The Bistro at Childress Vineyards
Our menu changes seasonally and can be viewed online at www.childressvineyards.com.
Always enjoy lunch at the winery! Lovely scenery a this winery, which is more like a California winery than any other local NC wineries. Food is delicious, and I especially enjoy selecting my own wine flight. I must of you are in the area!
The Bistro offers a beautiful view of the surrounding vineyard. The service was wonderful and Judy’s chicken wrap was delicious.
We had a great time at Childress. The food and wine were exceptional.
Highly recommend. Even if you do not like wine, the atmosphere and food is well worth the trip.
The Bistro at Childress was wonderful!! The food was amazing, the views were beautiful and the staff were very helpful and kind :)
From our first impression of this magnificent winery, to the staff, wine and the food everything was outstanding. A true gem in the area around Lexington, NC. If you are in the area, or want a destination for a weekend of wine and exploring, this place needs to be on your to do list.
We had a great time. Id suggest more umbrellas outside. Thx.
We were there for the Father’s Day brunch and the food was delicious.
Great food! Great service! We will be back!
We have visited Childress Vineyards on several occasions and always eaten at the Bistro. It has always been a good experience. The ambiance is wonderful. We always bring guests. One of our guests commented that he could sit outside in one of the sitting areas everyday and read his book, particularly with a glass of wine. Our total experience at Childress Vineyards can be summed up in so many ways but most importantly it has character and class.
Great selection of food and drinks. Comfortable atmosphere and pleasant servers.
Lovely venue for a nice lunch out; wonderful view of the vineyards; great service.
In the rear of a Marvelous Chateau sits the Bistro overlooking acres of grape vines where their fantastic wines originate. The menu was varied for all tastes but extremely limited with options. The lunch we had was very very tasty. I chose the seasonal salad with some cool chicken for protein. It was huge with fruits and nuts along with field greens and spinach. My wife had a chicken roll up. Both were Delicious! Next time we are in that part of North Carolina we will be happy to go again. I would recommend it to anyone that loves wine and good food in a incredible place.
This was our second trip to the bistro and it was great experience just as the first. Wait staff super, food excellent! Wine slush is the big hit on each trip.
Celebrating my girlfriends birthday
Every visit has been a treat. I enjoy visiting and doing the tour. Our tour guide was awesome. The upgrades made the grounds beautiful. I will be back soon.
Service was very good and the atmosphere was excellent!
We are wine club members and needed to pick up our yearly renewal gift. So we decided to make reservations for lunch. As always, food and service are top notch! Best steak I’ve had and the Judy’s chicken sandwich is my husband’s go to favorite. They had live music, tastings and a lot of lively activities going on inside (it was pouring outside). I’d come back every weekend if we could and wish it was open later for dinner...it’s that good!
Beautiful winery. Unfortunately the day we went it was raining so we weren't able to enjoy the ambiance outdoors but all in all we had a lovely time. The bistro was wonderful. I had the shrimp ravioli which was delicious and my husband had the burger and a cup of the tomato bisque which he said was fabulous. We both ordered a flight to sample the wines and asked our server to suggest samplings. I enjoyed every one of the whites and the Rose'
my husband was only so so on the reds. The only faux pas was he had ordered a glass of wine to have with his meal and unfortunately the server had not told us she could not bring the glass of wine until he had surrendered the flight. (some NC crazy liquor law). The glass of wine therefore was not served until after he had finished his meal. All said and done it was a very enjoyable time. We purchased a bottle of the Rose' and a Riesling to take home.
Passing through Lexington, NC on our way back from Charlotte to Durham made reservations for 12 noon. Drove up and the place is spectacular. Just beautiful in every way, clean and manicured. Walked in and was immediately greeted by some really friendly faces. When you first walk in there is a gift shop to the left and reception/ bar tasting room to the right. Again really nice and high end. We were seat and the greeted by Tonia our waitress from Tennessee! Well she made some excellent suggestions from the Muscadine red wine to the Judy’s Chicken wrap. The chili and cinnamon sweet potato’s (which is more like a dessert then a side) were very good. My wife had the a Richard’s Reuben and thankfully she couldn’t finish it - because I really want to taste it and it was a ligit NY Reuben. It’s about and hour and a half from us but we will be back.
Excellent service, our waiter was supper nice and very knowledgeable. The food was great, and it was a very good experience overall. Entire wait staff and the associates who worked the bar/shop were super nice also.
Birthday - pleasantly surprised. We will be back
Very relaxing atmosphere. Lunch was wonder with a great view. The stuff was very delightful during our visit. The grounds were magnificent to look over.
The bistro was amazing! The food was wonderful, service was great. The atmosphere was phenomenal. I will definitely be back soon.
The only compliant we had was having to wait 15-20 minutes after being seated to have someone take our drink order. Other than that, our time there was very nice & refreshing.
My family and I enjoyed a Memorial Day brunch at the Bistro. The view was absolutely beautiful. The food was great and the customer service from the waiter was outstanding. We’ve never visited a winery so this was a great first time experience. Look forward to visiting again in the future.
Wonderful service, excellent food, good wine and an awesome ambience and view
Absolutely a beautiful setting and environment. The service - the food - the view absolutely amazing.
Would highly recommend ! Will return
My wife and I went to Childress for the first time for our 4 year anniversary. We did a tasting with Rose before our lunch and she was phenomenal. If you are looking to learn more about wines and pairing, Rose is your go to person. The wine was great and the staff was very fun and welcoming.
After the tasting we went for lunch in the Bistro and had Amy as a waitress. Again, phenomenal service. We were seated and wished a happy anniversary from our reservation booking, the food was delicious and Amy went above and beyond to provide us with a positive first experience.
We enjoyed our time so much we are planning another weekend to bring our friends up for a day trip.
Every time we have been here the service has been great and the food is absolutely the best in the area! The quality is always consistent and we are very impressed with the proper level of doneness of the steaks (medium, medium-well, etc.) With the Bistro overlooking the vineyards, you can't ask for a better view! This will continue to be one of our favorites. Give it a try and it will be one of your favorites, too!
First time I visited was April 8, 2019. Menu had many more choices then than on this visit ..... plus there were several specials. Food was better then. This trip, 5-24-19, the menu was VERY limited, and there were no specials. The only fish offered was seared grouper, which I ordered, and it was much, much too salty. The noise level was far too great .... which I understand is difficult to control. Loud, large table next to us. Will try again, hoping it will be back up to 5 stars.
Food was very good. We had cheese platter as an appetizer to share. Very nice setting for a casual lunch
I have been to the bistro several times and have always enjoyed my experience. This visit I brought a friend with me and she enjoyed herself so much she is bringing her family with her next time. Our waitress was friendly and had a great personality. The food as always was amazing! Thank you again for all the work that you guys put in to making our experience a great one! Kiddos to the whole team.
We have always enjoyed Childress. I never had a bad meal. Always tasty. Highly recommend.
Childress is a wonderful place to eat and drink wine. Would highly recommend a generator for power.
I come here for lunch whenever I’m in the Raleigh area. Awesome food and awesome service. Great ambience. And of course awesome wine selection😎
The Bistro at Childress is a wonderful place to go for a relaxing lunch. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service excellent and the food really, really good. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Although the menu is limited everything is very well done. The perfect place to take my parents out for a Sunday lunch. Thank you Childress for always doing things so tastefully done!
It was a ladies day out and we enjoyed ourselves
Delicious food, great ambiance (except for the screaming toddler at the next table). Slow but pleasant service.
Love the entire facility. Eaten at Bistro twice and both meals have been great. The staff are friendly and attentive. The menu might be a little small but I believe has something for everyone. My wife had the rueben sandwich with soup. I had the four cheese ravioli with shrimp. Can not mention enough the good food. And the view from Birtro which overlooks Childress Vineyards tops off the experience. Oh and if you enjoy wine stop by the tasting room for anything from dry merlots to sweet muscadine.
