Overall this was a very good experience. Some hits and misses on the menu - the baked Brie starter was basically tasteless but the ceviche was excellent. The Caesar salad was wonderful. Escargot was very disappointing but the truffle risotto is incredible - and is available as an entree and well worth considering. The duck entree was extremely disappointing but the filet mignon was very good. Highlight was the apple tarte for dessert - an absolute “do not miss”. Service was good. Be prepared for a very pricey wine list - but if you look closely you will find a couple of reasonably priced options that are very good. Service was terrific if perhaps a little forced. Ambiance is very soft lighting, sultry and really wonderful. For a special occasion or romantic dinner this is highly recommended.

Overwhelmingly PRETENTIOUS and overpriced. Lacked quality control and attentive service. This was an anniversary dinner that we hoped to be a little impressive. With only 11 tables we expected an intimate atmosphere, but with tables so close together you could hear everyone else's conversations. We wanted to buy a bottle of wine, but the wine list was more than 10 pages long and ridiculously priced at $100+. The sommelier didn't bother to come to our table til later in the evening, so we opted for a $10 glass of Pinot Grigio to start. Items on the limited menu are supposedly all made in house and with great detail and attention. The focaccia bread was good with only about 4 bites per person. We shared Lobster Risotto as an appetizer, which was enjoyable, but no better than many other places. The house salad was basic but had a really nice dressing. We asked for an Italian wine by the glass, so the sommelier finally paid us a visit. After learning it was only available by the bottle, we asked for the price, he didn't know and went to check. When he returned, he kept "him hawing" and never gave us the bottle price. So, I stuck with my $10 glass of Pinot. My husband ordered medium rare filet mignon, after being told they had the very BEST steaks. Although it was very tender, it had no seasoning and arrived medium on one end and well done on the other. He left the $55 obviously well-done end on the plate and the waiter never bothered to ask why. I ordered Pappardelle Bolognese that came with 4 tasteless, chewy noodles (a far cry from al dente) and an abundance of super thick sauce that needed seasoning, until I got a chunk of meat that was so salty I could barely swallow it. It came with asparagus that had zero seasoning. I left most of it on my plate, and again, the waiter didn't bother to ask if anything was wrong, even after I refused a to-go box! Sadly, $250 later, we were not impressed and would have a very hard time recommending it to anyone.

Outstanding! I didn’t expect the level of service to be this high. True symphony of flavors and lovely ambience, with a quiet atmosphere. So glad I randomly picked this place for my solo dinner. Highly recommend!

Service was impeccable and the food divine. This was our first visit to the Clearwater area and The Black Pearl and by far became our most loved dining experience. We felt neither rushed nor ignored. They perfectly matched our meal and wine. The portions were perfect and the overall experience heavenly.

We ate at Black Pearl for our 20th wedding anniversary dinner on July 3rd. From start to finish, it was delicious!! We had the pork belly appetizer and nearly licked the plate. It was impeccable! I ordered the filet mignon while my husband ordered the grouper. Both were cooked to perfection. We will be back!

Thought the pricing was exorbitant. The service was good and the food was like any up market restaurant. The ambience was good and the place was quiet. Made for good conversation.
