Had a great day at the Winery.
The food was excellent and the server was great.
Can not wait to come back.
Thank you for your hospitality!
Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Service was excellent.
My husband and I celebrated his 76th birthday at the Bistro. As always, the food was delicious. I had Austin's turkey sandwich and he had the filet. Both were cooked/fixed to perfection. We were placed at a table by the window overlooking the water and I was quite pleased. This was my request when I made the reservation. The waitress was was attentive, pleasant, mannerly and always kept our drinks filled. All in all, we had a wonderful time and we're already looking forward to another outing at the Bistro.
This is the second time my husband and I have been for Sunday lunch. The food was wonderful! My husband ordered the scallops, which was absolutely divine. I ordered the Cuban sandwich special with tomato soup. It was also wonderful. The staff was friendly and our waiter was great. We had reservations but were able to be seated 20 minutes early. Could not have had a better experience.
Very good experience, great views of the vineyards and the food was very good. It was a bit loud in the bistro so if you want something quiet you may want to request a particular table. They are very accommodating.
Enjoyed yet another trip to Childress. Surprised they had discontinued the "Trifecta" from the menu but the choices were still good. Beautiful venue and great service.
My husband and I had lunch there on Thursday (May 31st) to celebrate my 75th birthday. The food was delicious, the table perfect and our waiter was the best!! It was a perfect birthday experience.
Great food, service and awesome view, all at a decent price. One of our favorite lunch spots. Excellent variety of wines in a cozy restaurant. Always need to make reservations a day in advance!
As always we had a very good meal. We ordered the croissant chicken sandwich and the Austin Italian also the lavender lemon crepe brûlée
Made reservation. When we got there at 12:30, we were told that the only table
available was right at the door. I ordered the Ty's burger without the bun. Absolutely the worst burger I have ever been served. I ate about three bites. The tomato, onion and lettuce were horrible.
I will add, however, that my husband did enjoy his steak. I did talk with other customers who said that the food does need improving.
I absolutely love Childress and the bistro just makes it even better! The food is delicious! My favorite is the spinach dip, it is to die for!! We are having our wedding her next May and I am finding every opportunity to visit!
Enjoyed the wind tasting. Ended up buying six bottles to take home after lunch. Burger was great, lemon lavender creme brulle was excellent
Horrible experience. Service was awful. We planned a special trip to celebrate my mother and my birthdays and it was awful. The server never put our order in and served every table around us without checking back on us. We were completely forgotten about and the manager didn’t seem to care at all. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Worst experience and no empathy from the staff.
This was our third trip to Childress Bistro. It has always been very enjoyable. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!
Sunday lunch menu was limited, but the food was good and the wine options were great! The Bistro has an amazing view of the Vineyard!
Wishful Thinking was so awesome!!! Loved Loved the band!!!!! Our server Jasmine was so awesome. Food was great we (group of 6) had the best time ever!!!
This is my 3rd time organizing an event at The Bistro at Childress Vineyards for a Ladies Day Out. In the past, everything has been on point and wonderful.
This time, however, our service was horrible. I'm not sure if the waitress was just having a bad day or what, but she had a frown from beginning to end and was extremely unfriendly.
The ladies in my party that were drinking wine/alcoholic drinks were not offered seconds. Anytime we needed something we could not find our waitress. When she did finally appear, one lady would ask for something and she was gone while another was in mid sentence trying to get a refill or whatever she needed. This happened every single time. We were served a cheese board with no idea what was on it and no utensils for it, other than a butcher knife. We were also not offered any dessert. We had to get another waitress 3 times in order to get things we needed. On the 3rd time, that waitress had gotten the manager. The waitress that helped us was extremely busy herself, but still took the time to help us out and was friendly.
The manager did offer to help us on our bill, but we had already paid. A couple ladies did take a bottle of wine home with them that the manager offered. After 2 hours, we were just ready to leave. It was honestly the worst service I have ever experienced anywhere.
The food, however, was delicious!
Great food, great for brunch, awesome wine, we stop here every time traveling through North Carolina
It’s a great place to come and take friends , but food little pricey for the quality. Strive for excellence not mediocre
We had such a good time, our table was window perfect. The wine was very good, the food exceptional. We’ll come again.
Blackened salmon is great.
Food was fabulous as always. Brandi, our server, was great! The wait for food (almost an hour) was not good. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen, as we never received an explanation, however, was the food arrived it was delicious.
We went for lunch and were quite surprised at how absolutely beautiful it was. The food was delicious too. It far exceeded our expectations and we will be coming back often.
I took my mother there as part of her 90th birthday celebration. We really had wonderful time there!
Beautiful Experince. Good food, good value. Work on a gluten free menu with good options.
Mother’s Day celebration
It was a lovely experience. Enjoyed spending time with the family. Plan to go back for tour and wine tasting.
It was a complete let down. Had been before for Fathers Day and was so excited about Mothers Day brunch. It was like being at a hotel meeting room. The staff was hard to find and it took forever to just get a drink. There are beautiful rooms and we were put into a windowless meeting room that did not suit the elegant mothers day brunch they promised. Total let down dont think I will attend Fathers Day brunch this year as they are saying it will be indoors.
We unfortunately had reservations at 2:30. They close at 3. Our waitress was too busy doing side work to get out than to wait on us. Several times we had to ask someone to find her. Everything else was great!!! Love this winery !!
Celebrated fifth year Anniversary
This was my first time at The Bistro and I will definitely be going back. The food was delicious and the service could not have been better. Everyone was friendly and very welcoming. And such a beautiful setting.
As always a great dining and tasting experience. Have never been disappointed. Glad to see a special flight luncheon for Cinco de Mayo which was excellent!! Compliments to the chef.
We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Our food was delicious and our waitness was wonderful!
The Bistro has always been one of our favorite restaurants. We try to dine there at least once a month if not more.
Excellent......becoming a regular. Will spend all my special occasions here for sure.
We were celebrating my birthday as well as a bon voyage for a dear family friend who is in the army about to leave for South Korea. Paula our server was fantastic!! Wine pairing with the special burger was excellent. Food was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!
Worst experience ever! We made a "special" trip from Raleigh to Jamestown...picked up my Dad & Stepmother, then drove to Lexington to treat them to a special day of wine tasting and lunch at Childress. We did not get the window seat we requested 1+week in advance when making the reservations but that's ok...disappointing but ok. We ordered 2 Reubens, and 1 Strawberry entee Salad. After about 30-35 minutes we asked our waiter to please check on the order..he just smiled, said ok, walked away straight to the soda machines and started making drinks. He did not head to the kitchen nor did he return to give us an update. Personally, I think he forgot to put in our order or something was TERRIBLY wrong in that kitchen. Our food finally arrived after waiting 55 minutes...we could have driven back to Jamestown, made the sandwiches and driven back to Childress in that length of time. Not sure we would return...too bad. Beautiful place!
