on a crowded weekend. Only complaint was that they seemed short staffed. Our server was running around with no backup. But still had a great meal
It was fresh and delicious. We were greeted warmly at the door and seated right away even though we arrived early for our reservation time. The Blue Fish Tower appetizer was so yummy. Also had the crab potstickers which were amazing. We will be back if we return to Breckenridge!
The space is too cramped. The staff was clearly not happy. Lots of excuses. The food is good. But not good enough to make me want to go back to that cramped table.
Great food and service on a busy holiday weekend. We will go back.
