The Bistro at Childress Vineyards
Our menu changes seasonally and can be viewed online at www.childressvineyards.com.
First ones in and the service was exceptional! The half-and-half deal was perfect.
The food was great. Matt was a great waiter. We will definitely be back!
The only complaint we had from our visit was: After we were seated, it took forever for our waitress to come over. In fact, we had to stop another waitress walking by to ask if we could get some drinks. She said she would get our drinks and check on our waitress. She delivered our drinks and our waitress came by within 5 minutes of us getting our drinks. We have been to the Bistro several times and never had this issue. Hopefully this was just an isolated incident.
If you order white wine, request only a cold bottle since their white is ususlly room temperture. We had to send our food back since part was cold and the salmon was overcooked . The manager corrected the problem. The norm is that both the service and food is excellent, but white wine is never cold!
My friends and celebrated 35 yrs of being friends and we thought the grounds are beautiful, the food was exceptional!!!!
Great time! Very cool place!
The Bistro and Childress overall NEVER disappoints! I brought my son's girlfriend and her Mother (first-timers) and they LOVED it! Shopping is always good; food was excellent and plentiful, and the Wine-Club membership is a bonus! I will be back soon to Christmas shop. Keep up the good work, all!
We had a great time. I had a wonderful tomato bisque with goat cheese soup. Our waitress was amazing and the atmosphere is spectacular. Shopping at the gift shop after was really wonderful. This was a great birthday gift!
Food was good and the service was spot on☺️
Always enjoy The Bistro—-the service was not our normal 5 star. The wait staff seemed distracted.
The hostesses were very nice and greeted me by name, ( having a reservation). Also they asked if we were having a good day and were glad we came.
Everyone should eat The Bistro at Childress Vineyards at least once. The food is fabulous. The staff is attentive. The experience is priceless!
We have always enjoyed coming to Childress but this event was misrepresented as Opentable for The Bistro! It was not held there but in the outdoor Pavilion which was not where it was to be held! My husband has health issues and the access to the pavilion was not user friendly! You could not drive up to it! It had downward approximate 30% grade path. No handicap access! So to leave you had to basically climb the path which he struggled greatly. What should have been a nice evening turned into an extremely painful evening! Not one staff member asked if they could assist!
For my birthday we attended the Holiday Buffet. The food was fabulous! The decorations awe inspiring. Next year we will go back!
My family and I had lunch in the restaurant there last year for Christmas. We enjoyed it very much. However, I took my spouse to the Open House yesterday for his birthday, and the buffet food was very average. Reminded me a little of the K&W, not awful, but not really very good either. The Pavilion was cold and the atmosphere rather drab. Not so of the gift shop and bar. They were decorated beautifully and the outdoor setting was very pleasant with so many beautiful acres of vineyards to gaze on. Too bad the food was not better. The buffet cost $37.00 per person...way too much for what was offered and again, the food was very average and bland.
Customer service and food were both amazing! I would recommend for sure.
Amazing... we took our best friends for their Anniversary
The flights wine sampler was wonderful. The sangria and muscadine were our favorites. The butternut squash soup was delicious. The shrimp and grits was perfect. The small ceasar salad was huge. Pricy but a good place to go every once in awhile!
Beautiful site, great staff, food was ok. I would visit again! Thanks!
We love to eat at the Bistro whenever we are in the area. The menu is varied and the food is wonderful.
Met my long time girlfriend to catch up!
The Greek salad is delicious. I paired it with the Reuben for the half and half.
The atmosphere was great at The Bistro. It was very simple, but elegant for a lunch menu. My friend and I had a waitress that was fantastic. Her name was Tonya, and she was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend The Bistro to anyone who is looking for a great lunch spot.
A beautiful place, only problem was that our waitress disappeared after asking if we wanted the check??? We literally waited for 25-30 minutes just trying to pay our bill. My Dad was so upset, and kept asking if she was okay... we never saw her again? The hostess finally took our payment... but it was just odd. We actually got married at Childress Vineyards back in 2008 and have never had a negative experience there until this one. Very unprofessional...
We have been going for years and are always pleased with the food at Childress Bistro. We arrived well before our reserved time but were almost immediately seated. Of course Childress Vinyards is a winery, but our party was not much into wine so we can offer no thoughts. Two of us had the beef while the other two had "fancy" salads. The beef dish was superb. Similar response from the salad eaters. Overall, the dining experience was excellent.
Always a pleasure to visit The Bistro and Childress Vineyards, great food, service, staff, wine and comaraderie...
I met one of my best friends for a "catch up" lunch at The Bistro. She got there a few minutes before I did and texted me "WOW!" I had not told her how impressive the grounds and buildings were - she loved it!The staff was friendly, the service was excellent and the food was gorgeous, generous and delicious! We promised each other we would be meeting there again!!! I live less than 10 minutes away... I should be going more often!
Great food and ambiance. From the wine selection to the desserts our meal was great. My only suggestion is there hours should be longer on Saturdays
The experience was very good. It was my first visit and I enjoyed a good burger with a side Caesar salad. Glad they offered the burger without the bun. Very juicy.
Our server, Natalie was charming and we enjoyed talking with her. She has great charisma and comes from a marketing background. If you haven't considered this before, she might serve Childress Vineyard well to be involved in your marketing. We think she could sell someone the Brooklyn Bridge. Just sayin...
We enjoy coming to the bistro. The food is typically very good. However, I had the shrimp and grits this time. Even though tasty, I had to send it back. It was WAAAYYY too salty. A shame because I really wanted to eat it. We'll still come back though. It's always a nice experience.
The Greek salad was delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone that wants lighter fare!
We had a wonderful lunch looking over the vineyard. The tomato bisque was delicious. Chicken croissants were good. Ruben was great. Sweet potato fries are delicious but covered in sugar. Will return again.
Very nice and attractive winery: attractive building, impressive vineyards and property of rolling hills, gigantic tasting rooms and well stocked gift shop, pretty decent bistro with nice views and good food . . . And the actual wines are nice but perhaps not as impressive as a few others in Yadkin Valley. This place feels like and is run like a well oiled Corporate machine that is focused on upon upscale efficiency and volume. Examples: The “ greeter “ directed us to the gift shop even after we said that we preferred to go directly to the bistro to fulfill our pending reservation. The bistro ran out of the featured Seasonal soup at 12:15 just minutes after opening. ( they did have another option ). Then, when I foolishly left my credit card at the table upon leaving the bistro, and hung around the gift shop and tasting rooms for 40 more minutes, no attempt was made to call or text or find me. I drove home 2 hours and then discovered my error. After 3 elapsed hours, still, no call or text. ( yes, they did have my # from the reservation process ). This was a huge disappointment. They had my card in their office. When I called them, I was crisply informed “ we do try immediately to contact the customer in such situations “. Well, uh, NO you do not. Anyway, this is a beautiful facility that is well worth a 2 to 3 hour visit including a tasting and lunch. We did enjoy most aspects of our visit.
First time dining here and everything, everyone had was great. It was a fall menu and I can't wait to try menu during other seasons as well.
My experience was absolutely wonderful! Food, service and ambiance are amazing. Menu is great, a perfect variety in selection but not overwhelming. The only down side is the noise level is a bit higher than you would expect and makes it difficult to carry on a conversation, even with only two of us at a table. I don’t know what could be done to help the noise aspect but it would much nicer if it were quieter. I would definitely recommend going. It’s a beautiful place.
Natalie the waitress was absolutely amazing she was attentive, funny and great service. She needs a raise or promotion. She will bring you all lots of money.
Great place to visit. Tour, tasting and restaurant were superb. Grounds are nice and entertainment enjoyable
My fiancé and I really enjoyed it. We’ll definitely return again.
Fantastic food and music on the patio after our meal was also excellent.
Megan was our server. She was friendly and attentive. My husband and I both had the seasonal apple cider mimosas. It was delicious. We strongly recommend the sausage stuffed mushrooms (also seasonal).
