Noise level gets very high, but the service and food are very good. The reservation system needs to be improved. When told no tables sre avsilsble, you get there and find many tables not occupied.
We joined some friends for an after-Christmas lunch (too much going on before the holidays!) and enjoyed a delicious lunch and 2 hours of conversation. Always a pleasure to dine at the Childress Bistro.
Very cozy and perfect for friends to catch up
We went for my best friends birthday and it was delicious and great wine!
Loved the food and of course the drinks!!
We would drive an hour & a half again to lunch there! Excellent food, great staff & met Mr. Childress who was so kind & personable. What a delightful day!!!!
The only negative thing I can say is that they ran out of salmon and tuna. One of our four group ordered the salad with salmon and was told they have run out, she then asked for the tuna and was told the same thing. She then asked for the filet meal instead which she was very happy with and said that should have been her first choice. Overall a fantastic experience and we will be back.
The perfect meal. We had the best waitress, the wine was good, the meal outstanding...and the price is lower than the actual value received. All in all, a great experience.
Everything was outstanding from quick seating with a reservation to the service, food and wine.
I couldn't be more impressed with the customer service, food, warm hospitality and ambiance. It was my friend's birthday and it couldn't have been better. We'll definitely be back!
I loved the view to the vineyards and the food
We always enjoy our visits. We should go more often
The bistro has a great ambience with a beautiful view overlooking the vineyards. The seating was comfortable with plenty of room around the table. The staff were very polite and helpful. We arrived at our scheduled reservation time and were seated within a few minutes. The food was very flavorful and delicious. The choice of wine complimented the food. The items for sale in the tasting room are a bit pricey but would make nice gifts. My favorite are the jellies.
Really enjoyed it. Waitress was great. We had an older gift card but they figured out how to get it to come up and was worth more than we thought. Food and wine were wonderful. Decorated nice fir the holiday.
Great place to visit with friends and so beautiful. Service and food were very good.
Great food! Wine was excellent! A truly relaxed atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back!
Had a great time, Good was delicious, service was awesome, atmosphere was great and the wine was delicious!
We have been here 5 times. The food quality and price has been disappointing the last two times. It took us over 1 hour to get our meal..very little chicken salad on the croissant ( the latter was not fresh..tasted a few days old), my husband had the Reuben....very little meat on it. Theses are not inexpensive items! Our sons-in-laws were satisfied with their Italian wraps. The tomato soup with chèvre had too strong a tomato taste. The wine was good! Service was very, very slow! It has been a wonderful place to take our family, but now is too expensive. Poor value for our money. Probably will no eat here again!
I've eaten at The Bistro several times and have enjoyed it every time. The food is excellent, the setting beautiful -- and I've been there in winter and summer. The Christmas decor is beautiful.
The food was wonderful from appetizer to entree. Wine is always good and priced at retail for a bottle.
That experience was wonderful. I enjoyed the food and the service. My family and I enjoyed ourselves.
Very nice. We had a great time. We had guests from out of town and were looking for something different, food and experience. This turned out to be a GREAT fine. I would highly recommend the Childress Vineyards for your dining and viewing pleasure. The service was great also. We are definitely going back.
Staff very friendly!!!
Absolutely beautiful place with friendly service. Food is always delicious. Reasonably priced and their wines are fantastic.
Very nice setting. Excellent service. I ordered the honey walnut chicken salad crossaint. Chicken salad was dry and very little chicken on a large croissant. I would not order this again. The cheese tray was good but way too pricey! My husband had the filet and he said it was delicious.
The service was great! I wished there had been a few more menu options. There were only 2 soup options- neither of which was a good choice for me.
Wonderful brunch. Even though it poured all day, inside the bistro was warm and festive-- a beacon of holiday cheer on a wet Winter Solstice day. Our wine cranberry mimosas rimmed with red, green and white sugar crystals were perfect. The salad, brie, brisket and scallops were excellent as was the service. The stunning view of the vineyard was magnificence even through the downpour. Santé!
Outstanding event as usual - love to bring our friends with us!
The folks there are so nice and accommodating. The service was great and the food was delicious with something for everyone.
Very disappointing lunch - I planned this for a special treat for co workers during Christmas. Will never return. Service was basically non existent. Our very disheveled waitress appeared at our table, 10 minutes after being seated, and said that her section was "messed up today" and so she didn't know we were in her area. Ordered water and our lunches ( one seasonal salad, 2 soup and half sandwich - no special requests at all - just straight off the menu) Received the water. Had to ask for refills. Waited. then waited some more. Waitress was running back and forth, didn't check on us. Waited 35 minutes, flagged her down and asked her to check on our food. 10 minutes later, another server brought the food. Soup cold, small half a sandwich. Salad consisted of greens , half an apple and a few odd pieces of something. Still no water refills. Flagged her down for our check. I paid $15.00 - yes you read that right - for a disappointing small cup of cold-ish tomato soup and half of a chicken salad croissant that was basically all bread and little filling. Please do not waste your time or your money.
The Ambience? Could be magical. The setting is beautiful - but it's cold ( it will tell you that when you make the reservations) and loud. Fake glittery poinsettia sprig on the table stuffed into a jar - fake decorations all around - very little creativity or festive flair. Again, disappointed. Never to return.
I've been a member of the Wine Club at Childress since its earliest days. I've had many meals there and have never been disappointed. This visit was no different. We did have a new server, Megan, and she did an excellent job. We will continue to recommend the winery to our friends and to enjoy many more meals there in the future.
Gluten free friendly and great for the family! We celebrated with an early Christmas lunch. Eating gluten free can sometimes be bothersome but the staff was great with providing gluten free options. Our favorite was the lobster dip with gluten free crackers and the cheese board was amazing!
Beautiful view of vineyard, perfect temperature. Was a little worried because I'd read reviews saying that if it's cold outside it's also cold in the bistro, but the temp was perfect and I'm usually cold natured. Food was okay, a little pricey for the quality but the atmosphere is great as well as the wine. Our server, Blake, was great! Very personable and funny.
Excellent food and service, a wonderful experience all around for our family to celebrate a birthday. We appreciated the server's knowledge of menu items and her assistance in choosing well. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our time at Childress
We love Childress, the food, the atmosphere and the ambience
My recent visit to the Bistro was wonderful. The entire experience was above and beyond my expectations.
We celebrated my birthday. My reservation time was honored. Prompt service, very courteous waitress, very good food!
I'm still a big fan of Childress Bistro, but the past couple of visits, the food has taken a looooooooong time to come out. Service is always very friendly, but it seems that increasingly, there have been some mix-ups and occurrences that have somewhat compromised the otherwise wonderful experience. In the past, I would have had no reservations recommending the place to even the hardest-to-please diner, but now, if you have anybody in your group who might be unforgiving of service issues, you might think about finding another place. Again, everyone is very friendly and tries to accommodate, but there are increasing mix-ups and the food seems to take inexplicably long to come out.
Our work group had a great time for lunch. It is almost always fast service but for some reason our food orders took a very long time in the kitchen. We waited over 30 minutes. The food was good and loved the shopping too!!!
Excellent food and wine, great atmosphere. Would highly recommend this restaurant and winery.
