We'd been here before a few years ago and it was outstanding, but has clearly gone downhill. The food is exceptional, but the terrible service and frigid restaurant aren't worth dealing with to eat there. I had to go back up to the host stand just to get someone to come to our table after having been seated for several minutes, and the service didn't improve from there. It also felt like there was no heat on at all, when it was in the 30s outside. The only way I'd eat here again is if I got takeout.
Fresh tasteful food. Wide selection fir Sunday Brunch. Respectful and attentive staff.
Great hostess service, immediately seated. Server "Frank" was outstanding. Attention details and recommendations were spot on. From cocktail drinks to main course.
Highly recommend, if you are visiting this area for a lunch, dinner or a drink
Our server Shakira was great! The food is good as well. The cocktails are just ok. But overall it was a good time and I would come back.
The food and service was great! Came to celebrate to birthdays and the food was delicious!
Great service from Molly!!
Server was very good, I’m sad I forgot her name she was working Wednesday night blondish hair with highlights. I the food & service was great. We will be back.
Loved the atmosphere and food. Will visit again !
It was a great experience. Food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Definitely will be back soon.
Took 10 min for a server to come to my table by the fireplace.
For two appetizers, the Brussels sprouts and fried green tomatoes were wonderful. The salmon and kale salad, as an entree, was amazing. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Relaxed, but refined, atmosphere makes this a go-to destination for a simple lunch, dinner with family and friends, or a grand celebration.
This is a great gem! The service was outstanding! I will definitely be returning.
I enjoyed myself thoroughly along with my family members. The food was good however they had to send some plates back because it was cold. Other wise everything was perfect! This was my second dining at this restaurant and you can be sure I will be dining here again!
What can I say, it was a wonderful experience. Our waiter was exceptional.Friendly, attentive and on point. The entre was great as well as the appetizers. The only problem we had was the Arnold Palmer tea. Who makes that with no sugar!!
Sunday brunch was outstanding. Great menu, food was tasty with just the right seasonings. Fresh not processed foods on the table. It’s nice to self serve again like pre pandemic -would just recommend someone staylposted at the table to change out serving spoons more frequently. Overall great meal and I have recommended to at least 5 people already. I will be back!!
Like the location but I think I prefer Alexandria because of the live band. All in all very good!
This was our 2nd visit. We were seated in the lounge area this time. In our opinion, The atmosphere is better in the barn because we really like the live music. The food was just OK this time. Just an FYI: the duck fries are amazing with the spicy ketchup….highly recommend.
One of the best dining experiences we have experienced in 2021. Great food for you money. Wait staff was very energetic and amiable.
Fast friendly courteous hostess and knowledgeable wait staff. Timing of food and service was spot on! Definitely a repeat visit will be needed!!
The food and service were top notch! We were celebrating a career milestone for our daughter and Black Wall proved to be the perfect spot for a memorable family gathering.
Terrific restaurant! Staff was excellent. Food was amazing!
This is a nice place with limited dining room seating capacity. A lot left for desire to have a cozy and intimate dinner engagement with your spouse for a wedding anniversary.
The food and service were great! Always a pleasure to go here and enjoy a wonderful meal.
Food was very good. Loved the fried green tomatoes. Very nice ambiance. I had the rockfish. Hubby had prime rib. No complaints. Delicious. Table was a little dirty. Floor had food spilled underneath. But would go back.
Exceptional food, service and ambience. Truly a remarkable restaurant.
Overall good experience. The restaurant was almost cool to the point we needed to put our jackets on. The cold restaurant caused the food to come out cooler than you’d expect and cooled off quickly. The food was delicious but could have been so much better. Hoping the heating issue was due to the chasing season. We would come again.
One dish hasn’t cooked enough(not raw, bloody fried chicken). The other dish (red brick oven chicken) wasn’t the same as a previous meal at the restaurant. The drinks were terrible (not mixed properly and both old fashions were horrible). Disappointed, but will try again at some point.
The ambiance here is very pleasant and warm. The noise level was very, very manageable. Our server and the hostess were attentive in unobtrusive manner. The Hamburger was meaty and well cooked. One of our party had the pan fried halibut which was perfectly cooked and delicious. The only menu item that was not notable was the medium rare NY Strip steak which was too medium and not enough rare. All in all, we will be going back again for the excellent service and tasty food.
I have visited your restaurant several times, for dinner, and twice for Sunday brunch. While I thoroughly enjoyed dinner, every time, and have told several people about your restaurant, I must say that I am sorely disappointed with the Sunday brunch. For starters, the fact that it's $42 suggests that it's upscale, like dinner. However, the kitchen staff unfortunately do not devote the same attention to the items on the brunch menu that they do for the dinner items. The presentation is sloppy and the food, both times I came for brunch, was just mediocre. Yesterday there was actually burnt chicken on the buffet. I'm sorry I did not take a picture to show you. The grits were too stiff and had no taste at all. The gentleman on the omelet station was skimping on the fillings and using way too much oil! The cinnamon rolls were dry, cold, and hard, probably from sitting out too long. There were four in my part and none of us were happy with the buffet. I would suggest you ditch the buffet and just concentrate on serving made to order items from the menu. Or, as an alternative, please step your game WAY up on the Sunday brunch.
I know you get a lot of visitors for the Sunday brunch, it's always packed, so I'm sure that sends a signal that everything is just fine the way it is. But, I suspect a lot of people come there and don't order off the brunch menu. Also, I suspect that a lot of your brunch clientele do not have very discerning tastes or don't bother to write a review. I can't imagine how anyone who loves shrimp and grits could think that yesterday's version was anything but dull.
My husband and I just love this place. They have GREAT food, GREAT drink selections and their staff goes above and beyond to make your experience a wonderful one! We always look forward to celebrating milestone occasions with Black Wall : )
Great food, drinks! New menus ❤️. Wonderful service (thanks Hannah)!
You will enjoy this restaurant as soon as you walk in, very inviting and the food is superb !
excellent food, solid service, pleasant atmosphere - a fine choice for informal but elegant eating. will be back!
Celebrated my wife’s birthday
My friends had a great meal. I am vegetarian and I know many restaurants even though they claim to have a vegan menu honestly cannot make a tasty meal. I ordered from the vegan menu. Got a salad that came with cheese on it. The I was served pasta with lots of meat. Sent it back. Then I was served partially cooked pasta, no sauce and rather than the farm house veggies got a few halves of cherry tomatoes and a few olives. They sent me home with an entrée that was basically a rubberized Portobello mushroom so tough I could not chew it.
My non-vegetarian friends had a great meal and the place is great. If you are vegetarian avoid ordering anything other than a salad.
The service was excellent. The food not so much. The Old Bay Wings were delicious, cooked to perfection. My Halibut dish was flavorless. My cousin had the Snake Bite Pasta. Sauce was watery with no flavor as well. Desserts, bread pudding and chocolate cake was lacking as well.
This is where we go for special occasions. The food is always very good & the service is exceptional.
This was our 1st time dining here & we had high hopes. However, we waited 20 minutes at our table before going back to the hostess to ask where our waitress was. She finally came over about 10 minutes later to say she'd be back with bread & came back about 5 minutes after that. She apologized for our wait, said it was her 2nd day back & it was a busy night for her. She was very pleasant with a nice personality but she just wasn't attentive at to us all. There were 3 other tables behind us that she was also serving who she visited each 2-3 times without ever coming back to our table. Our water glasses had been long empty with all but myself being without a drink. I had been rationing mine so I didn't run out. Two of our party waited 30 minutes for their 2nd order of moonshine that she said she'd be right back with. Our other party member waited 20 minutes with no drink at all. When she did finally come back to our table I had to remind her that she hadn't brought the 2 drinks out to which she apologized but blamed it on someone else who was apparently supposed to do it for her. Again, when she was at the table she was lovely but she just wasn't checking on us enough. We were there to celebrate a birthday so we would have been ordering more drinks & stayed for dessert but decided against it. The food overall was decent. I really enjoyed the duck fat fries & the calamari was delicious. However, the amount of calamari given was the smallest portion I've seen at a restaurant. The wild game burger & lamb got high praise from our party but myself & another were unimpressed with the huntsman pasta. We both agreed that there was hardly any meat, we saw no mushrooms at all & overall it tasted like something we could have easily made at home from a packet. We had an extra brussels sprout appetizer that no one ordered brought out with the meal as well. Overall, after being there for around 2 hrs, we left disappointed with the experience. I wouldn't exactly recommend this place.
I had a wonderful experience! The service was great! The quality and portion of food was exceptional for the price. My guest and I had a great time! I will be back! I tried to get in for Thanksgiving and already I’m too late. You’re all booked up!!!
Good. Very good.
