The Bistro at Childress Vineyards
Our menu changes seasonally and can be viewed online at www.childressvineyards.com.
Natalie the waitress was absolutely amazing she was attentive, funny and great service. She needs a raise or promotion. She will bring you all lots of money.
My fiancé and I really enjoyed it. We’ll definitely return again.
Fantastic food and music on the patio after our meal was also excellent.
Megan was our server. She was friendly and attentive. My husband and I both had the seasonal apple cider mimosas. It was delicious. We strongly recommend the sausage stuffed mushrooms (also seasonal).
I enjoyed my whole experience. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. the Tour guide Chaz was exceptional. The tour was very interesting and enjoyable. The wine tasting was helpful and they brought me a chair as i cannot stand a long time. Also the meal was delicious and the atmosphere was so enjoyable. The scenery and grounds were beautiful. I will be planning to return in the future.
Childress is lovely but first they told open table we were a no show
Then we waited 15 min to be seated. After seating we waited 1 hr and 15 min for our food. And one of us got the wrong food then had to wait 10 more min. For his food and our server didn’t seem to be at all concerned about any of it. Although manager comped our bottle of wine.it appeared many tables around us had slow service..
Didn’t really enjoy the Sauvignon Blanca wine. But the beauty of the winery masks the poor service. All in all a disappointment and probably won’t come back
Always great food and wine, nice gift shop to browse, beautiful grounds and venue. One of our favorite vineyards to visit.
I always have a great experience when I come to the vineyard the one thing that added to this visit were those outstanding Apple Cider mimosas. They should be added to the menu permanently.
The chef created something that would work around my food allergies. Our server was nice and did a great job making our event special by treating us as if we were all special.
I had the shrimp and grits. It was cold when it was served. Nothing else was served with it. Would not order this again.
Lunch was delicious as always! Our server was great and we will definitely be back!
This was my first visit back to the Bistro after an 11 yr absence from this area. Service and the food was very good. A little noisy, but the Bistro was very busy.
Shrimp Ravioli was outstanding. Drinks were ok, but lukewarm sangria.
Food was great and our waiter was great and very funny but the Hostess that seated us left much to be desired. She let a guy pass us In line and we had reservations. We asked her how to sign up for the Wine club membership and she was clueless but offered to find us a brochure and bring it to our table but then she never came back to the table with a brochure. The bistro is very loud. We were expecting a more private intimate meal but the food was absolutely delicious and did not disappoint.
We did a tasting beforehand and the wines were excellent. We ultimately chose to have a bottle of the Reserve Meritage with our lunch, but it was not an easy decision! Highly recommend the shrimp ravioli and petite filet. Our server (really, everyone we interacted with on staff) was knowledgeable and attentive. Alas, we did not save room for dessert, but were welcomed to take the rest of our wine and wineglasses for a stroll around the vineyards.
We’re wine club members and enjoy going to the Bistro for a delicious lunch with Childress wine! The food is always fresh and the view of the grounds and vineyards is amazing!
Nice selection for lunch choices. Loved the wine "flight"! The cheese board was perfectly balanced for me. My friend is not a goat cheese fan, so it left more for me! Nice to get the member discount!
Blake is the BEST
Food was awesome, service was awesome. What a great place!!
Wish at least the server had said Happy Birthday to my husband. There was a generic card on the table, not very caring! Other than that the meal was great, service was pleasant, no talking or friendliness, though. Loved the petite filet and cheeseburger!
Wonderful food and service. The view of the winery property is beautiful
Great food, Nice service, fab location and beautiful wines
My cousin and I meet at Childress Bistro several times a year. The food is always excellent with a creative menu that changes with the seasons. Had sesame encrusted tuna this time with a side of deep fried avocado. Delicious and perfectly prepared. Salads are huge. Half portion was still large enough to share. I look forward to my next visit. Their chef is brilliant!
Always excellent service and quality food.
We enjoyed our visit and brought friends since we are wine club members. We hope the bistro will be open on Friday and Saturday evenings and not just lunch
The place alone is worth the trip. The restaurant is marvelous with good seasonal food. The service is awesome. We ordered a starter place along with entrees but the entrees came out before the starter so they accepted their mistake by not charging for the starter. It definitely demonstrated to us that they are care and value customer service and reputation.
We left $21 tip for the total bill of $ 58 to let them know they have us now 🙂.
One of our friends can't drink but every drink has alcohol in it. It would be nice to have a few drinks with no alcohol.
Otherwise, we were very happy and definitely will return.
Our server was great
Of course the property was beautiful and absolutely would recommend the Vineyard for any occasion
We each ordered a Sangria with the fruit for our drink. That was the best part of the meal. My husband ordered the reuben with the rosemary fries. The fries were good but the sandwich was dry--barely any 1,000 Island Dressing on it. I ordered the chicken salad croissant. The croissant was dry, a bit on the stale side. The sweet potato fries were good. $22 each for our drink and a so/so sandwich platter and neither of us cared for our sandwiches.
Excellent first time experience at The Bistro at Childress Vineyards . . . great girls lunch outing! Loved it.
Visited with friends and family (5) as usual, the server was excellent, the wine and food were great. Then sat outside and enjoyed more wine overlooking the vineyard
I took my mom here for her birthday! It was only 1 hour outside of Charlotte and right off of the interstate. Everything was immaculate! The wine tasting was worthwhile. The gift shop was break taking. The bistro is a must have. We will definitely return!!!
Fried green tomato caprese was cold. Green tomato too thin. Red tomato too thick. No seasoning in the batter. Wife’s pork chop was over cooked and tough. Green beans were over cooked and mushy. No seasoning on anything. My mahi mahi was slightly overcooked. No seasoning. My wife’s creme brûlée was cold and there was not the crisp sugary cap that is expected. The presentation went from French style plating to Al’s Diner. When we started coming to the Bistro over 6 years ago, the food was exceptional. We have recommended the Bistro to several couples. We have returned over and over to capture that same experience but have seen a steady decline in food quality, preparation, and presentation for the price. This was our 12th time in 6 years and our last.
Wonderful experience and great time
Always attentive and great food
Blake was wonderful
Such a fun place! The Bistro was great, as was the whole Childress Vineyards experience! Will definitely be back!
Our party of 3 was very pleased with our lunch visit. We had the Italian wrap and blt with sweet potato fries! Definitely visit again!
When confirmed reservation reviewed the menu on line. Was disappointed when saw the menu at the Bistro was not the same at all.
I wish I could give the whole night 5 stars, but that goes only to our server, Natalie, and the meals. The treatment we received fell far below expectations. My friend and I have been frequent visitors to Childress Vineyards and the Bistro. Usually a great time. Hadn't been there in a while, and decided to go Friday night for the prime rib special. When we arrived, the hostess asked if we were Wine Club Members - no, not currently - and seated us at one of the many vacant tables. I was actually surprised there were not more people there since in the past it was sometimes hard to get a reservation. Our server, Natalie, was new, but she could not have been more delightful. We chatted, she brought our wine order, and then took our food order. While we were enjoying our wine and waiting for our meal, the sun began to slowly set, shining directly into my eyes and of one of my friends. With so many empty tables, we asked Natalie if she could move us to a different table. She checked with the hostess and came back to say that all the other tables were reserved, so we had to stay where we were. Not pleasant, but the food came and it was delicious. And the desserts were fantastic. By the time we finished and got the checks, it was almost 8 pm, the time they were closing. In all that time, only 2 other couples came in to be seated. One couple immediately complained about their table and were moved to another at once. So whether it was the fact that we were not Club Members, or just that we were 4 women, we were not at all happy with their decision not to accommodate us with a better table location.
This was my third time at the bistro. All three times have been a great experience. The food, the service, the atmosphere was exceptional. Our lunch Friday was a just because we needed it. Thank you for everything. We will be back.
Delightful meal accompanied by a flight of wine. As a wine club member there was special attention to the celebration of a birthday!
We have eaten there many times before, almost always as a party of four at lunch. We live in Charlotte, and Childress is an ideal mid point for friends in the Triad, We'll be back again and again. Tiffany our waitperson this time was exceptional.
