Great spot for brunch! Enjoyed the food and great cocktails as well.
We were staying at the Marriott Renaissance and had a leisurely walk with our four year old daughter to the restaurant. Our waitress (Melissa) was super - very professional and cordial. The menu had something for most palates. My wife had the chicken dish and I had the snapper. My wife was very satisfied with hers, but my snapper was under cooked. The chef immediately took care of the problem, but there's that lag where my wife is enjoying her meal while I'm waiting for mine. I would go back especially given they were super nice and immediately acknowledged and resolved the issue.
We LOVED the tasting menu! It was our first time doing such a thing, and we really enjoyed the experience. The service and the food were both fantastic!
Chefs Tasting Menu with Wine Flights is not only the best deal in town but it’s also the best food!!
Overall, Blackbird was underwhelming. The young man who seated our table was the highlight of the visit. Beyond that, the wine list was uninspired, the menu offered a lot of pretty bites that were not memorable, and the server, though pleasant, forgot our appetizer order. There was nothing showstoppingly wrong, but nothing was exceptional. I would not eat there again and would not recommend it to others.
My trout dish was divine! I enjoyed people watching from the front table. Very nice and friendly staff.
Menu is very limited and somewhat pricey. Our charcuterie plate's meats were dry and notvisually very appealing in their presentation.
Chef friendly and made an effort to meet the customers. Excellent wait staff. Great dining experience.
Quaint atmosphere. City vibe. Great waitstaff. Food was truly delicious. Enjoyed signature drink
The food was good. Really delicious grit cakes. Chicken was flavorful, although a tad dry. Sides well prepared and portions are adequate. Will return.
We visited for brunch. The food was tasty although my favorite items that I ordered were the French press coffee and house mimosa.
Highly recommend the Blackbird in Asheville! Good idea to make reservations. Tasty and would come back and eat there again!
Both meals were excellent! Brussels sprouts starter was a little under cooked and bland. Drink menu was terrible. I couldn't find anything on the menu I liked. I tried for a simple mojito but no mint leaves. Bartender attempted something that was not good. Then, I asked for champagne - also terrible. I know it sounds like I have a terribly picky palate, but I really don't. Anything with rum, or light vodka drink, etc and I'm fine. These were all brandy, and whiskey, etc.
The food was generally good. However, my drink order got messed up twice. I'm not sure if it was the server's or bartender's fault; but drinks are expensive and help put a diner in a pleasant mood. Last not I was not in a pleasant mood.
The food was amazing. Very happy with everything. Perfect for a date night.
Good value. Dessert was amazing. Service was very attentive.
Food was prepared well balanced, tasty, and presented beautifully. We were not rushed and enjoyed our dinner in a very nice relaxed way. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and very personable. We will be back.
Such a delicious meal! Amazing staff! We will be back!
Matt was Awesome! What an incredible experience! Great job!
We are locals and have eaten at Black Bird a number of times. Something has happened in the kitchen. The menu has changed, the presentation and quality of the food is now simply fabulous. The Chef came out and asked us about our food and satisfaction. What has happened. We read about the couple who owns it and has now purchased another restaurant. Obviously, they are transforming Black Bird. Go.
We really really really really really really really liked it
Menu needs to be updated...overpriced and underwhelming
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Service and food were great!
Exceptionally inventive dishes coupled with attentive and competent service. The Goat Cheese Corn Pie and Local Trout with fried Quinoa were delicious!
The Blackbird is a nice restaurant. The food is pretty good although I thought it could be a little better. We had the steak and shrimp salad and the BLT. The BLT was too thick and the tomatoes were overripe. The salad needed more salad and a little less steak. The steak could have been cooked a little more. There weren't but four shrimp in the salad. Overall it wasn't bad. We did have unexpected entertainment. There are not too many places were you can have Easter brunch and see the Easter bunny, a Mardis Gras party bus, the flying nun and Jesus all in one lunch.
Went on a Sunday for brunch. Hubby and I had huevos rancheros. They were delicious. Side of sausage was delicious. My son had a burger and said it was great. My younger son had French toast and he liked it. Had to have the coconut cake. Yum!
Easter Brunch; food was delicious and service was excellent.
Our meal was delicious and the service was great! It was a bit warm in the restaurant, but we would definitely go back!
One of the best breakfast places! Highly recommend.
Loved the restaurant and the food! The chef came out to our table to ask us about our food. The chicken was a little dry and when we mentioned that to the chef we got a free dessert. Otherwise excellent experience overall.
What a great night for our family! The cheese board was fantastic with several meats, a smoked trout and delicious cheeses...some even locally made. The lamb was cooked perfectly and fabulous! We will definitely return!
Food and service was the best!!
We had a vegetarian, a low-card eater, an elderly woman and me for my mother's birthday dinner, and everyone found things to like on the menu and we were all happy with our meals. The vegetarian recommends the Veggie Wellington, I had the pork chop (which was perfectly cooked and came with delicious sides), Mr. Lo-Carb had the beef filet trio with two kinds of vegetables, all good, and Mom had the catch-of-the-day risotto, which she enjoyed. We started with a cheese board, which is listed as "for two" but easily satisfied all four of us. The prices are what you would expect from a high-end but not stratospheric restaurant, but the entree sizes are generous and the proteins come plated with equally generous sides. This is clearly an underrated and underappreciated culinary spot right in the middle of downtown Asheville. We can't afford to eat there regularly, but we'd be happy to go back with out-of-town guests or for a special occasion.
We had my sister's bachelorette party in Asheville and this was such a fun spot to eat for our last night in town. They had great food, great drinks and wonderful service!
It was the best Sunday Brunch we have had since our move to Asheville last summer. We have also had several others equally as good.
Brunch with a large group and they were very accommodating. The food was great, the drinks were quickly refilled, and the service was very speedy. This is always difficult to do with a large group and we really appreciated it.
Somewhat limited menu. The pork chop was excellent! The waitress was really great...funny, helpful and responsive!
Food was amazing and service was top notch!!!
Made a reservation without any expectation and was very impressed. From the warm greeting when we entered to our exceptional service and food I highly recommend The Blackbird. We were there for an early breakfast on a Saturday, we shared the Avacado Toast and Goat Chesse omelet both were delicious and creatively prepared. We will definitely recommend and be back soon.
