The Bistro at Childress Vineyards
Our menu changes seasonally and can be viewed online at www.childressvineyards.com.
Had a party of 9 for a birthday, our server Taylor was great and very friendly. Everything was very delicious! Enjoyed the whole experience. I highly recommend!!
Food & service always great! Have lunch there. For every Charlotte NASCAR weekend. Always top notch, feel like royalty just walking in. Staff ALWAYS courteous & helpful. Would recommend the bistro to anyone. Do a tasting and then lunch.
Always a pleasure.
A great meal and wonderful service.
We loved the setting, food, and service. The dining room was very noisy, not energetic.
One of our favorite spots in Central North Carolina. It is often a wonderful halfway meeting spot. We live in Charlotte and our friends live in Greensboro, so the Bistro is a good meeting spot. Food there is always good with a few choice specials. Service is caring, attentive, but not hovering. Recently, our waiter was Blake and he was superb.
Chris was a great waiter and took excellent care of us.
The service was outstanding.
We had a VERY leisurely lunch but were not rushed by wait staff. Lovely afternoon there!
Wonderful as usual
Great place great food and service
But need to work on the air condition
Beautiful view while enjoying a very tasty lunch, and the service was top notch!
We were there for a special occasion. I mentioned this on the reservation and when they called to confirm the day before. The lady on the phone assured me she would let the waiter know. He had no clue and there was no effort to acknowledge it. Also, when we ordered a bottle of wine, they poured twi whole glasses without letting us taste, smell, etc. I expected more at a vineyard.
This is one of our favorite local restaurants. The vineyard is lovely, and the restaurant has a lot of glass so that you can enjoy the views. The food is always good, and it's fun to try the different wines. The wait staff is especially friendly and helpful.
Great food, great wine. Service was really good.
We had reservations for 11:30 am on Sunday, August 26. We were seated accordingly at the right time.
We placed our order and waited until 12:15 before our lunch was served. A manager came by to apologize for the wait and that they were quite busy. (We noted that people after our order were already being served.)
After our lunch finally arrived, there were two wrong orders.
They promptly made the correction and we were offered a bottle of wine at no charge.
I would return, in hopes this was just a one time issue.
My review would have been 5 stars for service but the server completely messed up our checks. He put items on the wrong checks, mixed up our credit cards.
My second time there and my husband's first time. We stopped on our way to the start on our mountain vacation. Our lunch was great and our waitress, Taylor, was awesome. After lunch we visited the gift shop and picked up a bottle if wine. Thanks for a great lunch.
I love Childress Vineyards so much!! I come every year for my birthday and look forward to it! The service is amazing and the property is absolutely beautiful. I would definitely get married at this location too, so scenic! I asked for a made to order dish since I no longer consume meat or dairy and they didn’t give me any trouble. I got grilled veggies on top of orzo and it was delicious!
Our service was very nice... was just a little disappointed with the menu. It used to be a bit more extensive and there was no trifecta option. Other than that everything was lovely
Food was delicious and waitress Mrs Paula was awesome and had a great personality. We will definitely be back.
Never a let down, always a pleasure. Friendly service, excellent food, beautiful views..
After reading many of the positive reviews, I was looking forward to eating at this restaurant.
The ambulance is nothing to write home about. Although we did have a table by the window, half of our group of 4 looked at the beautiful grounds while the other half had a view of the loading dock.
The food was just so so. I had the chicken salad . although presented very nicely, the taste was very bland. The tomato soup looked and tasted like pizza sauce. All in all, everything was just average.
Friends visiting from Chicago absolutely love the Bistro as they were looking for an authentic Vineyard experience. We enjoy bringing her out of town guests there.
We have been here many times both with friends and with my wife and always have enjoyed our meal. Great ambiance and helpful staff.
Great environment! Friendly staff and very welcoming!
Love the beautiful grounds, gift shop, new pavilion. But the Bistro has been hot, stuffy and bathroom smelly the last two times we dined there. Both times were for Sunday lunch. Both times there was either no air conditioning or whatever ac they had going was clearly insufficient for the space which is wall to wall windows. It would have been much more tolerable if, even if it was summer, they opened the large windows for some circulation. The Bistro manager was lovely and had the same birthday as I 😊
Visited for the first time to celebrate my mother's 65th birthday and had a wonderful time/experience. The only reason I gave 4 Stars instead of 5 was due to the wait time between ordering our food and receiving it. Our meals were delicious, good portions, and friendly/helpful waitstaff. General ambience/ascetics were comforting, sophisticated and peaceful with views of the surrounding grounds. The dining room was a bit warm (seemingly because of the windows framing the dining room). All-in-all it was a pleasant dining experience and we will definitely be dining there again.
Only negative was that service as slow and had to ask more than once for some items. The kitchen and bar could have been some of the problem. Lunch was busy but not packed.
I made a reservation, but had to wait quite awhile
Good variety of salads and sandwiches. Margarita cheesecake dessert was excellent!
Love the new menu
I miss some of the menu items, especially the Trifecta. That’s was a nice treat. Entrees are too pricey. Love the wine but need better food pairings.
Service very slow. It took an hour to get food. Waitress only came by twice to check on us. Group of 12 were partying- very loud. We could not hold a conversation without yelling. Food and wine were good. Went to Pavilion to listen to music. No tables or chairs to sit in. Bartender was no help. We left after 15 minutes. Plenty of room for 15 more tables. Or just chairs. ☹️
Wonderful experience each time I visit with friends.
I documented food allergies in our reservation but the server and chef were unprepared. If you have food allergies, make sure you call the restaurant in advance.
This would not be a good place for those who are hard of hearing but the vineyards as a whole are beautiful.
We were seated very promptly upon arrival. The venue was beautiful. The service was great. The food was outstanding. It was quite warm the further back into the space you were but otherwise a wonderful experience.
Had such a great time at the bistro!! So accommodating and excellent service!
Everything was very good but the noise is a bit of a problem. Could insulation make it quieter?
My boyfriend and i celebrated our 8 year anniversary. We really enjoyed ourselves!
