Open since July 4th, 2002, Black Cat Bistro is known for serving Innovative Farm Fresh Fare. The menu changes often as Black Cat Bistro consistently strives to present fare that is reflective of seasonal, local produce and organically raised or sustainable product.The food is especially cognizant of wine pairings to electrify the palate. The Black Cat has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for nine years in a row.

Black Cat Bistro is small with 45 seats and this is part of what makes it such an intimate dining experience. The service is attentive, unpretentious and refined. The dining rooms are decorated in soothing colors and fabrics. Down pillowed benches frame the edges of two of the three rooms. Candle light adorns the tables covered with white linen. Food is served on white china and wine in crystal Riedel stemware.

We have visited Cambria many times over the years but never this restaurant as we thought it was light meals, not a full dinner. What a surprise. Excellent menu choices, food well prepared, service was outstanding, atmosphere was quiet with low music in the background. Will definitely go back.

My husband's entree was burned. My entree was fair, duck was too fatty, bok choy needed more flavor. Risotto was not real tasty and resembled kashi, not risotto with arborio rice. When my husband returned his dish, the chef did not address the problem with him; no one apologized. They did discount the entree to half-price.

This is a gorgeous spot, and we were lucky, as lovebirds, to get a cozy room to ourselves. The servers were very attentive. Every item we initially ordered, however, was not good. The fried olives appetizer was entirely too salty. My first entree I had to send back. My date's lamp shank was overcooked. I will say that the replacement, scallops with corn pudding, was very good. But it included a chimichurri type sauce that was completely out of place and would have ruined the flavor, if I'd used it. The pear crumble dessert was pretty tasty, but the pear slices were entirely too big for the dish. There's a lot of potential here, and it was a very cute restaurant, so I hope some improvements are on the horizon.

Everything our party of four ordered was outstanding. I am still thinking about the perfectly cooked sea scallops! Our server was charming, knowledgeable and efficient and the meal was served promptly and everything was hot. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Three orders ofRack of Lamb ordered - Medium rare, medium, medium well...Plates were served to wrong guests, chops were tough, very disappointing. Were told knives were steak knives - still difficult too cut.

Starter of caesar salad- leaves were tough to cut - would have prefered chopped.

Small and quaint with very good menu variety - recommend the fried green olives stater. Nice wine list, flavorful and complimenting sauce and garnish. Very pleasant and helpful wait staff. A new Cambria destination.

We had been to the Black Cat before and stopped going because of the noise level. However, the food was always good, so we decided to try it again. We were lucky because it was not busy so it was quiet. The service was excellent, with every dish explained. I had the seabass special and my husbands had the shrimp. The seabass was excellent. The shrimp dish was good, but would have preferred it not be in a small bowl with sauce but more integrated with the dish overall. We would go back again on a quiet weekday night.

Good food, good service and good wine. Scallops were delicious. The Arugula salad was so tasty we took home their recipe for red beets dressing. Have tried the beets dressing at home and it is a hit with friends and family.

Food was beautifully presented and prepared. Clam chowder very nice. The scallops on creamy corn mash was a delicious entree. Wine selections are very good. Would eat here again for sure.

Great atmosphere -- celebrated a wedding anniversary here -- perfect for this. The service was good, however didn't quite match the ambience. The very nice food server could have been more polished given the menu, prices and dining room vibe. Hard to describe without sounding too critical -- but more of a diner service experience vs. a high end experience. Chowder and fruit dinner salad was 5 star -- my salmon dinner however was a bit dry and uninspiring. We may go back to see if a better menu selection would change the overall score of 4 out of 5.

Outstanding duck breast in a delish sauce. We were seated in the outer part of restaurant closer to the door so really couldn’t tell about the ambiance as it was evening & low lights. But everything was wonderful. Highly recommend for dinner.

We ordered the Mahi Mahi special, Sea Scallops, and a bowl of tomato basil soup. All of our food was great. Our only complaint is a serious error on the menu. They had a dish clearly marked as Gluten Free, however it was not. Thankfully my wife noticed and our waiter confirmed the error. They should have reprinted the menus as someone else may not have noticed and become ill from Gluten. Our waiter was definitely knowledgeable about Gluten and what was in each dish. We would eat here again.

The chicken piccata was outstanding. Ambiance was fantastic and music was delightful. I recommend going early; you practically have the place to yourselves , before it starts getting busy.

How have we missed this place over the years. Cute little house turned restaurant with the fee of being in any on of the old rooms. Nice wine list with very fair pricing. Wait staff attentive and knowledgeable. Their scallops were very good -

First visit. Interesting flavors that for the most part work but I ordered lamb chops medium and got them well done. Sent it back and came back good but not alot of flavor. The "award winning" claim chowder had one piece of clam and one piece of celery and one piece of potato. Very rich and creamy but not what I would consider filling up on so dont order alone. The ceasar salad was bland at best. The duck was wonderful and the service was great. Wont be back. Too many good choices in cambria

Our second visit to this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. Funky building in an unlikely location but could stand up to most any restaurant in a major city. Menu not large but interesting and varied choices. Nice wine list. The server went an extra mile to help me with a wine by the glass that was not on the list.
Best in Cambria!

Exceeded our expectations - excellent service. Quality of food and food presentation was wonderful; our waiter recommended the scallops and was absolutely right! Will definitely return on our next visit to Cambria.

The only negative thing I can say is the salmon entree had too much salt. I never understand how this happens in a restaurant. We can always add more salt, but once it’s in there, it’s too late. So doesn’t someone in the kitchen keep tabs on this?

Other than that, dinner was great, as was the service.
