Great place with locally sourced ingredients. Menu is not "run of the mill" seafood. Appears the chef has been allowed to let his creative juices flow.

First time eating indoors. Felt a little crowded though tables were 6'apart. Some people kept getting up and leaving the table without their mask.

The Black Whale never disappoints. The oysters were ice cold, fresh and delicious. My husband stated "that was the best stuffed lobster I have ever had in my life" and he is a real connoisseur of seafood. His stuffing was not at all bready, just perfectly prepared seafood. Our vegetables were tasty, fresh and bright with just enough seasoning to enhance the flavors, not hide them. My scallops were cooked perfectly and the mushroom farrotto was a nice variation on traditional risotto with the healthier & hardier grain. The view and decor is a boaters dream, too.

We wanted to try something different for our anniversary dinner. We always seem to go to the same old ones. We made an excellent choice. They seated us quickly. The decor was pretty and relaxed overlooking the harbor. From the appetizer RI Calamari to our dessert the carrot cake, everything was excellent. Our waitress Rebecca did a good job. It was a very nice experience.

Absolutely love the consistency and bar staff.

Great place for fresh seafood and sushi

Nick was our server and he was awesome. Very attentive, super personality and answered our questions with knowledge of the menu.

I had Korean bbq Salmon with soba noodles-delicious!

I had a quick dinner with my daughter. We ordered the Full Boat sushi roll and the Veggie flatbread, both Excellent! THe bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable. We were about to order anther sushi roll and he explained to us that the scallops in that roll are raw...so we did not order and we were extremely thankful that he took the time to explain the dish to us whereas, neither of us like raw scallops.

A pleasure to dine here as always. Thrilled to find out we could buy the delicious smoked cod dip.

The food was excellent as usual. The only thing I was not happy about was the menu online differed from inside. We had our heart set on surf and turf which was the filet and stuffed shrimp. When we ordered it was filet and crab cakes. No interest there. Would really like to see the stuffed shrimp return to its place on the menu. We enjoy the Black Whale and plan to return. We may venture to try other restaurants due to limited menu at the Whale.

Love The Black Whale. We sat at the high tops next to bar. The drinks made were fabulous. The waitress did not bring the crackers and seafood blend. We did miss that. We had the boom boom shrimp, which seem to haves little less shrimp in it as in the past. The taste though is outstanding. My husband snd I decided to order the fish and chips to share as we often do there. The amount of fish was half than the usual amount. Taste though was still fabulous. I believe the decrease in allowed patrons, Covid in general, may have contributed to the quantity of food. Hopefully in time, it will go back to normal. We will be back, as we have now become a regular.

Everything was fresh and order was correct. The burger was cooked how I asked and was tasty. I wish there were a few more non seafood choices. I'm allergic but love to go with my Fiancé and we both love the location, people and atmosphere. The chocolate pecan pie was the best it should be on the menu all the time.
