   7 of us for my birthday meal, fabulous food! As regular local visitors to the black Horse, the food & service never fails to make us feel like we have been looked after. Winter comfort food is always great & portion sizes just right.

   I organised a get together with friends from my running club who hadn't been to the black horse before. Thankfully the service redeemed itself from my last visit and we all had a lovely meal. 3 of us ordered the duck from the specials board which was cooked to perfection,only niggle was that there could have been slightly more jus on the small duck suet pudding because it tasted quite dry. They only had good things to say and I've recommended that they bring their own families to try out the Sunday lunch. Attentive staff and we didn't have to wait too long even though it was fairly busy for a Tuesday evening.

   We usually love coming to The Black Horse,myself and my brother come here regularly which is why we chose it for my Fathers birthday meal. Sadly service was not up to scratch. We often attend on a Sunday when it is extremely busy and the staff have always been attentive so I can't even blame it on a high number of covers. We had to ask for vegetables twice,my grandmother had already eaten half of her roast dinner before they came. I only had two potatoes whilst the rest of the group had 3. The portions sizes are usually very generous for a Sunday roast. We ordered two kids meals for my nephews but they were so over cooked they refused to eat them. Thankfully a member of staff did take them off the final bill. We ordered the crumble for dessert which we were told takes 15 minutes to cook,we were fine with this. I had to ask after 40 minutes where they were. Felt like we had been forgotten and had to keep flagging down staff. As I say this is not usually the service you get at The Black Horse so hoping it was just an off day. Over all food we had was nice but there was a lot of waiting around,which with two hungry 4 year olds to keep entertained didn't make it easy.

   Despite getting our date wrong we were warmly welcomed and given a table straight away. Food and service was excellent and great value for money.

   Visited with my family for an anniversary celebration. Food was delicious and staff were friendly and attentive. Great restaurant.

   I moved away from the area 30 years ago but used to drink in the Black Horse in my younger days. Lovely pub with a nice restaurant, good food and good service. Everybody enjoyed it.

   Always have a lovely meal when we visit the Black Horse. I prefer their Sunday lunch menu as they do a fab roast but we came for lunch on a Wednesday with my boyfriends mother. We all enjoyed what we had and atmosphere was nice.

   We have already filled in a survey form on the day of our visit. We went to meet up with some friends for a nice meal and chat, both of which we achieved. The meals we had were excellent and very tasty. We found the restaurant very relaxed and the staff friendly. We have already been before so it again lived up to our expectations, and we have already recommended this restaurant in the past.

    We were taking Turkish friends out for an English meal in typical English pub. They were so impressed with this old English building something they would never see at home. The meal was equally as impressive a great choice with lots of specials. All enjoyed ourselves and will return.
