This was amazing . Started off with the fish skin taco and they were great. They were small for the perfect bite all ingredients went so well together . For the entree the rainbow trout was ordered another great hit the garlic ginger was a perfect flavor under time for the sautéed vegetable . Everything was 5 out of 5
Great food. Top-notch service and cooking execution.
Great restaurant. Awesome food. Get the trout!
Excellent, unique food. Loved the bao sliders, pancakes, duck. Cocktails were amazing and service impeccable.
Sisters fun weekend getaway!
We arrived for our reservation at 8:45 but the table wasn’t ready so we sat at the bar and were immediately asked if we wanted a menu ( I assume this happens often) I said I would wait for our table. At 9 the maitre’d came to tell us for the second time that two tables had paid but we’re still not leaving. We were very hungry so decided to order at the bar. I was quite disappointed but the quick arrival of the food and the delightful flavors soon put me in a much happier place. We ordered the salmon skin tacos but they were sold out and the Thai shrimp ceviche which was very good. We also ordered the vegan scallion pancakes which were delightful. I had the vegan glass noodles which were quite spicy but delicious. I would definitely recommend but not on a Friday night. Next time I will come on a weekday.
Great local restaurant with a lot of food service was a little slow this time but not usually
We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at Black Sheep!! Chef is so talented and the menu —both food and drinks—was creative and so very tasty. Saw Chef on Top Chef and was impressed with how she cooked in the competition, and based on that, I really wanted us to include Black Sheep on our dining itinerary for our trip to Vegas. So happy we did, and highly recommend it, especially if you are foodies. Hunter was our server and a big shout out to him for providing a beautiful, seamless service. Thank you all! Sorry that I didn’t get a chance to shake Chef's hand and personally praise her, but she was busy cooking!! We'll be back—keep up the great work!
Service was spectacular. The meal was incredible. Get off the Strip and take a trip out to the Black Sheep.
My mother in law came sat at the bar, had drinks and appetizers and we had a great time. Thank you to our bartender! He was amazing.
Foodies heaven! Creativeness of Jamie Tran is beyond the stars, in another galaxy! We had salmon tacos, hamachi toast, duck confit, glass noodles! Every preparation a world of its own in creativeness...combination of ingredients complimented the protein. We'll definitely look forward to dining again when we visit Las Vegas! We look forward to what she features and creates for her dining guests!!!
RJ our server did a wonderful job.
Attentive but not overbearing.
The food was a delight.
First time and will be back.
Very pleasant experience with good food and drinks at reasonable prices.
This place is amazing! The food is incredible, great atmosphere, and the service is impeccable - thank you Joel for the awesome service and great conversation! We will be going back every time we are in Vegas. Highly recommend the Bao Buns, steak tartar, and short ribs with the kimchi fried rice. Absolutely phenomenal!
Our food was really good, but the service was very disappointing. We ordered four small plates to share and requested they stagger them, but all ended up coming out pretty much simultaneously. Our waiter seemed attentive, but we were not offered any dessert options and he told us "they are making me leave" when bringing our check...but there was still a full hour left before close. He just seemed like he was in a hurry to leave.
Some really unique menu items. Their seafood was excellent; I had the hamachi aguachile, grilled octopus an scallops. All three were great dishes that I would absolutely have again. The only blemish on the night was my wife’s meal, she is not a seafood fan. She ordered the poached pear salad and beef short rib. The salad was good (4/5) while her short rib was a little on the spicy side and not as tender as we would expect this type of fish to be.
Have been twice and it has been excellent both times. Food and service outstanding. Will visit every time we come to Vegas.
Hamachi aguachile was our favorite, duck confit and the scallops were awesome as well. The cocktails “I heard a rumor” and the espresso martini were delicious. The ambience was cool and we liked the dimmed lights. Service was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu items. Overall great place for date night.
2nd time visiting The Black Sheep and I already can't wait to go back. Menu is small but incredibly innovative. Chef does a fantastic job of mixing flavor combinations. Food was outstanding. Craft cocktails were excellent. Service was attentive, professional and very friendly. Our server was lovely, engaging and had excellent recommendations. I can't say enough positive things about The Black sheep.
The best food ever!!!! Jamie is the best chef. Everything was fresh.
I went solo so I sat at the bar. Erin was super informative and helpful. Been dying to try this place and was super excited for it.
Me and my girlfriend are big fans of top chef and we fell In love with Jamie. Once her restaurant was mention we decided to make a trip of it. We flew in from Chicago and we were amazed by the atmosphere and decor. The food and drink we amazing, it made for a wonderful night. Thank you for a wonderful dinner experience.
Awesome food! Creative and delicious! The pear salad, the octopus and glass noodles were fan favorites from our table!!!! Must dine at this restaurant!!!!!
Such a great find.. everything we got was delicious. The scallops and grass fed ribeye were amazing. Service was a great and friendly.
The food is "top chef" level in a casual atmosphere. Had a wonderful evening and got a picture with Jaime too. Fav dish: Duck Confit on Curry couscous and Steak tartare
I had high expectations after seeing Chef Jamie on Top Chef and our experience met our hopes! We had the warm pear salad and Bao Sliders to start then the Ribeye and Short Rib as our entrees. Great food and great service!
Excellent service, unique flavors, definitely recommend!
Everything was delicious and served straight from the kitchen at the perfect temperature.I can’t recommend this place highly enough!!
Great service sitting at the bar, delicious food from appetizers to desert.
Food & Service was overall amazing! Will definitely be back to try more of Chef Jamie Tran’s delicious food.
Great food with cool twists, great/quick service and a wonderful night out. We are glad we came!
Very good food
Tucked into an unassuming NV strip mall. Interior is industrial looking, not a large space but well appointed. Our server was great! Even got to meet the chef, Jamie Tran, who was a cheftestant on the most recent season of Top Chef. She also signed and "decorated" a menu. She was as adorable in person as she was on Top Chef. The food was great. My husband and I had a lovely dinner and a great way to cap off our exploration of the area.
Black Sheep was a very fine experience! The Bao Buns we’re so incredible that I could have easily skipped the main and ordered more of them — they would easily have sufficed! That said, the scallop entree was equally good…although the spaetzle pairing was a little strange — but again very good. Foodie wife had the glass noodles as an entree and the pear salad. She adored the pear salad — it was yum — but the noodles, cooked on a gochujang sauce — were spicy to the point of excess. (I love spice, but this was over the top.)
Wonderful experience — we’d readily do it again!
Ambiance was lacking, but the food was excellent
Menu is limited. Food was just ok
Food was delicious
Actually more flavor than first visit
My wife and I solely planned our trip to Las Vegas around trying The Black Sheep and trying their famous salmon skin taco. However, when we arrived there and were about to order, the waiter informed us they were sold out for the night. We were extremely disappointed as we were looking forward trying the dish. So that sort of bummed down our dining experience. However, we tried the braised short rib and the fried trout and both were excellent.
Food overpriced, loud, no ambience whatsoever. No need for business casual — everyone in jeans.
Outstanding food and outstanding staff! The duck confit was delicious, the curry was light and flavorful . The salmon skin tacos were to die for. I can’t wait to come back. Hats off to this amazing female chef!
