The most incredible food!! Small plates & tapas style dishes. A definite must try are the mushroom spring rolls- so tasty & comforting. The crab arancini was also another favourite. They recommend 3 dishes each & we left feeling satisfied. The staff were really helpful & lovely & the place has a great atmosphere. If visiting Edinburgh or live here it’s a definite must try!

We had a lovely lunch for my daughter’s graduation. The restaurant has a great ambience with minimalist/scandi style decor. The food was delicious and the cocktails were given top marks. We shared plates with roughly 5 between 2 people, which was more than enough. The outstanding dishes for us were the oysters, hummus, chicken Kyiv, crab arancini, dry aged rump and hasselback potatoes. Service was efficient and friendly without being intrusive.

This was our second visit to the black grape and it was just as lovely as the first time. The food was amazing, hard to pick a favourite but the steak tartare is probably it, if only because my husband didn’t think he’d enjoy it and he loved it. We were delighted to be served by the same lady as last time, she even remembered us! She is lovely - so friendly and helpful.

Every dish was incredibly tasty - the whipped feta was especially good, and the service was excellent. A really nice, relaxing space too - first time to visit, will definitely be back!

First time at The Black Grape on a short break in Edinburgh. We were early diners so it was very quiet. It was bright with a great musical soundtrack in the background. We had focaccia, tempura aubergine,crab arancini, blue cheese croquettes and hasselback potatoes to share. Plus The Falcon sauvigon blanc. Neil was very welcoming and provided helpful information about the small plates on the menu. Well worth a visit - highly recommended.

The best meal out in Edinburgh! Cannot fault this place everything was so good - food, service and the restaurant itself were all outstanding. Really lovely choice of dishes and we felt very looked after by the team. Cannot wait to come back here.

Wonderful food with lovely staff. We had a great time last night at The Black Grape, the small plate menu is just right with a good mixture of dishes to cater for all of our party. The venison was the stand out dish for me as well as the Aubergine Tempura. You won't be disappointed with The Black Grape. Great wine list too. Will definitely return!

Nice warm welcome from owner, good drinks, nice wine. food was very good. Starter type plates good size for sharing. main steak tasted amazing - probably should have ordered another one as it wasn't the biggest portion, but we felt full by the end of the evening. Will definitely return.

The Black Grape was very good! We enjoyed all the dishes very much except the steak which we liked the flavor of, but the meat texture was a bit too chewy and hard to cut. But everything else was amazing! A bit loud and hard to hear once it’s packed. Service was good. We’d absolutely come back!

We were in Edinburgh for a girls’ weekend and had the most amazing meal here. Very tasty plates- highly recommend the mushroom spring rolls and chicken croquettes. Really great service too. Due to absolutely no fault of the restaurant, I had to sadly cut short my meal early as I became unwell (looks like I’m allergic to hazelnuts- a recent discovery). They took the trouble to phone me to check I was ok the next day. Really touched by this. If I’m ever back in Edinburgh, will definitely look it up again. Thank you.

Absolutely loved our meal at The Black Grape. Each dish was delicious and I was surprised that despite being a meat and seafood lover, my favourite was the tempura aubergine with baba ganoush. Murray was very attentive and we enjoyed chatting to him about the restaurant and the food. We loved it so much that we immediately booked again for when the menu changes. Highly recommend

So happy to have found this place! Great menu with lots of options. Portion sizes were large for tapas making it great value for money. Wait staff were attentive and were very good at explaining the dishes as they were brought to the table. Great to see some Australian wine on the menu! Highly recommend.
