Great appetizer menu. Salmon skin tacos and the octopus very tasty. We were pretty full after apps so couldn’t finish our entrees. Good size portions. Reasonable price. I enjoyed my martini and liked the wine & whiskey list. I’d be interested in Sunday brunch but it’s football season and no TVs even at the bar. Nonetheless I’d still go back even if it’s only for drinks and apps!!
Head chef greeted us!! Staff was very friendly. Service was prompt and attentive.
A little far out from the strip bit worth it. Small menu but all was delicious.
Very interesting and fabulous food across the menu. Perfect for foodies
The striped bass was a perfect summer entree...light and tasty. Our server Hunter was excellent. All in all the best dinner we’ve had in some time. Our newest favorite restaurant in Las Vegas!
Extremely unique and excellent food!!
The food was good, if not expensive for some of the portion sizes.
We decided to drive out from the strip to give this place a try. It was a quiet night. We were the last table in with an 8:45pm reservation. We ordered 6 small plates- Salmon Skin Tacos, Bao Sliders, Octopus, Fried Beef Tendon, Steak Tartare, Imperial Spring Rolls and the Tres Leche Cake. All were just okay. Nothing to write home about except for the house-made Bao Sliders. Those were outstanding.
Service was good, but the restaurant lacked atmosphere and a good vibe. Sorry to say, not worth the drive.
Outstanding dishes and friendly service.
Gorgeous food. Beautiful drinks. Wonderful service. Can’t ask for much more than that!
Live in LA and have been coming since BS opened. Food is flat out excellent and cocktails amazing. My recent trip to Vegas was three nights and had dinner there each night. Only problem was could not have another dinner there the next night. Thank you Jaime and your outstanding staff for three nights of epic food and drink.
This is the best restaurant in Las Vegas. I've really enjoyed every thing that I've had there. Nice ambiance, excellent service.
This has been on my list for a while and this visit insured we'll be back again and again. The service was great. Just enough attention but not too much. The food was so, so good. We shared the octopus appetizer and the flavors were crazy good. My husband had the short ribs and said they were incredible. (They were gone so fast I couldn't get a taste.) My cousin and I shared the sea bass and the glass noodles and wow...every bite was just delicious. Cocktails were great, wine was good and the whole experience was just fantastic. Can't wait to return!
It was great. Only draw back was I did make a reservation for 2 at 7:45pm and then was told I would still have to wait another 20 minutes before being seated. Which kind of made having a reservation pointless. Thankfully there was seating at the bar and we were able to be seated there instead. Otherwise- it was great dinner and love the brown stones!! (Ps- please put it on the Locale restaurant menu!! :)
Great food and fun presentation. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful with recommending items since it was our first time visiting.
We tasted all of the appetizers and they were all great because we sat at the bar. Next time we will experiment with the entrees. Great place just a few too many tables for a small place.
I always have a great time every visit. The food is so creative. Get the duck, its out of this world!
Amazing neighborhood restaurant about a 20 minute drive from the strip. Cozy, friendly and relaxed. The food was outstanding with salmon skin tacos, beef crisps and octopus being stand-outs as appetizers. Fried Trout, lamb belly and short ribs were the highlights of our main courses. The entire experience was wonderful. You could tell the service staff loved working there and were proud to tell us of the chefs detailed process in the creation and making of all the dishes. My wife, kids and I's favorite restaurant during this Las Vegas trip - we will be back for sure!
The Black Sheep was a pleasant culinary surprise. It was an off-strip fine dining experience at off-strip prices. Chef Jamie Tran created a cultural voyage for our tastebuds, from Vietnam (whole fried rainbow-trout) to The Americas (delicious short ribs). It's fine dining-Esque, great food without the stuffiness. The Black Sheep is family-friendly for adventurous youngsters. The mixologist at the bar holds it down for the parents and date-nighters. He has a magic touch, I think it's the beard. The Black Sheep lives up to the hype and is still worth its weight in steak tartare.
Tried a number of things and found heat overpowered all flavors. The ribeye was a standout item. Nmeratuanrant was not that busy in early evening yet the noise level was deafening. Amserver did an awesomw job but that could not overcome the excessive use of chili oil that wiped out the octopus. Then went to salmon skin tacos and jualst opposite they had zero flavor.
Food was delicious and the price was amazing for the quality.
Best meal in Vegas. Period
My son was in town so we had dinner here. It was wonderful. The lamb belly was absolutely delicious. So tender and flavorful. I really love this restaurant. I have been a few times and it’s been excellent every time.
Delicious, innovative, brilliant!!! The salmon skin tacos are ridiculous, a must order:p! Plenty of amazing options on the menu. We shall return soon!
Food was delicious...service was great...food was unique an drinks were excellent...we will review
So I really had great hopes about this restaurant but it we where really disappointed...first I mentioned it's my wife's birthday to the server (also at open table ) they did nothing about it but I thought ok let's try the food (i have to explain i am a trained executive chef from Europe) we had the octopus and the bass so the octopus was way to spicey I you could not even taste anything only heat...the bass was overcooked and didn't had any flavor then I tried the ripeye beef no flavor there to ...so for me I would never serve this to my customers...no thx we don't come back there are way better restaurants out here in Vegas but the service was good...
Overall, dinner at the Black Sheep was awesome! The cocktails were made well and perfect for summer, quite refreshing. Our server, John, suggested salmon skin tacos for starters, and they were yummy, a great contrast between crispy skin and rich salmon belly.
For entrees, my sisters and I had the Duck Confit, Striped Bass, and Short Rib, all delicious. The short rib came on a bed of horseradish risotto, with beets, wilted kale and other veggies. I'm not a big fan of kale or horseradish, but both worked in this dish, and complemented the short rib very well.
The duck was tender, with crispy skin, served over curried couscous - so good! The striped bass was prepared perfectly, and the hen-in-the-wood mushrooms elevated the dish to another level of deliciousness.
This restaurant is outside the Vegas strip but well worth the side trip.
The menu is small but changes seasonally. The eclectic food and the cocktails are always spot-on and its always exciting to what new creations the chef has come up with. This is a fairly small restaurant so reservations are recommended.
Wow!! Just wow. What a special evening at a special restaurant. We were greeted by the chef at the door and she was so warm and inviting that you could just tell that she loves what she does. Zero hint that she’s actually a classically trained chef who had been trained by Michelin star rated chefs around the world....until the food came out. Double wow. Everything tasted absolutely perfect and was beautifully presented. The food, the craft cocktails and the service were all top notch. Screw the strip. Come here and enjoy.
All was wonderful. I would suggest that they consider changing their music selections as appropriate fir dining.
Absolutely will return
Excellent grilled peach salad. The flavors of the lamb belly and the short ribs was superb!
The menu is unique and everything tasted fantastic!! Our waiter was terrific. The drink selection is very good. We will go back again. We loved it
Fabulous food, ambience and service. I’ll be back.
Food was excellent.
Went with a group of foodies - we almost ordered one of everything. Every dish was delicious, fresh and interesting. My favorites are the salmon skin tacos, crispy trout, peach salad. Highly recommend The Black Sheep
Absolutely FANTASTIC!! The food is amazing! Joel was my server and he was so helpful and attentive. This was a great dining experience all around!!
We have been to the Black Sheep many times and always had a great experience. However, we did not have a good experience today at brunch. When we walked in at 1:25 for a 1:30 reservation, we were asked by an annoyed waiter if the rest of our party was coming soon because the kitchen closes at 2:00 - not very welcoming. At that moment I wondered why a 1:30 reservation was even available and accepted if they were in such a hurry to close the place. The food service was mediocre and transactional. We ordered the plate of pastries which were stale and hard. Our entrees were not up to par with the food on previous visits. The music was loud rap music which wouldn’t be my choice for Sunday brunch ambience. The employees all seemed in a hurry for us to leave although they were attentive when their friends showed up at the bar after 2:00. I’m undecided as to whether we will ever go back.
Very good. Awesome experience
Great attention to gluten free dietary needs. Was restaurant week and offered a fun and varied menu with paired wines. Good value and great taste. Always a good mean here.
Started with the Vietnamese Imperial Rolls which were delicious! Then the short rib which was also very good. Good service. Restaurant is fairly small with close tables and is a noisier than average restaurant.
Holy Heck! This place was outstanding. Can't wait to come back. Thank you!
