Dont eat here! Service and place is nice, but food is bad!!!
The staff and the meal were both amazing - I HIGHLY recommend the hotel, the restaurants and spending any time you can there.
Good food but be prepared to pay for it. Bar kind of pricey also.
Celebrity Chef was great but my $65 ribeye was an absolute ripoff. Go eat somewhere else and save yourself some money. I cool a better steak at home and that’s not saying much.
The food was great, though a bit pricey for what you ultimately receive. I would eat here again but probably on a "busier" night to gauge the overall value and noise level. The staff were incredibly friendly and Sutton was a great waiter. We appreciate his service!
Good wax absolutely the best I have encountered in the area. The onion soup is absolutely a cut above, as was the calamari.
The sea bass was perfect and the risotto was nice blend.
The drinks were generous and well crafted.
I highly recommend and will be back on my next trip
This is a great restaurant. We were in Parkersburg staying at the Blennerhasset Hotel for three nights and enjoyed dinner there each night. All the staff are well trained and knowledgeable. The food preparation was excellent and all our dishes quite flavorful. We can especially recommend the Miso Salmon, summer salad, scratch soups and desserts. All the offered wines were excellent but also good value.
I can only speak on the special Greek menu that was ran, but the food was amazing. Nice and quiet and very beautifully decorated for Halloween/Fall.
Enjoyed Greek dinner. Cocktail creation Metaxa martini was very good. Flaming cheese appetizer was the favorite. Lamb and the apple puffs were also delicious.
We would look forward to returning.
We were staying overnight so we decided to have the Sunday brunch before we checked out. Good we were not in a hurry! Took at least 45 min. for our food to come. Would have been great if the server had ever apologized or offered some kind of explanation. I realize a lot of restaurants are short staffed, but again, just a kind word would have helped. The food, when it came, was just ok. The avocado toast did not use fresh avocados, which was disappointing. Cannot recommend other than convenience.
My mom and I went to enjoy the guest chef Kiki Angelos' Greek food. The food was very enjoyable and so was the entertainment with belly dancers and Greek dancing. I appreciated the fact that the guest chef circulated among the tables as well. It was a fun experience that was a little different.
The food was much less quality than expected. The steak was okay, but quality of apple bees. The mashed potatoes were good but bread was terrible.
The food was very good and the presentation artistic. We went to the Sunday brunch. The service was extremely slow. Make sure you have time for a leisurely meal.
We stayed at the hotel and made late reservations for the dining room, which only seats about 40 people. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere after traveling all day. The patio was beautiful, full of plants. That evening, they had a good band and fun crowd. Our waiter was spot on with service. My husband had the prime rib, which he said was cooked as perfectly as you can cook one. I had the 1/2 Deli Chicken over orzo from the Greek guest chef menu. While I dont care for orzo in butter/oil, the flavor was still wonderful with the chicken. Dessert was pineapple upside cake. I'm still trying to figure out why the texture was off...frozen maybe? It was ok.
The next day we had lunch on the patio. WOW. I had the salmon burger on a dill Kaiser roll, which was simply the best I have ever had. It was not dry on the least. My husnand had the fully loaded burger with bacon and mushrooms. Very satisfied. And again, good waitstaff!
Lovely outdoor atmosphere and ambience. Excellent service. Lavender martini, Perfectly grilled salmon! Delicious caprese salad all amazing!!
The best sea bass I have had in years ! The staff and the atmosphere were amazing relaxing and extremely friendly , this is the perfect place to get away for a quiet evening with amazing food and people! Many thanks to the restaurant and hotel staff! 😁
Delicious food, friendly waiter, but wish there were a few more meal selections.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Loved the table side meal and the chef was excellent.
We came in town to visit family and visited the Blennerhassett restaurant twice over the weekend. The first visit was for three of us to have lunch and we were not served our food for an hour and 45 minutes! Fortunately, we were visiting with people we had not seen in a long time end it wasn’t as painful as other tables were experiencing.
By The time our food arrived we were starving and received several apologies from the waitress. You could tell she was horrified, but the fact of the matter is the service from the kitchen in the restaurant was absolutely horrible!! I had a salad which was very good, but did not reflect the fact that the kitchen could not serve their food hot… Which was what we experienced two mornings later at breakfast.
Wanting to give the Blennerhassett a second chance, was a mistake! There were five of us that had breakfast and it was two hours before we got our breakfast and it was cold, served incorrectly and was not good. Nothing like cold fried eggs or hard poached eggs and a cold, hard block of hash brown casserole! Absolutely unacceptable!
Again, the waitress was horrified and a head waitress came out to apologize. However, one of the owners was there, and never took the opportunity to apologize or compensate us for The horrendous experience we had.
I can’t remember the last time I provided a negative review and I feel horrible about it, but I think that people need to know that they have gone downhill or they are truly struggling with recovering from the pandemic. I hope it is the latter and that they can return to the wonderful restaurant that they used to be.
Dining while traveling through and staying in hotel
We at outside in a BEAUTIFUL garden patio on a 78 degree day. Food was awesome but pricey, servers were very nice but VERY slow.
The food was delicious. My only complaint is with the portion sizes. Three of us order the same meal and received different sizes of fish. Mine was the smallest of the three. Other than that. I would return. Try the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee.
Had a beautiful anniversary dinner. They even put a sparkler in our dessert to wish us a happy anniversary.
Everything was wonderful as always.
Experience was underwhelming. Restaurant was not particularly busy, but still took a very long time before anyone took our order first at the bar and then later at the table. Very limited menu presented. After we ordered and had our food, we observed other meals at an adjacent table that were not presented as an option on our menu. Salmon was fine. The pasta had little flavor. The salad entree was little more than a side salad.
We booked a reservation, but when we arrived, they had no tables. We found out that “walk-ins” were allowed to simply bump those who’d gone to the trouble of making a reservation. We were not the only ones to be upset with this practice.
July 4th dinner
We absolutely loved spending the Fourth of July at the Blennerhassett Hotel complete with fireworks!
Great live jazz. great seats to watch fireworks. barbeque not so great. no offer of anything else to eat on that particular event.
Great service and wonderful selection of food. What more is there to say?
We had 8:15 reservations and were seated about 8:20. Dinner was slow taking an hour. The eggplant was delicious as well as the spinach. My wife’s shrimp pasta had overcooked shrimp. Typically we don’t find pasta to be of good value at any restaurant but this was particularly bad for $26. Not sure if worth the $75 price tag for this and two beers. Perhaps we should have ordered the ribs as it is their specialty, but it was too late in the evening for that. Unfortunately the wait was far too long for that time of night. The staff was apologetic and gave us a free dessert for the bother. It was disappointing given that we were looking forward to this after such a long drive.
Thank you for your visit and your feedback. Each dish we serve is made-to-order to ensure higher quality. Our goal extends beyond serving a meal; we want to provide you with a memorable evening out. I also wish to apologize for your wife's shrimp. We aim for everything that comes out of our kitchen to be the best possible quality. In the rare case of an unsatisfactory dish component, we will always make it right. Thank you for reaching out to us and we hope you will consider us again.
Friend and I met for brunch. Menu had 5-6 options as 3 course meal. Bloody Mary was excellent. Attentive service and great ambience, outdoor patio was beautiful.
Not inexpensive. $65 for 2.
Sadly, this restaurant is not what it used to be. We dined here approximately 10 years ago and had a very nice meal. Though the ambiance on the outdoor patio is beautiful, the food and service were not good. The margarita was made from a mix and tasted too sweet. The roasted brussel sprouts were not roasted but lightly steamed and had no flavor. The roasted cod was not thoroughly cooked and had to be sent back. Instead of ordering another entry, my husband shared my caesar salad with chicken. There was no garlic in the caesar dressing, no anchovies, and no parmesan. The cheese was some sort of shredded mozzarella. We ordered a bottle of rose, thinking it was still, but it turned out to be sparkling. It was fine, but should have been properly described as sparkling on the wine list.
Linda, Thank you for taking the time to write this feedback. I want to personally apologize for your evening. Due to the pandemic, limited staffing issues overwhelmed us at the time with guests who were expecting everything back to normal in a short period of time. We pride ourselves in making things right. I see we have adjusted your final bill to reflect the food you found unacceptable. We are implementing several systems to better ensure that your next visit will be stellar. ~ Travis S
The food was good but nothing exceptional to warrant the price.
Outrageously over priced. 🤦🏻♀️
Hi Jackie. Thank you for commenting. We are committed to our goal of continuing to give the Mid-Ohio Valley an experience not found elsewhere in Parkersburg. Our menus are created and executed by culinary professionals using ingredients from farmers within a radius that ensures you are getting the best-of-the-best.
Very enjoyable . The waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, made us feel welcomed.
Lovely dinner, and good food. A little expensive though.
The Blennerhassett Hotel is both historic and charming. Lovely accommodations and very friendly, attentive service both at the time of check in and check out. The lounge area has a great, energetic vibe without it being loud. The menu choices for dinner were varied and the quality of the food was excellent. It's one of our favorite places for an overnight or weekend getaway.
I don’t understand how anyone could complain about a dining experience at the Blennerhassett Hotel. Perfection!
