The Bistro on 2nd
The contemporary cuisine is sophisticated home cooking that stops short of fancy. More sophisticated than an American café, the casual and upbeat atmosphere is perfect for that business lunch, lunch with the ladies, or just a cozy dinner with friends.
The service, while professional, is more friendly and fun than formal. It’s casual, fine dining with no pretension. Everyone makes you feel welcome, like part of the family. Genuine hospitality and service with a personal touch, topped off with a sense of humor, is what differentiates The Bistro on 2nd from others and what defines a dining experience!
More simply, The Bistro on 2nd is Fresh. Seasonal. Local. Fun. It's Good Food, Good Wine, Good Friends & Good Times!

My wife and I planned on dining at this restaurant for the first time on our 35 wedding anniversary. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed to dine in traffic the day before due to Covid 19. We ordered take out and were totally impressed with the quality of the food. We look forward to dining there in the future. Definitely try to support this establishment by doing take out there during the Covid Pandemic.
Excellent dining experience. Delicious food, delightful staff who have a way of knowing what their customers want, warm & inviting ambiance. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
We love the Bistro, it’s one of our favorite spots!!
We went to The Bistro on 2nd for a romantic birthday celebration. It was absolutely wonderful! Robby took great care of us. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was amazing as always! We look forward to dining there again in the near future!
We've eaten there for years. We continue to enjoy the reliable fine food, service and atmosphere. We've also hosted a celebratory dinner for a group upstairs, and it worked very well.
Excellent date night dinner with every detail in place! From the table, waitress and food, we were 100% satisfied!
Seafood was superb! Crabcakes, scallops, lobster ravioli. Wow! Service was excellent!
Four of us met for dinner to celebrate a couple birthdays. We chose Monument as a halfway point between our two homes. We are very glad to have made that decision! It was a lovely dinner. Service was top notch as was the food. We are looking forward to coming back when it’s patio weather to enjoy the outside area.
Out of food
No wine special out of wine
Hair in food
We just recently found this place and have been back twice in a month. Really good food and attentive but not intrusive service. We can't say enough good stuff about this place! We can't wait to go back in the summer to enjoy their patio.
The food quality has degraded over time, Salmon too salty, had to return, hamburger raw, had to return. Expensive too.
Very nice place with fantastic food, but the patrons and waiter were so incredibly loud that it ruined the whole evening. We couldn’t even hear each other across the table.
We have been here for dinner and lunch several times and it has been great, but this visit was disappointing. From the table we were seated to the meal. It was not a memorable experience.
Kevin our waiter was so great, the best part of our experience. The crab cake appetizer was excellent,
Best crab cakes I’ve had in Colorado!!!
The entrees were mediocre. My scallops were good but not outstanding. The polenta cakes were tasteless. $34 quite a lot for 4 scallops.
My husband had a ribeye that was good but also of fat and gristle. Desserts were good but pretty sure I’ve had the same dessert at Olive Garden.
An ok but disappointing experience
We LOVE going to The Bistro on 2nd for our date nights!!! The wait staff (Robbie and Jeff), are amazing and wonderfully kind people. The food is absolutely to die for!! (My hubby is a steak snob, and said that the steak is one of The Best steaks that he has ever had!!)
Thank you Bistro for continuing to provide amazing service and amazing food!!!
We chose the Bistro on 2nd because I'd been there before and it was pretty good. This was a Saturday night and they were busy, but the online app reservation was really easy to use and we were seated within a couple minutes. Ambiance would have received a higher rating except the six top next to us was very loud for the small room; noise level improved a lot when they left. Butternut squash soup was excellent. My scallops were very good and tender, although a bit salty and pricey. Husband's macaroni and chicken was good, but for the price he was disappointed as it was something he could have cooked at home and was definitely not filling. The drinks (a mule and a berry smash) were very good, potent, but not overwhelming. The dessert was a trio of homemade truffles which were incredible, but the white chocolate one was a bit too sweet - still worth it tho'. Convenience - staying in Monument, price should have been at the Broadmoor. I'm still glad this house is being utilized as a quaint restaurant with great, not overdone décor. It's a workout for the staff with both floors being utilized, but a great location.
Excellent Braised beef ribs.
Food was really good. I had the stuffed salmon and others had steak and chicken Marsala. Cocktails and desserts were also good. Love the gluten free options!!! I put noise higher because upstairs is small quarters and we could hear all of neighbors conversation, but they were also loud talkers. The best part was our waiter, Jeff! He was fantastic, very attentive, and funny. I’d definitely recommend this place to friends.
Wonderful food, atmosphere, and service! Highly recommended!!!!!
Very nice place with good service and good food. The ambience is great; private and quiet.
One of the hidden gems in Monument. From the minute you walk in,until you leave, you’re treated very special. Food selections are super, portions are generous, wine is great, service is impeccable. Once you dine there you’ll understand why they win awards.
Excellent as always. Friendly staff, excellent quality food.
Outstanding is every way...so glad to have such a wonderful upscale restaurant in Monument!
Second when visited this restaurant. Very friendly and accommodating. Food was great!
Absolutely Amazing! Impeccable service, intimate yet upbeat contemporary dining and best of all... the perfectly prepared and presented food! Robbie is the best! Thank you for a spectacular evening!
We just recently found The Bistro on 2nd and this was our first time dining during the Christmas holiday. Unfortunately, the prime rib was thin and over cooked and while we understand that the menu was limited due to the holiday, we were not expecting it. Our fault for not noticing and looking specifically at the website to better understand.
We will for sure come back and look forward to eating in the patio area over the summer.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback!

Just a great experience with outstanding food, drink and service.
8 of us had dinner there a few nights ago - it was wonderful.
Kevin is an outstanding waiter - friendly, efficient, always smiling, good memory, swift, and overall just one of the best waiters we've all had in a long time. He makes us always feel so very welcome - great experience.
Only downside to the whole place - the small stairs to go up to the dining room for larger parties. Otherwise, it would be perfect!
Great place for a romantic dinner with quality food and great service. I look forward to being there again soon!
Delicious food, delightful service, memorable evening!
We love the Bistro on 2nd. It is our first pick for special occasions! The service is amazing and the food is delicious!
My friends and I always enjoy our time at your restaurant.
Robbie and his crew are professional in every way. Thoughtful and on top of their game. Food is a TEN. WE SHALL RETURN.
The best dining option in Monument. It’s a bit pricey for the food, which was good but not great. Service was excellent and the restaurant setting is charming.
Went on Thanksgiving for their smoked prime rib dinner. Amazing!
The smoked apple pie Manhattan is worth trying.
Our server,Jeff, was wonderful.
Very disappointing Thanksgiving meal. Only two choices - turkey or smoked prime rib. Smoked prime rib tasted excellent, but a tiny serving for $40, probably 6 ounces. Turkey was a little dry and also smallish serving - $40 also. Sides were terrible. Stuffing served with turkey tasted like it was out of a box - like dry, cold, unseasoned bread cubes. Blah green beans. Mashed potatoes were gloppy and flavorless - like a hockey puck - can get better at the grocery store out of a tub. Service was good, but could not make up for the kitchen. Only redeeming quality of the whole meal was the flavor of the prime rib, and our server told us it was brought in from off site. Overall awful for what we paid. We learned our lesson, will cook at home from now on.
Great neighborhood restaurant!! The martini's were excellent and the food beautifully prepared!
Great find in Monument - beautiful quaint old house converted to a restaurant - warm and inviting, great food and atmosphere. Hope to return in the near future.
This was our first time at The Bistro and now our favorite "go-to" for a nice, romantic dinner!!
Thank you for a wonderful evening!
