The Blue Duck
The Blue Duck offers a contemporary Australian menu using the freshest local ingredients. Come as you are, off the beach with sand between your toes or enjoy dinner taking in the last rays of sun on our deck.
Not in the heart of the Cottesloe rowdiness so definitely adds to the intimate restaurant ambience. Sunset off the balcony was spectacular and the seating configuration gives everyone a bit of their own privacy.
The menu was not overly fussed but catered for every taste and the food was beyond yummy!
The staff made my partner feel ultra special on his birthday and the general friendliness was so delightful.
It's definitely a place on my FAVE list
Booked a table easily online staff very friendly great service and asked if everything okay.Have been several times and will come back
We have been to the blue duck a few times at different sittings. Always love the breakfast and sitting out on the balcony. As long as you go during out of weekends you can usually get a seat outside. Staff are genuinely lovely and upbeat. Tuesday was windy but just as I offered to get jackets out of the car for my friend the hostess/waitress turned up with blankets.. and a friendly smile, and an offer of a warm sunlit table inside. We declined the offer and sat outside for the view and the fresh air. Food, juices and service spot on. Mistake at register immediately rectified ?our fault for trying to pay twice) and we left the venue discussing the awesome customer service.
We arrived early and was great but later with increase in guest, it got a bit noisy and busy. However, that's the nature of business and we were happy in all aspect.
Loved the setting and view, great food ,great service, enjoyed it
We had lunch and the restaurant was not busy. The waitress service was good but we did have to wait for the food. Overall, I would return.
The food is as beautiful as the view! Great service and ambiance.
Had the lamb cutlets the lunch special was really good the mussels on the otherhand were a disappointment especially as it was my mother's birthday lunch and she ordered them .... good consistency in the other food as I seen going to other customers and beautiful view
Glorious location, fantastic welcoming nothing-too-much-trouble service staff, great varied menu but my dining companion’s sirloin was a tad grisly but cooked beautifully to perfection!
Awesome food, wonderful view, and very helpful staff.
Good food, beautiful view, absolutely lovely. The waiter was attentive but not over the top. A terrific venue.
I ordered the ragu, never tasted one worse! No flavour what’s so ever, and they had completely forgot the seasoning. The service was great, but the food was so disappointing
Love the Sufers brekkie with its tasty selection of bacon, egg (done your way)hash browns etc....
We booked online, were seated then asked to move to another table due to a seating error. New table in front of a constantly opening door with a cold draft. Food excellent.
Particularly loved our French waiter who was very attentive😀
Great spot for a family lunch for Fathers Day
I feel the standards have slipped, the venue look tired & the glass windows were almost opaque with salt spray. The food was fine- but not outstanding. No water on table- had to ask staff. Overall- ok as not too expensive, but feel it could be much more exciting.
Staff were excellent and I was surprised to see such a prime location do fairly priced
Great service, food, coffee whilst sitting on the beach... almost 😁
The staff were friendly and attentive, our food was great. We didn't have to wait long for our meal. a good wine list too. We would go there again.
No children's menu. The food we wanted to order for lunch was only available from 4pm onwards which was annoying. Otherwise service good, food was nice.
The service is always slow
But on this occasion waited 45 minutes for a coffee ... when querying this I was told there was a 30 min wait fir coffee. This should have been stated when we first arrived ..
50 mins in total before food arrived ..
Staff looked put out when asking for things like butter
Had to go get own water and butter in the end.
Lovely casual style restaurant. Meals were good portion size and were delicious! Service was prompt and staff friendly
We were impressed with the table service we received at the Blue Duck for the pasta and vino special. The waiter deserves to be commended for his manner, friendliness and menu guidance. The food was delightfully fresh and tasty . And what a view as the sun went down! It was very good value for money and a lovely meal out mid week. We'll definitely return.
Always great value and a great view staff is fantastic
Our go to place for brekky on a Saturday
Food was delicious. Wonderfully quiet on a Tuesday night ,so easy to chat.
Very pleasant service and enjoyable food. Tiramisu to die for!
worst ever. from i entered till i left no one service the table.no menu no water no service. terrible experience. and at that time no too many customers at all.
Great view. Service slow (a bit stressed - they were very busy). Food excellent value given the position.
Two bits of toast would be better than one with full breakfast especially as mine was clearly close to the edge of the loaf & very small compared to other plates at the table.
Hot chocolates barely lukewarm & were for adults. Service was fabulous.
Need some artificial sweetener on tables.
Coffee was delicious & the place was clean & fresh.
Lovely breakfast on Sunday. Outstanding service and beautiful food.
Pleasant Waitress but on a Saturday was totally rushed off her feet. Fish was drenched in olive oil, chips were way too salty. Great location but really would not recommend.
We arrived at sunset and sat on the deck ... a perfect evening. We took advantage of the pasta and wine offer. There were three pastas to choose from and we both chose the eggplant fettuccine. It was delicious .. full of flavour but the sauce was light. A pleasant red wine completed our meal. As a local it has been a long time between visits to The Blue Duck but I will be returning for another pasta night.
Wonderful experience for my sister visiting from uk
Food was not very nice. My pasta was undercooked and very salty so had to stop eating. The fish and chips were also not very nice- the fish was really fishy tasting and chips dry.
Great value for money with quick, efficient and friendly service. Great location and managed to get parking easily enough.
Great value breakfast with great views of the Indian Ocean. Friendly helpful staff.
Will be back for sure..
Great experience for breakfast, 12 dollar Breky was so good will be back
Average over priced food. I had an upset stomach from lunch.
Came for breakfast(8) with three work colleagues, we had no service for 20min and even after that time one of us had to go inside to order coffee. When the coffee finally arrived we ordered some bloody Mary’s which again took a very long time to arrive. The menu said early morning tipple price for a Bloody Mary was $13, when we got the bill we were charged $16 each.
The staff where very inattentive and not very friendly creating a stressful 2 and half hour breakfast that should have been done and dusted in 1 .5
Very disappointing as a supposedly premier beach cafe
